Chapter 1
Nandini Talwar - The only daughter of Dr. Madhav Talwar and Ragini Talwar, a tomboy, inspired by the tales of her aunt, she decides that she will only agree for a love marriage. She tries to place the boys she know in her love frame but falls for Manik who is coming from a meek background.
Manik Malhotra - A middle class boy who sticks to his ethics no matter what. He was a young politician few years back, now a hardworking youth who is a Kung Fu tutor and has great interests in farming. Riches are never his cup of tea, a guy who is against the show off of the rich people and the back stab of poor.

Voice Over :
October 18, 1991, @Bombay Hospital; "Ghor Baarish ho rahi hai bahar...! Like any other Doctor, Dr. Madhav Talwar bhi apni biwi ki delivery kisi aur doctor ko dekar, Maternity ward ke bahar idhar-udhar ghuum raha hai"
Nurse comes out of the Maternity room.
"Congratulations Mr. Madhav, you are blessed with a baby boy" Nurse said with a smile on her face.
"Praise the Lord" Madhav said smiling.
"Oh..! that's great..!" peon Shankar, who had been seeing Madhav walk in anticipation few minutes ago now spoke.
Madhav smiled as Shankar spoke "You need to thank Lord, as you have got a son! If it was a girl, then there would have been a lot of problems, as the girl grows tensions increase. Then you will have to get her married. At the last stages of life, only sons would be there by your side" Shankar completed his views on preferring a son over a daughter.
As the they talk, Nurse again comes out of the Maternity ward and says "Sorry Sir, there was a mistake. You are blessed with a baby girl" she said smiling and handed over the new born baby into Madhav's arms.
Madhav turned towards Shankar and glared. "Praised the Lord AGAIN" Madhav said again.

Voice Over (Male) : "This is her story..! A heart touching story of her battles, her sorrows and about the uncountable tears she shed..."
Voice Over (Female) : "Oh Mister ! This is not a mega serial..! This is the story of my life, so I will narrate it !"
Nandini's POV
"This starts years ago... Oh... nooo!!!!!! Not as early as 1990's ! It all began from 2005 !"
"This was my pathetic look when I was in grade10 so don't get scared. "
"Again galati... Sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Nandini Talwar, Dr. Madhav and Ragini Talwar's only daughter."
"Yeh hai mera Papa ! Dr. Madhav Talwar... Lokon ke Pyaar re Madhu Doctor. Me and Mama are his first priorities...! Recording his own song and listening to it is his favourite hobby !... And... According to him, a Doctor should at least make a medicine of himself, for this reason Papa has a small laboratory in his consulting room."
"Yeh hai meri Mama... Ragini Talwar, Mumbai University mein lecturer hai. Bahut ki sweet and loving."
"Cooking Mama ki all-time favourite hobby hai.. Aur mujhe cooking bilkul bhi accha nahi lagta ! Khud khaana banake taste karna aur compliment karna Mama ki adat hai !"
"Girls don't sit like this ! Put your legs closer" Mama told me as I was watching a T.V program. I hate it when Mama says like this.
"OOo" I was whistling when I heard my Mama scold me again "Girls don't whistle...!"... I ignored that and headed towards my room.
Mama says I was supposed to be born as a boy, while Papa says I am a boy who looks like a girl.
