{CHAPTER 5}



"I missed you dad!!! I missed you sooo much... I... I am tired of this mess... I want to be your little angel again... I want to hide in your embrace so that no one can hurt me!" Came shaking voice of muskan who was making its way between her hard sob. Manik felt his heart skipping a beat. He wanted to kill himself for not giving attention to her daughter when she most needed it.

(She missed me! SHE MISSED ME... And what the hell was i doing!!! I am si sorry smile... I couldnt be best dad to you... I couldnt save you and jeep you protected from all the odds of world... I am so sorry sweetheart!!! Am so sorry!!) maniks heart cried out making a unsaid promise to his daughter to protect her from all the odds of the world.

"My smile has to fly... I want you to fight all the odds and take the highest flight... I am gonna watch you shine... I am gonna watch you grow... I am gonna paint a sigh that as long as one and one makes two...there is not gonna be any father who loves his daughter as much as i love you! I will always be there for you."


" Hamesha and forever!!" Whispered manik as he placed light kiss on the top of her head in hairs and sat there hugging each other tightly making unsaid promises to each other for each other by each other.

Breaking the hug, Manik lovingly cupped her face and brushed all the tears off her cheeks and planted a kiss on her forehead "you are, were and always have been my smile... I am always proud of you and will always be there for you!" Said Manik making muskan smile with admiration and hugged him back. Manik could see something different.. Like a different spark in those eyes.

As they walked out, they saw Nandini sitting in the bench in the corridor waiting patiently and partially lost in her own thoughts.

"Nandini!" Manik gently placed his hand on her shoulder bringing her out of her thoughts.

"Uhm? Han!... So! Lets head back home... Its already quiet late! And not to forget Tweetie has a performance to give tomorrow in a feat and even win it!" Ended Nandini with a smile while ruffling muskan's hair a bit affectionately who was already in side hug with Manik. And suddenly a soft figure hug her in a chest crushing hug which was none other than muskan. She was shocked for a moment and as soon as she looked towards Manik; seeing a calm and content smile she sighed and hugged muskan lovingly. She smoothly ran her hand on her head caressing her and planting kisses in her hair timely. Not wanting to disturb them, Manik signalled Nandini to come out as he is going to bring the car on the main gates to drive back home.

Nandini broke the hug and looking lovingly at her she said " i am very happy to see my Tweetie is becoming mature as she realised her mistake and even worked over it before it was too late!"

"All because of you mom!" Said muskan with cheeky smile.

"Hmm i could see u got few things to butter ur dad is it?" Said Nandini pointing towards things kept on the bench behind her in a teasing tone making muskan give a ear to ear smile.

"Uhmm!!! No it still has time! Pleaseee don't tell about this to dad... Pretty please!" Said muskan almost pleading nandini to which she chuckled and gave in. Soon they accompanied manik and drove back home with new emotions no rather emotions which had taken back seat since so long are breathing and blossoming again.

With complete hustle and bustle around the back stage of the auditorium which was being set up for the music fest, a nervous yet confident muskan sat in front of mirror getting last minute touch ups.

(Gawwdd!!! Why the heck am i feeling nervous... Doesnt the emotion knows whos door it is knocking!! But still its natural to be nervous, what i m going to do is highly risky! But i have already done so many blunders so this blunder is for a good!! So let it be... I will do what i have decided... I cant predict dad and moms reaction to it... But it seems right to me out of all the odds! Chillax smile!!! U are burdening ur self so much... I am muskan manik malhotra so why fear when dad is here!" Muskan smiled at her self talk and felt confident about her decision.

"Oh freak! Where is dad and even mom hasnt arrived her i guess!!! Damn!" Blunted out muskan and immediately dished her moms number.

"Hey!" Nandini called out from her back as muskan immediately cut the call as she heard her mom calling out.

"Mom!!! Thank god you are hear!!! Seriously!!!" Muskan exclaimed in a super relived voice to which nandini smiled.

"Mom where is dad?" Asked muskan and seeing a bit tensed look on her face she spoke " its alright mom! I know he must have got stuck somewhere! Work is important too! No worries... " in a normal understanding way but her dejected look and saddened voice dint go unnoticed by nandini.

