While I do agree that Manik does use the 'Give and take' funda in various situations of life in his own way.. even with the ppl he loves, his sacrifice wasn't on the basis of that imo. There wasn't a single reason for his sacrifice. In his mind, he is the bad boy, Dhruv the good boy and Nandini the good girl. When Dhruv mentions about the arrangements he did to propose her, and that she is perfect, it kinda hit him hard inside. It made him feel that Nandini deserved someone like Dhruv n not him. Plus as the most selfless friend(obviously) that he was, him hurting Dhruv would've been next to impossible. He had to hurt one of the two and he chose Nandini coz he did not realize the intensity of the feelings they had for each other. Plus he owes his life to Dhruv isn't it? Manik had to make a choice and he did. And whatever the result, was important as you said. Some lessons learnt.. some truths seen.. We often don't value what comes easily to us.. and that what we get after a lot of struggles is what remains special forever. MaNan's struggle to be together forever is one such tale.😳
Oh yeah completely agree with you I completely forgot about this, it was sort of a mixture of the two things. But yes definitely Dhruv being the good guy in his eyes and himself the monster played a lot on how he reacted to the situation.
Remember when he goes to Dhruv something along the lines of, you, how could you love her, tum kais pyar kar sakta to usa. But after he just realised what had happened like you said, he realised that Dhruv on paper was the better guy for her.
It was about dhruv being the ideal boy for Nandini but also because he knew he couldn't do that to dhruv. LIke you said he owed his life to him so he had to give Nandini to him as well. Especially because in the episodes prior to him finding out he was giving Dhruv pep talks all about love and how any girl would be lucky to have him.
Bold:⭐️⭐️ That's such a perfect description. 😃
But Manik just didn't see that Nandini had already chosen for herself and accepted him. There never was a chance for Dhruv, she didn't have any feelings for him at all. She had made up her mind a long time ago (Diwali night - she was already feeling something but not knowing about Alya was the only thing hanging over her and stopping her) and gave it an official confirmation by telling things about her no one knew, like the fireflies and letting him kiss her. Later on remember when Manik asked Dhruv whether he knew anything about the fireflies around the time of Musicana and Dhruv had no idea. Nandini allowed him to enter that very personal space of hers.
