CHAPTER 7
NANDINI'S P.OV
Friends were life to me at some point but when I had decided to have no more of them, I had already decided and then, when I was left alone with Kris, I had this drastic change in myself. And now, when I am standing with them, walking with them who just talked to me a minute ago as a loyal friend, I can't help but regret of not meeting them before.
"Nandini, how do you do in English?" Matt walked beside me and Mukti and Navya walked ahead.
"I love English, so I am apparently doing superb!" I replied to Matt with a glee in my voice. English is my first temptation and its accent is the second! I loved the Spanish and British accent from the day I had heard them.
"That's lovely!" Matt passed me a smile.
As we reached up to the class, I found the class seats almost filled.
"Would you mind sitting with me?" Matt nuzzled in my year and I started dancing in my mind.
"I would love to Matt!" I said and followed him to a seat which was in front of Mukit's and Navya's.
Now let me tell you Matt is a hot guy. He is one of the most charming guys of the college. And as you know people in USA aren't narrow-minded but the thing is if a guy with looks like this would stick more to his gender, the girls would surely start hating him. Incredible, every girl in this college is furiously obsessed by him.
"So tell me something about yourself!" I demanded with a curious look.
"I am Matt Ryder. I am a gay. I am studying business. I have my mother as my whole family but still I am rich." I havn't seen a decent guy like him I accept.
"And you're the nicest guy of the school!" I added in a glimpse and he grinned to me.
"I heard it from you for the first time!" He exclaimed and I grinned too.
"Don't worry Matt, almost all the girls here are either s**ts or brunettes who are just indulged with bed activities, flirting activities or make-up activities!" I threw up the line just to calm him down. But, he wasn't zoned out either.
"I really wish, I could have met you before!" He mentioned with saddening eyes and I chuckled.
"No problem, we have met now!" I am a bubbly girl so I literally hopped out of my seat saying that.
"So, I am your brother now! And yeah, if you just get stuck into any sort of problem, you will have to come to me! That's a must!" He chuckled and blurted out the kindest words.
"Ryan said the same thing! I love this brotherly love! It's for free right? Or I need to do something?" I loved our talk too.
"What sort of thing?" He asked with shock written in his eyes.
"Like hug you every morning, do the match-makings and all sort of!" Now you need to agree I am hell lovely girl.
His lips spread into a smile. "It will cost that miss. Anyways, how did you neet him?"
"Him, who?" Now where di this him came from.
"Manik, he didn't really talk to you first, then, how?" Seriously, that was the single moment I wasn't blushing and Matt filled up that space too.
"Long story, I'll tell you later, promise!" I made an excuse as the teacher had some and I hadn't planned to get a detention.
MANIK'S P.O.V
I moved on to the class with Ashton and Ryan, her fragrance still in my hands, which held clue of her being near me. Such a beautiful one! If I was a girl, I would really ask her the secret of her aura.
"So you like her?" Ryan asked and my cheeks turned to shades of pink.
"Jesus, you would kill me if I say yes! But yeah, it's a yes!" I replied reluctantly.
"Why the hell would I kill you? I am happy for this thing and I am not gonna hurt you until you hurt her!" He gave me a relaxed look but still completed his warning.
"I promise not hurt her!" I did owe him that. I knew Ryan was close to her.
"Nice choices anyway, dude! She's someone who just keeps you up! I can't believe she did it in such a short span of time!" Ashton spoke up and I too gave him a nod of disbelief.
"Thanks buddy!"
"Get ready for the class. The holy mother of cowshed and lasagna!" Ryan swears and we chuckled at his weird style of swearing!
As the last class got over, I had become eager to have a glimpse of Nandini who was nowhere to be seen around. I had asked everyone but she wasn't inside college. I started to tense up a bit but got myself chilled down thinking if she would have left earlier.
As I trailed down my way to the parking lot of the college I saw Kris and her sitting on a bench talking about something serious. I got another way back and proceeded towards them. Their back faced me. Now as I was able to hear them perfectly, I came to know they were talking about to me. I figured out that I shouldn't hear their talk but something held me back and I eavesdropped on them.
NANDINI'S P.O.V
Kris and I had decided to have a talk after school. So, as the bell rung I hurried up my way to the bench outside the school and I got greeted by the warm embrace of hers.
"Hi Nans!" She greeted with a glee written on her face. It marked Ryan!
"Hi love-sick-puppy." I was so in the mood to teases the hell out of her. Her cheeks hit the shades of red and I just awe at her.
