You are both correct...
From my point of view, it is almost as if the writers are having a domestic violence debate on the show, at the expense of MeeeVaan and everything about Vivaan, even seconds before it happened 😕...
All the ladies of the family are allowing his behaviour due the his grief/loss where as Amar Dhingra is shown as completely insensitive. Amar jumping to call the police will add fuel to the fire and Vivaan will accuse the Dhingras of sending him jail , to get the house/property as alimony or legal settlement.
We live in world social media world of zero tolerance for domestic violence and rightly so because real life has plenty of horror stories.
I can not help wonder though, can you break a whole relation in time of grief, when you love that person? Why is it a sign of weakness if you want to make things work and clear misunderstandings? Society judges and labels people as abusers, victims, monsters or fighters but by doing this are we not looking at things simply for the the same black and white perspective as we often accuse the writers of doing?
Perhaps it is my disappointment or attachment to the show and characters being expressed here. If I have stated anything which contradicts my previous statements please excuse me. 😊
