Creativity seems in rather short supply in this new serial, which is trying to replicate the Anandham formula almost wholesale. First off, the title song, sung by the very same Chitra-ji, begins with the very same word, "Anandham". The logo that flashes on the screen in the first frame also looks eerily the same as the Anandham logo, with the same yellow flower on the left and the picture of the heroine on the right hand corner in pretty much the same colours. Only difference is that the heroine is Meena rather than Sukanya.

Other than the change in the heroine, it's pretty much the same cast of characters except that they play different roles, and some like Delhi Kumar and SS have disguised their appearances with, respectively, a wig and glasses. (I am happy to see Brinda Das in a positive role finally.) Instead of a popular policeman (ACD), they now have a policewoman, who the producers evidentally hope will be equally popular. Incidentally, the same old MD, Kiran, uses the same old melodies. I noticed that the orchestra struck the very same notes that accompanied ACD when the new DSP Mayavathi appeared. (I also thought the producers were straining to boost the DSP character by giving her the name of one of the most powerful politicians in India today.)

The storyline, however, is different so far, especially the mysterious Meena track. But I hope it doesn't degenerate into the same old police and thieves/terrorists routine after the initial focus on the family story and kalyanam. Let's look forward to new beginnings apart from the aforesaid stale stuff. 😊.

Thanks for all the updates. The story seems different from the regular serials for now. As some one pointed out they should continue to keep the track rather than falling into fully emotional drama.

One thing I noticed - before the story thread related to Meena they show it happened some months ago. (Sila Madahangalukku mun). I don't know how it is going to be tied to the present. Lets see. Thanks again for the wonderful update.

Migan thanks for quoting this past thing.. i completely forgot to add that in my updates 😳.. ama, me too wondering how they are goin to relate this. And hopefully they keep in track with the story and not sodaperan like other serials