"No Tweetie! He just called me that he is genuinely stuck somewhere and he will definitely make his presence in the fest for your performance!" Told Nandini only to meet a twinkling eyes with lit up face of her daughter.

"Really mom!"

"Yes! How can he miss out his tweeties solo performance and when Cabir himself has trained his daughter and taught her drums then he surely has to be there to examine that has he trained you well or not!" Said nandini between her laugh which made muskan to chuckle too. Muskan always showed more interest in playing drums than guitar. Though even knowing that her own father was a such a fantastic guitarist, she choose drums because it attracted her interest towards it. Manik never ever wanted to paste orders on her forehead. When he came to know about her interest being in drums rater than guitar he actually made sure she gets best training in drums. Its irrelevant thing to do that you throw your decisons on your kids that we want you to become a doctor, engineer, scientist or whatever. Just because parents want that does it really means that there kid should be wanting that to. Its just like asking a fish to fly and a bird to swim just because fish's parents want her to be like bird and bird's parents wants her to be like fish. Seriously! Are thy ever gonna succeed in doing that... No rather if they push themselves to a extend where they lose everything in that race to swim or to fly!!! Thats a waste of a god's creation because for what job he was systemed for he never got a chance to do that rather was force to do things that he was never in his processing system.

"Ohky! I should be going now!! And will be waiting for the best solo performance! I know my Tweetie will definitely win!" Said Nandini caressing her cheek lightly and walked away.

"Damn! Mom has high hopes like really high hopes from my performance... On which i am not even confident!! How disappointed mom will be if i don't win the fest!" Thought muskan slightly biting her nails out of anxiety an nervous ness. When you see such high hopes on you in your parents eyes, it give you a sense of pride but a lot of anxiety and nervousness with one question in you head "will i be able to stand on their expectation!". Always remember that you are never given a responsibility by divine which you cannot fulfil. He will never burden you beyond your capacity. Give it your 100% and a best shot and wait for divine to do his magic. If that little good sided conscious inside you screams out good and a green go signal for something between all the bad around you. Go for it!. It will surely get the best out of you.

"Hey! Muskan, bachha! You are the next performer go rush near the stage!" Said almost panicked voice of Ms Biswas.

"Uhm... Ms biswas! Actually-" started muskans but she was cut by her teacher again " yeah and one more thing get your instruments tuned and get them back stage! Now!" Saying this she left.

"Hmm! Chalo, one huddle crossed with out any effort!" Sighed muskan and rushed towards the instrument store. If you are doing something whole heartedly with pure emotions than even destiny helps you to achieve it. And soon she rushed back towards the stage.

"Muskan!!! Go fast!" Screamed ms Biswas and soon she was shocked to see the instrument in her hand "muskan what is this for!"

"Sorry ms Biswas but i really have to do this... I will bear the consciences later!" Mummered a polite apology to her teacher with whom she was so attached. She was one hell of most loving affectionate teacher she has ever meet. She was a guide in true sense.

Ms Biswas trusted her but still she was scared with what will happen next but before she could say anything to muskan she was already on stage.

Nandini was all excited as soon as her daughters name was announced. She gasped at the sight she saw. While muskan eyes were searching for her dad. Soon her face fell as he saw vacant seat beside her mom.

As the curtain rose and spotlight fell on her and all the crowd was hooting enthusiastically. Muskan closed her eyes to compose herself. Sometimes there is no next time no second chances no time out its always now or never. She knew she will stand by her decision and perform for herself. Only one last wish she could ask for was to get her dad here.

Yooo beautiful earthlings!!! I have tried to get a hand on all phases and facts we face in our life at some point of time... If i unintentionally made someone feel bad or hurt your feeling them i am genuinely sorry. You all might have your point of view and can be quiet different as life doesn't throws same shit on everyone. You are free to express them and share them.

How was it??? I actually wrote in quiet hurry as i have my exam approaching and gave tons and tons of books to study!!! Bless me!! It was bot upto the mark are something... I am sorry pakka will make upto you in next chapter!!

So now question is! Will manik make up to the fest for his daughter? What has shocked everyone beyond withs? And what problem that seems right to muskan has he fallen in? Will she be able to win and meet the expectations of her parents?
