Manik & Nandini - Stars & Fireflies 88

every once in a while life throws some magical moments in our ways.. the moments which make us alive, the moments which give us hope, the moments when we find ourselves, these moments which give us unconditional and never ending love and in these are the moments when fairty tales are made and eternal love stories are are born...

as manik and nandini sat in each other's lap kissing away their pains, the emptiness in them was filled by love.. they didn't care about the world around them cause their world them.. it was a perfect setting.. calm beautiful sea witnessing their love with the waves dancing to the tunes produced by their silent heart.. after a long time finding themselves short of breathe they pulled apart resting their heads against each other.. their eyes were closed and smile played on their lips.. nandini slowly opened her eyes to find manik looking at her with all his love.. she blushed and looked down with her cheeks turning red.. "nandini look at me.." manik's husky voice made her look into his eyes.. "i love you nandini.. that's all i can say I love you and i will always love you..my love for you grows infinitely with every passing second.." manik spoke while cupping her face..."you are the reason i get up in the morning.. you are the reason i sleep peacefully at night.. there is no manik beyond nandini.." hearing these words a brightest smile came on nandini's face, she pecked on is forehead and said "there is no nandini beyond manik.." and crashed into is chest as if trying to hide herself from the world and he took her in is warm embrace with every cell of is body promising to protect her from every evil..

after spending some blissful moments with each other.. manik and nandini decided to go back home.. as they walked in with the numerous shopping bags they found the besties gayatri and kavari aka dj and ams sitting and gossiping.. "are bacche aa gaye.." ams welcomed both of them and as soon as she saw the shopping bags "aiyyo itni shopping? kya hai yeh?" ams exclaimed.. nandini went to her and explained that since she is going to london in two days she has or rather manik did that all for her.. ams came to manik and put her hands on his head and said "you are such a sweet boy.." dj found this as a perfect opportunity to pull his leg and said "haan very sweet poora laddo hai mera manik.." "what ladoo.." ams couldn't stop herself from laughing as manik shot glares at dj.. "aise look kya de raha hai ladoo." dj said ignoring manik while nandini found it hard to stop herself from bursting into laughter..

dj turned towards ams and continued "arre kaveri he was a fatso as a kid like a ladoo so i call him ladoo and he is very very sweet..he is the apple of my eyes.." as dj continued to narrate the most embarrassing tales of manik's childhood manik was looking for a place to hide and never to be found and nandini was dying of laughter which irked manik more... soon unable to see is macho image being torn apart by his very own dj manik stomped off the room.. nandini quietly followed manik as he sat on the bonnet of the car as a grumpy 5 year old.. nandini cleared her throat to get his attention.. he looked at her and complained "why were you laughing? bada maza aa raha tha na sabko.. i mean i am manik, the manik malhotra aur wahan dj she made me ladoo.." manik kept complaining like a 5 year old and nandini kept smiling at his innocence.. nandini went close to him and put her finger on his blabbering mouth.. manik gave her 'what are you upto?' look .. "manik malhotra you speak too much some times..." nandini said seductively hearing which manik held nandini's waist and pulled her closer saying "so silence me up.." nandini blushed with the sudden turning of tables.. she could not look into his eyes even after him asking her to do so.. "you know what i love most about you? when you blush even at the slightest and smallest of things.. it makes you just irresistible.."

their romantic moment was disturbed by chahci's call and finding the appropriate moment nandini freed herself from manik's hold nandini ran inside the house.. "nandini.." manik shouted and she paused and turned back "i am not done yet with what all make you irresistible talk..its pending princess.." he winked and blew a kiss to her as she blushed and ran inside.. as soon as manik came inside the house chachi said "come on everyone let's have dinner.." as soon as manik heard these words panic hit him and he looked for ways to avoid the dinner.. ams who was observing manik came close to him and whispered "don't worry yeh khanan nandini ki chachi ne nahi maine aur tumhari dj ne bananya.." manik sighed as soon as he got assurance from ams and happily joined them for dinner..

after the happy meal it was time for dj to bid goodbye to her friend.. as dj brought her car nandini knew manik will stay back and sneak in later so she sat thinking all sorts of excuses to make ams not sleep with her.. just as she was thinking she got manik's text to meet him at terrace.. nandini was panicked as to what new stuff he is planning.. she slowly sneaked on to terrace when dj and ams were busy in another round of gossip before the goodbye..

she went on to the terrace and carefully closed the door and found him standing and watching his favourite stars.. she ran to im and said "manik please don't do anything stupid.. i am thinking of something so that ams.." but manik didn't let her complete and put his finger on her mouth.. "shhh! hear me first what i am gonna say and then start panicking.." manik said and nandini gave him a doubtful look.. manik cupped her face with his hands and continued "nandini i called you to say good night as tonight i won't be staying back.." nandini was shocked as this was something she never anticipated even in her wildest dreams..

