Hello peeps. Hope 'Sau din saas ke 2.0' is treating you all well. 🤗This post is a humble attempt at drawing parallels between two life altering events related to the 'parallel' leads of this show.😊
The first one..
Meera was made to believe that Vivaan had publicly maligned her character to sabotage the wedding. She couldn't wrap her head around the fact that a 'good person' like him would do it.
She blindly believed 'proofs' and refused to see reason despite Vivaan trying to convince her. Vivaan had asked her as to why would he do it... the response was "mujhe nahi pata" then.
He was hurt that she didn't trust him, but didn't have much at stake back then. He gave up after some time, yelled at her and walked off.
The "farak nahi padta hai" however, couldn't hold him back for long and he rushed to her when she was in trouble... even when there was no formal relationship between them.
Today...
Vivaan sees the death certificate and is heartbroken. He cannot believe Meera has lied to him and yells at her. Roma adds fuel to the raging fire and Vivaan is so confused by the ongoing events, that probably this is the first time he doesn't defend anyone in the family.
He blindly believes the 'proof' in hand and refuses to see reason despite Meera's assertions. Meera asks as to why would she do it. The same "Mujhe nahi pata" is the response.
Liked the scene where she asks him to look her in the eye but he's unable to. There's conflict and angst this time unlike the last. Also liked that the gold digger references were not made by him. He is angry but is unable to understand why they've lied because the marriage was his own decision anyway.
Meera was indeed hurt that Vivaan doesn't trust her but she loses it when her dad becomes unwell. She admonishes him and walks off with her dad.
But she also prays for him, his mother... and as we know, shall go back to him. There is a real relationship between them now, however namesake, which she definitely values. She might have her reasons, like proving her dad right... but for sure she is not leaving him when he's emotionally unstable.
The shots/frames were kinda similar in these two showdown scenes. And yes, both of them are driven by their respective 'families'. Meera was getting married for her family and couldn't tolerate anyone fiddling with that. And Vivaan is sensitive when it comes to his mother. They couldn't trust each other over sensitive issues.
However, the marriage has given rise to expectations and hurt. Both of them were clearly disturbed... wish that was shown more 'clearly' though. 🥱
I like that they have each others' back in times of adversity. The store room aftermath, or the whole airport drama, the wedding or today ...all suggestive of this. However, in this friendship and care they are still 'for' family than 'for' each other. It would have been b'ful to see them bridge this gap... ironing out their trust issues in the process. Misunderstandings COULD have paved the way to understanding and eventually, love.
Unfortunately, no hopes that the writers can handle all this in a sensitive manner even when they are the ones to have built this relationship with all the subtlety. 😳
BUT.. that is in no way suggesting that it was a great episode. The angst between the couple should have gotten more screen time than Mrs. Roma Kapoor and her self talk. No one cares lady. Just GTH!🤢 Two seconds of card-burning/ throwing things around is not how you show pain of mistrust/disbelief/separation.
Thought that the couple and the track have potential when the MU scene was playing out... but alas! Lack of screen space for the so-called lead couple, and then the precap.🤣 It suggests there's no respite from this MU and black magic business and thus, this would probably be my last thread on this forum. Hoping against hope the show gets better eventually and threads celebrating good scenes are made.
Ciao!
