CHAPTER 8 (D)

FACE-OFF!!

Nandini reached near Bosco and stood in front of him...Bosco smiled seeing her...

Bosco- Hey Nandini...what are you doing here...sorry your friends...they are Losers...I always told you to be on my side... (he said that in a flirting tone)...

That was it for me and I went towards them and was about to speak when Nandini stopped me by her hand...I was dammm shocked and stunned... She just sarcastically smiled at Bosco and then looked straight into Bosco's eyes and then spoke with her one eyebrow up...

Nandini- Loser...Really Bosco...

(Bosco's victory smile was wiped off his face...he was stunned by her words...)

I couldn't move nor did anyone...They both kept looking into each other's eyes and no oof us knew what was happening...

BOSCO'S MIND (FLASHES)-

A FEW YEARS BACK -

ENGINEERING COLLEGE, ANNUAL COLLEGE WEEK...

Bosco was dancing and then had challenged the other group for a face-off...His group was winners of that face-off...they called their opponents Losers...A girl heard it, she was friend's with the group who had lost in the face-off... She was the main organizer of the fest...she kept her bag aside...and stopped Bosco...

"Loser...Really Bosco..."

Bosco- I'll love to get defeated by you beautiful... (he always flirted with her, but never succeeded...)

The next minute the girl pushed him a bit and the music started...

GIRL- Bring it on...(she had some confidence and fire in her...)

Bosco- Well, if you say so...

PRESENT-

Nandini snapped her fingers near Bosco's eyes...(he gets out of his thoughts)... Every single person there was zapped and trying to understand what were Nandini and Bosco communicating with their expressions... Bosco had a faint smile recalling things... and said something which left all of us stunned...

Bosco- Nandini...(with his eyes down and smiled looking around...) same fire...after soo many years...aaahhaaa...

Nandini didn't reply... Before Bosco could say something we are again amazed by Nandini's move... Nandini had pushed him a bit behind...His group members came a bit in front and then Bosco stopped them...

Bosco- guys its between us...don't step in...

Nandini- Bring it on...(she had some confidence and fire in her...)

Bosco- Well, if you say so...

BOSCO'S MIND (FLASHES)-

Bosco went first...and then passed to her to start...The girl started with her strong dance moves, her every moment was so powerful...her spins, her every hip-hop moment, locking and popping was impactful...she wasn't technically sound, but had power to break anyone with her moves...Bosco was surprised and was taking time to realise she was dam good...

PRESENT

I wanted to stop her from breaking down if in case she fails in the face-off...I managed to finally speak... "Nandini, you don't have to..."

Nandini didn't reply me...She kept looking at Bosco who was having some water...She stretched her neck on both sides and then raised her hand interlocked in the air. And then got them down...she stretched her neck once again... rolled her shoulders once...

The music started with some beats remixed from the song...I Am So Lonely Broken Angel...

Before Bosco could start unlike their past Nandini started the face-off... She had a smooth body wave movement to start...and then did a hip-hop moment which made her come in centre stage...

(Everyone was spell bound by her body wave, it was smooth like water...my breath was stuck in my mouth)

Bosco was taken aback by this...he thought like earlier he would start...Nandini walked 2 steps close to Bosco and raised her one eyebrow...

Then she turned and took 2 steps back...The music changed to Muqabla Mubala soft remix...with hard and edgy hip-hop beats...

Bosco started on the beats and 1^st 2 lines of the song..

Muqala Muqabala laila oh ho laila
Muqabala SubhanAllah Laila oh ho laila

(He was quickly interjected by Nandini with her floor movements smooth and firm...)

apna qafila jab pyaar se chala
logon ka dil jala
yaaron ka dil mila
mohobbat ka yehi silsila (o-weyo)

Bosco then again showed his best MJ moves...and some swift moves with so much aggression... Nandini waited for him to finish his move this time...(her eyes fixed on Bosco's every move...as if she wanted to read his moves and then reply...)

Nandini took the lead again on lines...

Bandook ko taan kar goli chalane se
pyaar kabhi marta hai kya

machli pakad ne ka jaal bichaa ne se
amber ke tare pahste kya

bhookamp aaye to kyaa
bhumi phat jaye to kya

Bosco came with his sharp summersault and some steps of House dance form...

Muqabala SubhanAllah Laila oh ho laila

Then there just beats...and Nandini caught every single beat spot on...

Bosco was having a hard time competing...He knew the fire she had inside was ignited... Both didn't back off...and then the DJ upped the music levels...I went a bit close to Nandini, but she moved away and then turned back to me and said... "Tissue..."

"hhmmm..." She glared at me..."What"...i quickly gave her my handkerchief and she wiped her face... The music was up...It was time for some sharp edgy moves...this time the beats were a mix perfect for some Latin dance moves and some storming and crumping moves...

Bosco started again...Nandiini's body by now was very aggressive as a dancer...she watched Bosco sharply...gave him a chance to show his best...he danced for almost more than one minute and everyone thought Nandini has given up...coz face-offs mean outbeating the other...

We were then surprised by her sharp strategy...she looked like a champion in Dance face-offs... she was actually waiting for Bosco to get out of breath...she started with moving her body with her waist moments, with such ease as if she it was doing something very simple...I just couldn't take my eyes off her waist...Sam exclaimed then...

