Did Abhishek dump Ash?

A month ago, when I wrote about the split between Ash and Abhishek in this column, I knew that it wasn't due to astrological reasons. While many believe that Mamma Bachchan was sceptical about Ash being manglik, actually it was Papa Bachchan who was against the marriage from day one. A very close associate of the Bachchan family says, "The manglik factor is sheer rubbish. Since the time Abhishek's name was linked with Ash, the media started writing negative articles about him. They made Ash look like an opportunist who was simply using Abhishek to get films with the Chopras and Sippys. The politically correct Bachchans resented these insinuations. And asked Abhishek to keep himself away from such negative publicity."

Ash, till date, hasn't told anyone the reason behind her split with Vivek Oberoi. Today we don't know why AB Jr dumped her. Sources close to Ash say, "She wanted to settle down with a man like Abhishek, but when she realised that it was not working out, she quietly stepped out of his life."
