Contouring the sides of her cheek ..blush glided to melt into her smooth caramel complexion ...looking like a fairy..spotless as they say...a girl decked in all pink ..probably in her twenties was waiting for someone...
" Bestie " - her touchscreen flashed ..without a miss she picked it up and put it on speaker..
Her : Hey Navya ..no he hasn't come yet..
Navya ( on the other side ) : What..wait.. * shouts cabir...*
Cabir : Yeah..I am in kitchen...
Navya puts the phone on hold and rushes to kitchen..Voices mellow down further that..
Navya : He isn't there..when did you last checked on him..?
Cabir : Half an hour ago..he told me..he is going to be there soon..
Navya : Are you sure..
Cabir : Of course sweetheart..
Meanwhile .. a guy well dressed in black zapped into someone's front lawn crushing the fresh lilies as his bike skid ..for the road was still slippery due to heavy rainfall in morning..
"Shit.."- he mumbled as he tried lifting his bike from the whirlpool of all sorts of crushed plants..
Surely that wasn't how he thought .. he would meet the love of his life...well shh..they both don't know yet..let's see what comes ahead..
"What the hell.." - a girl behind him roared like a lioness ..
The poor bloke barely had a chance as the girl plunged into him pushing him with all her might from her garden onto the pavement .."My baby.."-she sulked as she saw her lilies drowned and thumped in deep ..the squashed petals were still stuck in the boy's bike.."I am so sorry..."-she cooed as she picked one of those broken stems and placed it near her heart as she was bidding her final goodbye..
A deep laughter grumbled from nearby..and as she glanced her side she saw the boy biker from before who actually murdered her poor lilies was having a laughter attack..is that even a term..she thought..
"What is your problem.."-she charged ferociously at the biker ..
"First you unexpectedly smashed in my garden destroying all my flowers..do you even know how much effort it takes ..these need to be watered at the right time and then given proper nutrients at their specific bloom cycle ..you know these lilies.."-she pointed the one she just picked up..
" These were specially imported from Germany at my 18th birthday..it was my appa's present .."- she seemed like glancing them in daze when her nose scrunched in rage ..throbbing in flash she launched herself in front of him raising her finger at him in a mad dash-"You should be apologising but no..you are making fun of me..how much shameless can you be..get out of my property.."
"Calm down..I am just going..I am sorry.."-the biker raised his hands up in submission..his eyes were fixed on the five foot girl in front of him who seemed far too interested to care about her smashed lily while she got herself covered in gunk..the frail pink sleeves were dripping with muddy slime and her pink heels.. well they got no pink on them anymore .
Strutting ahead he didn't notice the crooked fence due to which he accidentally tumbled only to be face planted with the nameplate mounted on the wall near the door .
"Nandini Murthy " - exactly how the words were ought to pronounce.
A flick of amusement passed on his face as he read it again and again.
Seemingly irritated by this bypasser's inability to move the girl rushed to the front probably to shoo him away .."What ..what are you looking at..get out before I call the cops.."-she was clearly agitated.
"Cops..you are going to get me arrested..what for ..squashing your ugly lilies..."- the boy seemed pissed
Her mouth opened and closed like a fish as she saw him leaning on her door as he waited for her answer.."Look you Mr.."- she was cut before she could speak any further by the tallest boy she has ever seen who quite clearly was responsible for the mass destruction in her garden as some of those unfortunate lilies were still trailing on his shoe as he moved ahead.
"no..you look miss nandini murthy..you have got to be the most immature.."
"How do you know my name "- Nandini fired..
"Of course..you seem brainless too.."-the boy fazed but spoke again.." Nameplate..you got it for some reason.."
"Now if you excuse me ..I don't do dates with brainless immature self obsessed little girls.."- he turned to make an exit when Nandini who was still listening to his rants jumped right in front of him.
"Oh my god..don't tell me you are the one Navya fixed me with..Manik Malhotra .."-she huffed and crossed her arms in defence.
"Obviously I am the Manik Malhotra..Do you see any other hot and sexy rockstar here..that's me"- the boy smirked as he seemed pleased by reaction of the Lilliputian girl in front of him who was quite literally checking him out.
A sudden squeal broke him through his haze as he saw the Lilliputian was fizzling with mad laughter holding her stomach.
"Hot and Handsome..you say..you are right "
He grinned at the choice of her words..quite happy that his unfathomable charm was still working..though quite shortly his face turned grim as he heard..."Except for the monkey in front of me ..I don't see anyone hot and sexy here.."
Nandini giggled uncontrollably until the hot and sexy dashed out of there in rage...except for once he turned smirking a little .
" Atleast I am better than a wannabe Barbie who is fond of dressing in cotton candy .."-he pointed towards her baby pink gown .."Sorry .."-he spoke after a little while.. then at last added " That more looks like a Spider's web .."- he raised his hand towards the lacy pink sleeves and frizzy bottom splashed with muddy gunk.