Sam- dammm they are such difficult moves and to keep it up with leg movements is so difficult 😲...and she is just doing it so casually...Dammm

We all looked at Nandini she was dancing as if on one was watching...she did a solo section of Salsa...then reached where Bosco stood...she held Bosco by his shirt, got him a bit close first...looked straight in his eyes and jerked him back... And then took spin after spin with a such speed that left everyone stunned...

Wit her last spin she in two moments reached Bosco and put her right hand on his shoulder and started to move forcing Bosco to go behind...he tried to dance and fight, but Nandini was too aggressive and kept taking him back..people behind Bosco his group members went aside...Nandini kept taking Bosco behind like that with her moves ...Bosco knew her final blow is gonna come now...

Nandini then stopped taking Bosco back and then took a spin around him which somehow made Bosco lose his balance and he was about to fall when Nandini caught his hand... She smiled at Bosco...

BOSCO'S MIND (FLASHES)-

That girl kept taking Bosco back...people behind him, his group members went aside...She kept taking Bosco behind like that with her moves... Bosco struggled to match up, but couldn't and gave up in front of her sharp spins and powerful moves...He was about to fall when the girl caught his hand... She smiled at Bosco...

Bosco just stared at her...She got Bosco up...

PRESENT

Bosco just stared at her...Nandini got Bosco up...They kept looking at each other...Nandini was now out of breath too... Nandini's friends, FAB 5 we all were jumping out of happiness and were shouting her name on the top of our voice...We were mesmerised by her moves, her confidence, her fire...I couldn't believe my eyes...

She stood there for some time...unlike other people when they win she didn't react...she kept looking at the ground...we all were about to hug her, when she stopped all of us... We were shocked by her expression...We all stopped...She still kept looking at the ground... We couldn't understand what had happened to her suddenly...

But then she got her face up and kept looking at something...I just couldn't understand what happened to her...then I saw her eyes were full of anger, and tears had welled up in her eyes... I had never seen such eyes, there was anger and pain...but she didn't speak a word, or let anyone come near her... She closed her eyes and let the tears flow on her cheeks...

I had never seen a girl like that before...She was strong, unlike others she knew how to keep that pain inside her and not let it out... After the tears came, she then looked towards Bosco... It was very clear that she was accusing Bosco of something...Her eyes said that clearly...

Bosco was stunned by her expression...He then got a worried look on his face and started walking towards Nandini...

Bosco- Nandini, I am sorry...I never meant to...

He was sincerely apologising her...but for what, everyone thought...

Bosco- Nandini, I...I...I know I broke my promise...

Everyone was shocked...what promise...according to her friends Nandini knew Bosco only due to Sam and his rivalry...then what promise is he talking about... Then Kafeel spoke...

Kafeel- Guys does Nandini know Bosco from before??? She never told us anything like that...

We all looked at him and the question was across our minds too... .

Bosco- Nandini, why did you come for the face-off, you shouldn't have...But, honestly I am happy to see that glimse of old Nandini...

Nandini finally spoke...

Nandini- you knew I hated that word LOSER'...

Bosco- dammm (he was angry on himself...) how could I forget...

Bosco - Nandini, please...I know what you have been through and I had promised you even though how bad my fights will be with Sam, I'll never get you involved in this matter...

Nandini- But you did...

Bosco- Sorry..., I, I really respect you a lot...and you know it...

Nandini didn't speak a word after that... She came towards Sara took her blazer and bag, and without looking towards anyone she started to walk towards the exit... Bosco kept calling her from behind, but she didn't stop... We tried to call her, but she didn't stop... I began to walk behind her coz I wanted to be with her and then Bosco held me...I was shocked why he stopped me and wasn't letting me go...

Bosco- Manik, don't go...please...

"But why?? Leave me I wanna go..." I was angry on him...Nandini by then had reached the exit... The club manager had now got the crowd dispersed...Bosco turned towards us all...

Bosco- Sam, I am sorry...i shouldn't have...Nandini... Nandu...I shouldn't have...(he sounded guilty)

Mukti- But, why aren't you letting us go behind her...are you crazy...

Bosco- Guys, please if you really value her, don't speak to her about tonight...never ask her anything...please, it's a request...

Bosco folded his hands in front of us...

Bosco- Please...

Finally I asked him "But why?? Do you know her personally??"

Bosco- Manik that's not important...vaise Yes...I know her since our Engineering Days...she was a great friend, I really respected her...After so many years I saw that same fire in her eyes, same confidence while dancing...and ya how can I forget her favourite style of beating the opponent in a dance face-off...God, still she has that sharpness and power...(he was smiling while telling this)...Guys, I don't want to tell anything more...But, yes you guys are blessed to have a friend like her...But, don't speak to her about tonight please...It's a request...and please don't judge her...she is too good for everyone...

Bosco then left... I told FAB 5 that I'll go and check on her...

PRECAP-

I spotted Nandini outside the club, she was siiting on a bench nearby... Without turning towards me...she spoke...

Nandini-Manik please go...

I came across this beautiful piece of writing and I reserved my comment :P so that I can post a longgg comment once I'm done with all the parts..so here I am :D

I just want to say that I'm loving your story..It is so different the storyline is so unique...I have read many fan fictions here and I loved all of them (No doubt IF is full of great writers) but at some point the story starts becoming predictable...but your story is just awesome...I was like how did she came up with such unique storyline..I mean this is something called 'creativity'..you very well know how to play your cards and keep your readers hooked to your story..I would say well done!

Now I just can't wait to read next part so continue soon..actually super soon
