Chapter 5 A:
Manik was taking quick steps towards nandini who was still facing her back towards him.he took a deep breath and said "hi".nandini was startled and looked back as she saw manik she smiled and said"hi...you scared me." "sorry i didn't mean to"apologized manik."that's okey"said nandini and again smiled.now there was a awkward silence between them...couple of years back no one would ever believe that there will be a awkward situation between the two best friends...but unexpected things always happen life and we cant do anything about it.
here manik and nandini were standing in front of a beach...their favorite hangout place as not much people used to come here.no one was talking when manik could not take it any more he just hugged her.at first she was shocked but then she gave in.they were in each othes arms after such a long time.manik felt his shirt getting wet so he broke the hug and looked at nandini "why are you crying?" manik asked worriedly."nothing...its just that...i missed you so much"saying this tears started flowing continuously from her eyes."i missed you too"replied manik and hugged her again."now stop crying and lets go inside"said manik wiping her tears and held her hand and they went inside.
they sat on they wet sand tanking in the beautiful view in front of them.they looked towards the horizon where they sky and sea were meeting. sun was setting and the sky was a mix of orange red yellow.and the sound of waves made it more beautiful!
"so hows life going?"asked manik breaking the silence."great!...how are you and are uncle aunty fab 5 navya abhi and..."asked nandini excited to know about all of them."wait...wait calm down girl...i am fine...mom and dad are also good...and coming to fab 5 we all are great as well...we have released 4 albums which were a huge hit and now in a month we will start recording for another album...we also have done some tours."said manik."wow thats great you all deserve all this...i am so happy for you all and i have heard your songs and they are just amazing!"said nandini with huge smile."what about navya and abhi?"asked nandini."oh!navya and cabir are married now for 1 year and they have kid sameer whom you met that day."said manik .hearing this nandini was all excited and shocked she towards manik and bombarded him with questions"WHAT when did they get married?! and sameer is their kid but how is that possible because sameer is 7 years old and before 7years from now they did not have kids!" "oh ya cabir and navya adopted him...they found him in an orphanage and decided to take care of him."explained manik.
"oh!and what about abhi mukti dhruv and alya?"nandini again asked."dhruv and alya are engaged and mukti and abhi are also in a relationship"said manik."wow...a lot has happened since i left!"said nandini looking a bit sad."now you tell me about your life"said manik trying to divert the topic.
"there is nothing much to tell about me when i moved to USA i completed my further studies and then got a internship and started working in the hospital after couple of years they gave me an offer to work in the branch of the hospital in mumbai so i came back to India!"said nandini."oh! and what about your friends there...and do you have a boyfriend?"asked manik secretly crossing his fingers praying that she had no boyfriend.listning to this nandini's eyes lit up"friends...there are many...but my bestest friend ever is aryaman...he worked in the same hospital as me...i miss him badly!...and boyfriend...nope i have no one"said nandini.manik was already upset with the fact that nandini had such pictures on facebook with her and now nandini referring him as her bestest friend ever made him ever more sad as it was his title some years back.and they started talking for hours sitting on the beach.
suddenly manik asked "why did you leave nandini?".she was shocked hearing that she knew he would ask but she was not prepared for it what would she say that she left because she could not see him with soha?...wait where is soha now?...are they still together?thinking all this she just asked him "where is soha now?" "soha?from where did she come from?"asked manik all surprised."what do you mean by from where did she come from...she was or probably is your girlfriend!"said nandini."oh!soha she was not my girlfriend i mean she was but only because her dad and my dad were business partners and dad said to behave nicely with her as she was only there for two weeks and then she proposed me and said that we will be in a relationship only for two weeks and so i couldnot say no to her and we broke up on the graduation day the same day on which you left!"said manik explaining everything to nandini and was kind of annoyed with the topic of soha.
"WHAT!why did you not tell me that before?"said nandini literally shouting."i tried telling you but after soha proposed me you were hardly talking to me and ignoring me all the time i thought you were stressed because of your results and i was going to tell you after the graduation but by then you...but wait why the hell are we talking about soha?"said manik annoyed."what do you mean by why the hell we are talking about her and if i knew all this before maybe i wouldn't had left in the first palce!"blurred nandini not thinking about what she was saying."wait WHAT!"said manik all shocked and confused.
