It was a beautiful country. The mountains were filled with snow. The little cottage they were staying at was in the middle of nowhere. Next to it was a small lake. It was cold, perfect for two love birds.
Shiv put the fire on to heat the place up. There was only one room and Shiv had no choice but to sleep either on the couch on the bed with her. Even though they shared a bed, he was getting irritated with Gauri snuggling into him so he opted for the couch. The place was beautiful. He would have loved to have had his honeymoon here but Gauri ruined it all. She shattered his dreams. He wasn't in love with her either but he married her to keep his family happy. She seemed nice at the time. He sighed and picked up a dvd and watched it.
Gauri waited for Shiv to come in all night and eventually fell asleep alone. This wasn't going the way she planned. The next day she tried to talk to him but he just ignored her. He went into the shower and had a good cry. She came out with a towel around her when Shiv walked in. The sight before him... WOW. He tried to walk away but his feet were stuck. He tried to avert his eyes but they were glued. He tried to close his jaw but all he managed to do was lick his lips. After he gathered his senses he left the room. His body wanting more and his heart pounding.
Seeing Shiv like this, it gave Gauri an idea.
As soon as the sun set. Gauri put on a sexy pink sari (sushmita in maine pyaar kyon kiya: laaga laaga song, only diff colour). Her navel was obvious. She walked in to the lounge where Shiv lay, still refusing to talk to her...
She walked in front of him and looked him in the eye and. . . Realised she did love him. she didn't know how or why. She was willing to lose her virginity to this man. She stayed hungry because he was, she stayed up waiting for him, and she was willing to give everything she had for one of his gorgeous smiles. It was love. Dadi was right.
She was bought out of her thoughts when thoda sa pyar hua hai started to play. Shiv and Gauri looked at each other. Both drifting off into their own little world, she wanted him both emotionally and physically and from the incident before, it was obvious Shiv wanted her physically, but could she live with just that?
Gauri took a deep breath and slowly lowered herself on to Shiv. As she went down, her Sari's pallo fell off leaving her with just her blouse. Shiv couldn't move. What was happening? Gauri kept eye contact with him until she was nose to nose with him and then she looked at his lips and bent her head down to taste them. Her heart was beating really fast. She had never done this before. She didn't really know what she was doing. She hoped Shiv couldn't tell how nervous she was.
Shiv's arms automatically went around Gauri. He still didn't know what she was playing at. He could tell she was inexperienced. He liked that she was doing this, giving herself to him. Shiv took control, he kissed her with passion and force.
Gauri woke up alone on her bed. Her plan didn't work as well as she wanted. It seemed he was losing control and then got up and left. No word, nothing. It left Gauri in turmoil. He had resisted her emotionally and now physically. What was she to do? Gauri sat in the bed alone thinking... what was her next move? It had started to snow; she walked over to the window and started to hum a tune while Shiv was in the lounge. She started to sing it loud.

Gauri walked around the cottage and hugged herself.

She saw Shiv watching through the window as she leaned against the iron clothing pole. He looked sad. She wanted to be leaning him instead. She imagined herself with Shiv playing in the snow, being in front of the fire together, cuddling on the sofa, falling asleep in each other's arms.

She ended the song by humming to herself. Little did she know Shiv had heard her. She had a beautiful voice. It strung at his heart strings, but what was the point in tugging at broken strings? He wished his heart didn't flutter and he wished she hadn't come on to him last night. He couldn't get her out of his thoughts, he remembered when he first saw her, he thought she was absolutely gorgeous, her dark eyes filled with mischief, her smile brighter than a summer's day but now when he looked into her eyes, he saw evil and her smile was dark. He didn't know what Gauri was up to. Why was she willing to sleep with him? She knew by the way she had kissed him; she had no experience or was that an act? Why was she being nice? What is going in her head? The questioned buzzed around. He didn't know what peace was since he married Gauri. First it was because she was cruel and now he didn't understand why she changed overnight.
Gauri knew that she needed to work hard even if it took her a life time to gain Shivs trust and his forgiveness. She knew she had been an utter cow but she was trying to make things right. Why couldn't Shiv see that. Their honeymoon had ended with no promise.
The afternoon Gauri and Shiv got home, his dadi dragged Gauri aside and asked if any improvements had been made. Gauri regretfully said, "No dadi, he won't even look at me. What else can I do?"
"It will take time betta but trust he will come around, just keep showing him your love and support."
Okay dadi, Gauri said with half a smile.
That night they had an invitation to go to a party at the sharma's. The Sharma's were close friends of the Kapoor's. Gauri never attended any function but this time Gauri wore her black sari Shiv had gotten her on their wedding. (The won Gauri wore first dance with Iqbal Khan). She adorned herself as someone's wife, her sindhoor, mangalsutre and her wedding ring which she vowed never to take off.
The family arrived in style. Everyone had their eyes on Gauri, they were shocked she had turned up and that with a smile on her face. She greeted everyone and when Shiv talked to his business aquintances, she snuck up behind him and slipped her hand into his. The crowd watched Gauri make goo goo gaa gaa eyes at Shiv. She seemed to be only watching him. It was amazing they thought. The turnaround of the Kapoor's bahoo. Shiv had no choice, her saw the happiness it gave his father and grandmother and the fact they held their heads up high as people respected them for that and no longer looked down that they didn't have a nice daughter in law, who couldn't respect her own husband and family let alone their friends and relatives.
Gauri was shocked, Shiv was being nice to her. Was this a dream? Had he come around? She wondered. She then walked towards Shiv and heard Shiv and Samar talking. Samar was Shiv's best friend. Ashe heard Shiv tell him that he was acting for the sake of his father and grandfather. Gauri's heart broke again. She was stuck in a hard place. She shook off her heart break and smiled...she said to herself, "Remember you did this to him, several times. Now it's your turn to take the hits."

The song ended and the couple hugged. Gauri and shiv remained in an embrace for ages. She didn't know if this was part of his act but she liked it. She hugged him tightly! She was afraid to let go, open her eyes for reality to kick in. They had no choice to break their embrace as the hall erupted with claps and cheering. She shyly looked up at Shiv who seemed to have his eyes fixed on the door and the shadow that stood in it.
She only had eyes for Shiv and Shiv only had eyes for the other woman. He left her in the middle of the dance floor and walked over to this girl. Gauri could see her now; she had long black hair, attractive. Who was she? Shiv gave her a huge hug, this sent chills down Gauri's spine. Who was this girl? And why was her husband hugging her?