"So what all happened, you gotta give me some details!" I pounced over her making her sit at the bench and asked.
"Nothing, the kisses, the hugs and the care, nothing to elaborate, I swear!" She was still blushing. The heat had reached up to her years.
"Okahe, fine, if you say so!" I rubbed her back to make her feel relaxed.
Silence covered the thin air between us. This was something new. Kris and Me had never felt awkward with each other. Oh wow, guess that's the side effect of having a boy by your side. I chuckled at my thought.
"Now, about you and Manik!" Kris took out that topic spontaneously and it was my turn to blush.
"And please, it's not sorted out between you two, so you need to give me details!" Kris sapped again. I guess Ryan had told her everything!
"He asked me out but I just declined. You know we ought to be friends first." "It's like, yeah, his presence is all good over me and he's saying sorry all the time also for those mistakes he hasn't done" "I mean yeah, he's is hell cute and I feel high around him" I stopped a bit. "It's just that..."
Kris met my eyes which held nervousness in them. "That.." Kris held on to my sentence.
"It's just that, I don't get him! Like a day ago, he was the bad boy of the school, and now he is being so damn nice to me! I want to be with him, I just love our talks but I am scared just a little part of that, what if he is using me? You know, my heart says he isn't and my mind is against it! I am in a sucked up situation! I really can't help it! I am scared, I know this moment is real but what if the next minute it's turns out all to be just a game!"
"It will all be okay! He's a nice guy! Trust me! Okahe?" Kris consoled me and I gave her a agreeing smile.
I blurted out. At least I opened myself up in front of her. It felt good. It felt damn good.
The only thing was I didn't know he was there listening to me.
"Nandini, can we talk for a minute?" That was the fourth time of the day I heard his voice but this time I was taken by surprise. What the hell was he doing here? Had he heard all of what I said? Shit!
"Manik, listen..." I was about to have my defence when he interrupted me again.
"Please, just one talk! I ain't gonna judge you!" At least that single sentence of his made me feel relaxed.
Kris sensed the situation and started to leave. "I will catch up with you later."
After she left, a silence overtook between us.
"I heard you." Manik started in a whispering voice and I hung down my face feeling a lot guilty and feeling a lot awkward at the same time.
"Nandini, I am so glad I heard you! I mean, I just got to know how you feel about me!" He continued and I thought he was taunting me in some way.
"Manik, listen I am sorry..." I got interrupted.
"No Nandini, I know the reputation that I have made being a bad boy can't afford to have a decent girl like you! I know I have been such a jerk to I guess almost three fourth of the college and once to you! I know I ain't the one for you..."
"Manik, you said you heard me, right! Then it's either the thing that you're deaf or it's just that you are just faking yourself now! Because I so clearly said I want to be with you! I love our talks! I do feel when I'm around you! And yeah just don't come to the deserving level!" I was about to cry but I just bounded myself somehow.
"Nandini, I'm sorry! I must be overthinking! I am sorry about that! But I just felt sad about you! Look if you don't think of me the way I do, we can just stop! I won't force you, I promise!" Gosh! I really need to stop him from overthinking because this boy will have the death of me anytime soon.
"You think like that? That's disgusting Manik!" I said in a teasing tone but still my voice was shaky because of all the sadness.
"Hey, I mean, you know, I like you and I just havn't felt it for a lifetime! It's just..." Now this was all he wanted to say all the time. Couldn't he say it before!
He was stopped by me. He was stopped by my hug. I just pounced over his arms and he was taken by surprise for a good amount of time. I waited for him to hug back and he did. He placed his hands either side of my body and hugged me back. He tightened the hug and pulled me closer. His breaths smoothened my ear and nuzzled into them.
I was sure of one thing. We were smiling like two idiots! Oh shit!
"If you have forgotten then let me tell you, you have lost the game!" He mentioned still hugging me and I let out a loud chuckle.
"I don't regret it until this is the price!" I replied and he hummed in an answer.
Wow! This was an ethereal moment.
Everything has its own way of speaking. Thus, we can never say we were less provided. I held on to his arms and he held on to mine and we did speak that way. Anyways, I was just scared what if someday his lack of presence, his absence would leave me speechless! He said me that speechlessness was something he loved of me, because every time he placed his lips over mine I was something similar to the word called SPEECHLESS. I wish I had never met him. Because the amount of happiness I got being with him was becoming much for me to consume. I was scared what if the happiness consumes me in if I couldn't consume in it but again he sensed me and said that we would consume it together and if we can't happiness will have to consume us together!