"good night? manik aren't you not?" nandini didn't knew how to react.. if she had become an addiction for manik same was the case for her.. she couldn't sleep until she hears his heart beats.. they are her lullaby's, she can't sleep until she is in his arms they are her pillows.. her safety cover.. an expression of sadness covered her entire being thinking that tonight after many night's manik won't be there with her... he was her addiction.. manik knew her inner battle, he tucked the few loose strands of hair and pecked her forehead and said "nandini i love you very much.. so much that words are not enough.. but at the same time my love is not selfish to take you away from your loved ones.. " manik's words went straight to nandini's soul as she listened to him.. "i know we both can't live without each other for a moment but ams came all the way from mangalore to meet you and just you.. like i was scared about you even she's scared too.. so can't take this away from her.. she also needs a reassurance that you are fine and that is possible only if you spend time together.. so its just one night and you will find me first thing in the morning as soon as you will open your eyes.."

nandini was overwhelmed as she heard manik speak.. so much love not only for her but for her loved ones too.. everyone in her family loved her but she knew no one not even her parents could love her the way manik loves her.. he made her his entire world as if his existence depends ion her.. she felt elated and proud to have him in her life.. her heart couldn't believe the love she's gonna get from this so called 'dracula', 'the monster' as the world called him.. she didn't had words to express her love so all she could do was crash into his chest for a hug and as if he was waiting for her to come into his arms he enclosed her and took her into a bone crashing hug.. after staying like that for eternity they parted.. manik kissed her good night with lots of pecks on forehead and cheeks.. he walked halfway several time and stopped and came back to hug her and there were times when she ran and hugged him from back.. finally after much love and hugs manik finally drove off to malhotra mansion..

although it was just one night for these two it was an eternity for these two love birds.. this was going to be one of the longest night for both manik and nandini.. nandini was sitting on the floor with her jar of fireflies while ams was messaging her hair with warm coconut oil.. it was ams and nandini's most favourite activity as both of them would sit like that and talk for hours.. but today was different, ams was talking about every random topic under the sun and all nandini was replying was "hmms".. today nandini was not there mentally even though her body was present there.. she was looking at those fireflies and smiling non stop remember her moments with manik.. the moments in the changing room.. moments on the beach..moments near the car and the moments on the terrace before his goodbye for the night..

a sweet blush covered her cheeks.. her felt happy like never before.. his respect for him increased a little more as she realized how he has been taking one step at a time, strengthening their bong to last a lifetime and beyond it too.. nandini was convinced that now nothing can come between manik and er.. yes there will be problems but they will be together all the while and face it together.. manik won't have to face his demons together... if nandini was lost in manik's thought mr malhotra's situation was no different.. he was sitting on a lounge chair near the pool; looking at his favourite stars, playing guitar and remembering his shining star.. manik wondered how one girl came in is life and changed his entire existence.. her mere presence was enough to make him alive.. he didn't have to carry the burden of being manik malhotra in front of her, he could be just manik.. for her he was just manik who is a child; he can be romantic, mushy, childish, immature, broken, weak anything and everything in front her and she would take in all forms of him with love...

she fixed every broken piece of him and gave him love that he always carved for.. she gave him his family and elder brother, a mother with the expectation of just is love in return.. manik made a vow to give hmself to her but he didn't realize he had already given himself to her.. bbut soon manik became cranky as he looked at the time it was 11 pm and dawn was still some 7-8 hours away how was he gonna stay without her for this long time... on the other hand ams was tired of nandini's one worded answers and she finally asked "missing manik?" nandini who was obviously lost in manik's thoughts replies "very much.." and at the very next second she realized what she spoke, she turned towards ams and said while fumbling for words "n..oo no.. ams.. it.." ams smiled and said "nandu tune mujhe nahi bataya but muje sab pata chal gaya.. and i am very happy..manik is a very sweet boy.."

nandini was confused as how ams got to know everything.. ams smiled at her confusion and held her hands saying "manik told me everything and i mean everything.." nandini's eyes widened as soon as she heard the word "everything.." she looked at ams with a hope the clear the doubts as to what all manik told her and knowing her impatience ams made her sit next to her and took her hands in hers and told her how she caught manik in the morning sneaking out of house while coming back from her morning walk and how manik told her every single detail about him and nandini.. "nandu i was very angry on manik on what he did with you but you know what changed my heart the truthfulness in his voice, the honesty in his heart and the love for you in his eyes... nandu the way manik loves you na no one not even me can love you ever.."

ams voice was now choking with emotions "he did a mistake and he is ashamed of it.. you all hid it but manik he said 'ams nandini taught me that relations are based on trust and trust is based on truth.. how can i build a future with nandini when i hide things from you.. nandini and i are incomplete without your blessings.. so if you want to punish me lease do it but ams please give me nandini she's my life, my reason for existence'" manik's words made nandini cry not because she was sad but cause she was proud of him beyond words and fell in love with him all over again without limits.. wiping her tears ams continued "nandu that's where my heart melted.. everyone makes mistakes kanna but not everyone have the guts to accept and correct it.. manik is a rare gem.. i am proud of your choice.." saying this ams hugged nandini as both of them sat their sharing their happiness that is manik..

as nandini and ams sat talking about manik, they heard a car being pulled down... ams smiled and said "here he comes.." making nandu blush.. just then nandini received a call from manik which was answered by ams "manik you can come in but remember your promise to me.." saying this she disconnected the phone and went to rishabh's room giving the love birds their precious little time.. within moments nandini saw manik jumping into balcony.. but unlike other days nandini ran into his arms without even giving him chance to straighten himself... "wow..what was this for?" manik asked taking her into his arms.."thank you manik.. ams told me everything.." she said and manik blushed taking her deep into his chest.. "ow do you manage to make everyone smile?" nandini asked him as he carried her to bed after breaking the hug.. manik laid her on the bed..kissed her forehead and said "i learnt it from you.." he then took her in is arms and said "let's sleep.." soon they both drifted into sleep...

love is when your home is not four walls but two arms.. love is when no matter were you wander you come to those two arms at the end of the day.. love is when you are not scared to face any adversity in life as you know there are two arms that are ready to hold you even before you fall.. love is all about one step at a time of trust, faith and friendship...
