Chapter 7
"Is this how you will propose to me Manik Malhotra?" Nandini asked with fake anger.
"I never thought of doing it like this but now that I have already done it, just say yes."
"And why should I say yes when I can marry someone like Virat Kohli or Virat Kohli himself?" Nandini asked teasingly.
Manik stared at her and then pulled her closer.
"Mandap se uthake lejaunga."
Nandini stared at him and then started laughing.
"I was just teasing you baby. I'll never think of marrying someone else even if that person is Virat Kohli."
"Good." Manik said and kissed her.
She kissed him back and smiled in the kiss.
They pulled away and stared at each other.
"I love you."
"I love me too."
Manik looked at her in disbelief.
"You are supposed to say that YOU love ME."
Nandini smiled and gave him a peck on his lips before replying.
"I love you." She finally said after staring at him for a minute.
"See it's not that difficult."
She rolled her eyes at him but couldn't help but smile.
He really makes her feel special and happy like no one else has.
She felt like she is the luckiest girl in the whole world to have someone like Manik as a best friend, boyfriend and soon to be husband.
She found herself wondering if all these is a dream and if one day she will wake up and all of the things she has will disappear, Manik will disappear.
Even the thought of losing Manik scares her.
How will she survive without him?
He is like a drug that she is addicted to.
"Jaan." Manik's voice brought her back from her thoughts.
"What happened? What were you thinking?" He asked as he pulled her more closer to himself.
Nandini shook her head and kissed his forehead.
Their moment was interrupted when Nandini's phone started ringing.
"Hello...okay I'll be there in 15 minutes."
She put her phone down and looked at Manik.
"I have to leave baby. There is an emergency in the hospital."
Manik pulled her closer to himself again.
"I don't want you to leave. I want you here to myself, close to myself."
"I know baby but I have to go."
Reluctantly Manik let her go.
He watched her until she was out of his sight.
He let out a sigh and got up to go to Malhotra Mansion.
He walked in to see his friends sitting in the living room talking about something.
"Oh look who is here!" Cabir said as he saw Manik walking towards them.
Manik slapped him on his head and sat down next to him.
"Where is Nandini?" Navya asked.
"Hospital."
"Oh so that's why you are here, because Nandini left for hospital. And here I thought you missed us that's why you came."
Cabir said while acting like he is hurt.
"Cabiiir yaar shut up and Veebha can I talk to you alone for a second?"
Veebha's smile got wider when she heard that Manik wants to talk to her alone.
She got up and followed Manik outside.
"Why did you lie to Nandini?"
Veebha looked at him and the smile she had on her face slowly faded.
"I didn't-"
"You did Veebha! We both know that our relationship was a mistake. If I could go back, I would definitely change my decision because we are not meant to be more than friends. And we both agreed that we will stay as friends and forget whatever that happened between us so why did you tell Nandini that we will get back together?"
"Because I love you Manik. I loved you back then,I still do and always will. I could see that Nandini loved you and that scared me. I can't see you with anyone else. Manik give me a chance again. Please."
Manik looked at her shocked. He didn't expect her to say those things to him. He didn't expect her to be in love with him.
"I love you too Veebha but as a friend. I can never be the way you want me to be. I don't think we can be more than friends. I love Nandini and I don't see myself without her anymore. I'm really sorry Veebha. But I can't give you what you want. I'll always be by your side as a friend."
By now Veebha was totally heartbroken. She felt like she lost everything she had in one minute. Manik's words were ringing inside her head. The last hope she had of having Manik was gone.
She looked at Manik as if trying to memorise his face and left from there without saying anything or looking back.
She went away from them, from Manik forever.
After 2 months
Nobody knows where Veebha went and nobody saw her after that day. She disappeared like clouds, like she was never there.
As for Manan they were happily married and back from their one month long honeymoon with a pregnant Nandini.
The good news was given to the whole family and friends. All were happy and very excited. Cabir,however, didn't lose the opportunity to tease Manan. But Manan got their chance to tease him when the news of Cabir and Navya's marriage was announced.
They were all happy in their own life without any worry or problem.

Hi everyone! It's been so long since updated this story but I was so busy with my studies that I couldn't find time to sit down and write a chapter for you all.
I'm ending this story because I don't think I'll be able to find time to update. I'm so sorry.
When I started writing this story, I wanted to show the married life of Manan but unfortunately that can't happen now.
But hopefully I will come back to India Forums with a new story on Manan's married life when I'm on holidays.
