😆 Buffie, you are so right about Indian stars trying to be western and turning out to be western-wannabes. They just forget themselves in the process, that are INDIAN stars, where is the Indian in them?

It's like a competition of who can wear the most outrageous westerns wears, especially in the TV industry. Wearing western is fine, if you are used to it. But to wear them and always be uncomfortable and self-conscious in them is funny. It is funny to see some TV actresses pulling their clothes here and there during the award shows and parties.

Buffie, I think you were talking about some of the races I was thinking of.

You know the people with Arbian background, and then English, Russian, Dravidian, and Aryan backgrounds? Those were some I had in mind.

I am not Indian, I am Bengali, there people who come from Arab backgrounds maintain a certain social status, while people with Russian background maintain another. It's not necessarily about the socio-economic status with them, but many classify themselves with money and education as well.

Remember what michael jackson said, 'It doesn't matter if you're black or white'..ss should take this advice and stop seeing the world in her white-tinted spectacles 😕 ..what if her babies aren't the 'colour' she 'wanted'..i bet you she wouldn't love them ANY LESS..so why is she commenting so wrongly for others? 😡 ..and as if its her business anyway 😕 ..she should stick to tellywood and leave the real 'stars' of b'wood alone. 😡

I see it everywhere, make one passing comment about skin being dark or whatever then Auntyjis and other desi females totally overreact. Lets just be happy with the way we look.

If someone had compared say Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor's kid being too "gora", no one would have cared, there wouldn't have been big HOO HAH about it.

Nahi, yaar... the problem is that darker skin tone is seen as a not so pretty thing in our society. And those who have a fair skin, think it's their "kamal". Not only that, they even look down at others with darker skin tone. That's SO not right.

To be very honest, it's only in our society that we have inferiority complexes cuz of our COMPLEXION. In Europe, people wish to have a darker skin tone, but that's not the ONLY thing on their mind and they're not obsessed with it unlike us.

I agree...it was DEFINITELY said in the derogatory sense....She definitely wasnt in any way trying to say that dark is nice or anything on those lines....Color is a very sensitive issue, and people do take offense.....

and its only a few people who yet believe in the superiority of the fairer skin tone....Even in the industry where looks matters the most...i.e. the entertaibnment industry, we DO have darker people like Bipasha basu, Rani Mukherjee and Ajay Devagan who are doing extremely well for themselves....and even in the telly world, we have maninie mishra doing better than Shilpa Saklani(maninie had a role in krrish, maninie is doing Twinkle beauty parlour where her role is meatier than that of Shilpa's in kyunki, Maninie was also seen in an MTV play along with gaurav gera, and apparently there's another show of hers in the pipeline)....So it really beats me as to how people are YET claiming the supremacy of the fair skin tone😕 when actually it really doesnt matter even in the Entertainment indusrty😊
