Hey guys! I know this FF update date is Saturday but since it's the first chapter I'm updating early :)) also there won't be a character sketch for this story, all characters will be revealed in the story, Mukti, Cabir, Alya and Dhruv are the same, they're exactly how they are in the show. But Manik is different, he isn't arrogant and rude etc. Anyway hope you like!!
Chapter 1:
29th March, 2016 10:48 AM, Mumbai, India:
On the king size bed in the master bedroom of the Malhotra Mansion laid the ever so handsome and charming, rockstar, Manik Malhotra, cherishing the world of slumber in his deep sleep. His sleep was very rudely interrupted by his phone which wouldn't stop buzzing, Manik did everything he could to avoid picking up the call, by hiding his face with a pillow and hiding his ears with his hands but unfortunately this wasn't his day and the caller just wouldn't stop calling him. Tired of fighting for his sleep Manik finally gave up and picked up and spoke in his sleepy husky voice 'hello' 'hello? Hello ka bacha MANIK YOU'RE STILL SLEEPING?' yelled Cabir from the other end of the phone. His yelling immediately alarmed the half asleep Manik and he got up with a jerk, 'Cabir? What do you want man?! Let me sleep!' Manik said being annoyed, 'Manik what I want is my band mate to not miss another concert because of SLEEP! Dude we're all in Shimla, you were supposed to join us after your meeting yesterday.. Our concert is in a few days and our producer wants us all here! He's coming back from London just to meet us so HURRY UP AND GET HERE!' 'Yeah yeah, relax man. I'll be there by tonight don't worry and now bye' Manik cut the call and went back to sleep. However he couldn't avoid the feeling of anxiety, he was very anxious and nervous and he didn't know the reason. Brushing all those thoughts he got up and got ready to leave for Shimla.
Manik Malhotra wasn't just a singer, a superstar and a businessmen now, he was born with stardom with his dad being one of the most legendary actors of all time, Manvik Malhotra (played by Dilip Kumar in this story). He was good looking, charming with a voice of gold, he was every girls' dream and also one of the richest bachelors in the country. He was a part of a band FAB5 with his school best friends Cabir, Dhruv, Alya and Mukti. His friends were his life, and he was their life. As for relationships, Manik believed in light flirting but didn't want to commit to a relationship as his career had just begun.
Manik's POV:
This week is going to be the biggest week in FAB 5's career. We've gotten a contract with Anand Ahuja, the biggest music producer in not only India but also England. If I wanted I could have the best music labels at my feet begging me to sign contracts for them due to being a Malhotra but FAB 5 and I wanted to do everything based on our talent rather than our surname. I take extreme pride in being my dad's son, but my real pride and joy lies within FAB5, my second family. This is such a bug opportunity for us but I can't help being nervous, I'm anxious and getting jitters. I'm unable to understand why. Why do I feel like something big is going to happen. Brushing all those thoughts off I just get dressed and leave the house bidding a final goodbye to my dad. I lost my mom at s very young age due to cancer and since then my dad has been my mom and my dad for me. He is one of the biggest faces of Bollywood yet every time I achieve something he tears up in pride. He has always kept me grounded and taught me the right morals and values which is the result of me being so down to earth today, I love my dad beyond measure and wouldn't change him for the world.
After bidding adieu to dad I sat in my car and started the engine ready to make my way to Shimla, although I just can't shake off this feeling of apprehension. With this anxiety I start my journey hoping it's just pre performance jitters, but I never usually get nervous before a performance than why today? To avoid all the thoughts I put on my music system as music is the only thing that can calm me down when nothing else works. I knew music wouldn't disappoint me it always calms me down, I have a strange love for the songs from the 80's. I just feel so connected to them. It was getting dark out, it was already past 7 and suddenly I noticed a road block. I rolled my window down and asked the police officer what the matter was and he told me there had been a landslide which had caused them to block all roads. He also informed me the roads wouldn't get cleared up before tomorrow afternoon. DAMN IT! This is just what I needed right now. I was getting furious as I didn't even get any service in the middle of the highway. I got out of the car to enquire about any hotels nearby, but unfortunately we were in the middle of nowhere and there weren't any hotels miles away from the place. I went back to my car to figure out what to do, I was contemplating whether to head back home or not, but to my luck I had parked my car on a sharp stone and it punctured one of the tires. I punch the car in annoyance, what the hell am I supposed to do now.
I grab my coat and wallet from the car and make my way around the road to find a place for shelter, a little further from the main road I see a bungalow which looks very old and rustic, maybe no one lives there, but one of the lights was switched on so maybe someone does live there. I made my way to the bungalow, and right now my anxiousness knew no bounds, this place suddenly started to look very familiar. Before I knew it I was standing at the doorstep on the bungalow, this place is making me very nervous for god knows what reason. I avoid all my thoughts and ring the door bell. Whilst waiting for someone to open the door bell I start hearing voices, a very girly and chirpy voice, someone's laughing, my heart starts beating erratically, 'catch me if you can' I hear a girls voice again, she seems very happy and is laughing, her voice is o soothing. I look around to find no one around me, am I hearing things? What the hell is going on??? Suddenly the door opens and a man maybe in his 60's opens the doors. 'Gee beta boliye' he says, he looks very sweet, 'uncle actually the roads are blocked and my car broke down. Their aren't any hotels nearby either, I was looking for shelter and came here. Kya mein aj raat yaha ruk sakta hoon? I can pay you for my stay?' I said in a pleading tone, I really needed shelter as it was now raining as well. 'Zaroor beta, I don't need money. You can stay here.. I live here alone anyway. I'm the care taker of this house' he said smilingly. I smiled at him too he seemed like a nice man. 'Come in' he said and I walked in with him, and suddenly my mind felt as if it would explode, my heart was again thumping against my chest so loud I was afraid the uncle will hear my heart beats, I could feel sweat bands forming on my forehead. All my thoughts and nervousness were put on hold with a halt when I saw a massive portrait in front of me. My mind, my body, my legs everything stopped moving and all that was working was my heart which was beating at an unimaginable speed.
'Uncle yeh kon hai?' I enquired uncle about the portrait, to which he replied 'yeh, is ghar ki malkin hain, Niti Dhillon' he said, hearing the name made me even more anxious, 'toh yeh ab kahaan hai?' I continued my enquiry whilst sweating, 'beta in he mare hue 23 saal ho gaye hain, she died in 1993' he said much to my shock.