And in a flash he disappeared with his bike while Nandini stood there cussing at him loudly and then blasted the poor door to get inside with a final grumble
Once inside Nandini threw her clutch in one aloof corner while her heels in a mad dash went flying to the other side as she kept mumbling - " What the hell does he think of himself..Manik Malhotra or more monkey Malhotra...and who in the right sense comes riding with mad death bike to pickup the girl for their date..of course only the insane one .."
Groggily she plummeted onto her couch while binging on one of her favourite crispy rice puffs as she switched from one daily soap to another for rest of her evening.

"Nandini what do think this or this.."- a girl in mid wet twenties pointed to the two gorgeously netted sarees hanging on either side of the mannequin
"This one .."- Nandini swiped randomly.
"You are right.,This looks lovely ..I think cabir would be very happy when he will finally get to see me in the wedding dress..you know from the long time.."-the girl stopped as she saw Nandini lost in her own thoughts ..though it wasn't the only time..from the past two hours since they have been shopping the ever so cheerful Nandini seemed far too distant as she was rethinking something and in while she would unusually slip one of her frowns .
"Nandu..what are you thinking that got you so mad..I know the date didn't go well but it doesn't mean.."- the girl pushed in when suddenly Nandini bubbled enraging ..- "Well ...WELL..it was DISASTER "
"Nandini .."
"You know Navya ..the guy is a total baboon ..."
Navya who was still quite till now bursted with laughter as she heard her best friend Nandini calling the Manik Malhotra as baboon...with his Greek God looks...Malhotra had quite the impression with ladies until her chotu packet did the final blow shattering his big ego into gazillion little pieces in the process.
"Navya what's so funny.."-Nandini huffed in disappointment
"Aww..Nandu..I am so proud of you.."-Navya cooed as a child and patted Nandini in encouragement all the while ruffling her hairs
"Your top floor okay..I mean with those two idiots I can never say.."- Nandini pointed her fingers at Navya in accusation.
Navya raised her hand as in surrender and said -"Nandu ..what do you mean Haan..Can't anyone laugh ..it's good for your health and don't call Cabir stupid okay..he is very sweet.."
Nandini smiled a little hearing her.."sweet and all Haan..not bad.."- Nandini teased while Navya blushed profusely..
"Okay ..Mrs would be sweet ..let's get your wedding dress..otherwise Mr sweet won't be too happy soon.."- Nandini chimed in she dragged Navya to the changing room for trying dresses one after the another.
After a few more hours with countless no's they finally settled on the peacock blue zari lehnga which coincidentally arrived this late morning and Navya lunged at it as a wild tigress for it quite matched perfectly with her turquoise engagement ring.
"Nandini ..how do I look.."- Navya buzzed swirling her exquisite lehnga ..
"You look absolutely stunning..Cabir will go berserk ..for sure .."- Nandini awed in excitement.
"Great now..we will look for your bridesmaid dress..which color do you want it to be.."- Navya asked ..
Fizzled by the bubble of excitement Nandini swiped her gaze from one corner to other looking for something out of the box when her gaze caught the glimpse of something red ...flicking her wrist she reached to pick it up when suddenly Navya's phone flashed " Cabir "
"Oh god Nandu.."- Navya palpitated ..and then spoke further " I forgot about the invite.."
"What invite.."-Nandini asked befuddled..
"The wedding invite..i am getting married in two days and I forgot to finalise the card..what are we going to do.."- Navya paced in agitation.
"But Navya..you..card..I mean.."-Nandini couldn't find herself finishing the sentence when Navya blurted out -" I know Nandu..I know..no one's coming ..Amma broke all her relations with me after pari.. ..when we.. me and Cabir decided to go for love marriage it was the final blow ..and you very well know Cabir was raised in an orphanage .. "- Navya squirms at distaste..
" Cabir..he doesn't have anyone to call his own except for Manik.."
"Besides pari and Cabir ..you are my only family left.. only friend.."- Navya quivers ..
"Best friend.."-Nandini mumbled..
Navya twitched a faint smile and nodded -" Best friends forever.."
Nandini patted Navya's hand and squeezed it in assurance and urged her to continue.."Nandini..would you promise me something.."-Navya whispered..
"Do you promise to take care of my princess..my pari ..If something happens to me or Cabir.."-Nandini stops Navya from blabbing furthermore as she places her palm on Navya's lips and whispers faintly - "I will always take care of pari and listen to me..Nothing will happen to you or Cabir..life has finally given you the chance to be happy and you will see much beautiful things are waiting ahead..and I don't want you to spoil your mood for it's your wedding in two days and Ms bride-to-be you should be only happy otherwise poor Cabir will get scarred if he sees his bride turned bridezilla .."
Nandini giggles as she watched Navya going red in rage trying to slosh Nandini down throwing random things in her way but couldn't reach her as Nandini moves away every single time while Navya's hand only gets to swoosh the air left behind .
"Wow Stop scaring the people around.."-they both heard a voice and as they turned both turned they found the ones they both least expected.
