love is just not about sharing good times .. its more about coming close and becoming stronger than ever when the times are not in our favour... its these moments that are the turning point in every relationship.. these moments and these struggles for togetherness makes us stronger both as individuals and as couples..

"cabir are you sure its harshad?" a doubtful manik asked.. "manik i am sure navya told me.." cabir clarified manik's doubt.. when manik gave him a questioning look he sat down and started explaining things "it was during the freshers night that harshad was smitten by nandini.. he tried to get close to her but situations always pushed you and nandini together.. then the major turning point came when you broke up nandini saying revenge.. he thought it was the golden opportunity to get close to her but navya too was smitten by him and was an obstacle.." everyone was shocked when they heard whatever was cabir saying... cabir sighed and said "fortunately for nandini and unfortunately for navya we all were there for us all the time.. nandini was never alone it was either dj, abhi you or me with her and navya was alone.. he realized he just can't take nandini away from you so easily so he started using navya by hooking her up on drugs.. i am very sure he is trying to hurt nandini somehow by using navya.. what that even navya doesn't know.."

cabir's words filled manik's heart and mind with despair and anger.. "harshad is coming tomorrow and he is so dead.." manik clinched his fists in anger.. "one moment manik.." abhi stopped him "you just can't go on hitting him.." "by why can't i its harshad navya said na.." manik reasoned with him.. "yes and we all know navya is an addict... there is a reason he hooked navya on to drugs so that no one not even police or college authorities can nail him.. so we have to be very careful and get him red handed.." abhi's point made sense with everyone and they decided to keep an eye on harshad without letting him know that they know everything.. after working out on their plan they all dispersed for their rooms calling it a night...

manik came in the room to find nandini sleeping peacefully.. he changed himself into night clothes and lied down next to her.. taking her in embrace manik hugged her tightly not because she needed it but because he needed to know that she's there with him and all fine and ok.. "i will not let anything happen to you..to us nandini.. its a promise of forever and this forever is bigger than any forever..." he kissed her forehead and slowly drifted into sleep... it was 7 am in the morning when manik slowly opened his eyes and got a shocker of his life; nandini was not there.. he woke up with a jerk and looked all around the room but she was nowhere.. he ran to look in the washroom but no she wasn't there also..

manik froze for a moment thinking of all the possible things that could scare anyone.. "what if navya took her somewhere under the influence of drugs.. what if navya would try to harm her.." manik's mind was running on millions of what ifs and there was no answer.. he wanted to scream for her but it seemed his voice refused to co-operate with him.. for the first time the mighty manik malhotra felt helpless.. just as he was gathering all his strength to scream for her he heard her.."good morning manik!" a smiling nandini entered with his favourite green tea in her hands.. "woh maine socha ki aaj tumhe dj ki class se bacha loon toh issiliye i woke up early and here you go.." while nandini was talking manik stood there all frozen looking at her in disbelief..

"manik..manik.." nandini shook him up and the next thing she knew she was in manik's embrace.. he took her in a bone crashing hug making her suffocate.. "manik i can't breathe.." hearing this he let her go.. "what happened to you?" nandini asked she was very concerned at manik's distraught state.. manik took a deep breath and told nandini everything as it was important for her to know what kind of danger she was about to get in.. after hearing everything all nandini could utter was "navya is on drugs?" she couldn't believe her best friend was on drugs.. "and harshad how can he do that to her and he's stalking me.." the thought of consequences sent chill down her spine.. manik realized she was now too scared to utter anything.. she was sweating and she rushed into manik's embrace for some peace and he took her in..

"manik i am scared.." that's all she said while sobbing.. manik broke the hug and said "nandini you trust me na.. so i am not gonna let anything happen to us.. now i need you to do as i say.." saying this manik asked her to act normal as if nothing has happened.. though it was tough for nandini to act as if nothing happened and she knew nothing but she choose to trust manik.. she had a never ending faith in him that he won't let anything happen to them.. she choose to have faith on their love.. faith on them.. she knew difficult times were approaching them and what he needed most was her beside him standing strong.. she knew he can fight the world and all he wanted was her next to him.. and she promised herself to stand with him.. face everything with him as they were not you and I but us and we..

they all assembled at the breakfast table where nandini was seen trying too much to act normal.. cabir asked manik "what happened?"... manik told him everything.. cabir went to nandini and said "nandini itni koshish karogi toh sab jaan jayenge you are trying to hide something so just chill and let it go we all are there to handle.." hearing cabir's assurance nandini gave a faint smile and abhi chipped in to lighten the atmosphere saying "waise bhi nandini you have maajor worries remember the play where your oliver often forgets his lines.." saying this everyone burst into laughter as manik took a bushing nandini into a side hug and rolled his eyes..

the rest of the day was passed in the rehearsals as the competition was scheduled to happen the very next day.. by the time they wrapped up it was evening and all of them were damn tired.. soon they all settled in for their evening coffee in the hall manik excused himself for some urgent work and asked everyone to take care of nandini.. nandini questioned him with eyes as to where was he going but he assured her that he will be back soon..

just as manik turned to go out harshad walked in saying "hello manik!" and as soon as they saw harshad their expressions changed in a jiffy.. manik and cabir were fuming in anger and nandini she just went blank with fear.. she started to sweat and panic and seeing her like that mukti and alya took her for a walk assuring manik that they would not leave her even for a moment.. harshad threw a deadly smirk at a passing nandini wile manik flinched his fists but controlled himself somehow... "well manik looks like you and nandini have actually hit it off.." manik was angry but he knew this was not the moment so he smirked and started off in his trademark attitude "tch tch tch harshad when will you learn to stop poking your nose in others business.."

manik walked and stood next to harshad and kept his hand on his shoulder and said "nandini is mine always and forever and whoever be it whoever even thinks of coming in between us should start counting his days cause he won't be alive to think anything else.." harshad also smiled and said "manik its not good to be over confident.. you never know what's coming your way my friend.." "friend ? really harshad you and i are not friends we are rivals that's it and don't worry about my confidence think about your consequences.." manik said and abhi chipped in saying "and guess what harshad we all are together unlike you so don't even think about it.." harshad smiled and left the place but he turned back and said "by the way boys its all about finding the weak link.." and walked off leaving manik fuming..

it took a lot of efforts from cabir and abhi to calm manik down.. after a while when manik calmed down he excused himself saying he has something important to look into.. "arre but what's so important?" cabir enquired.. "there is something very important cabir.." manik winked and ran off...

it was 10 pm when manik returned to the mansion.. he parked his car and ran in hurriedly to see nandini.. as he was about to enter one of the servants walked in with a pink note and gave it home.. manik opened the note and read it

"because you have made my days and nights beautiful..

because you have pampered me silly..

because your arms are my home...

because with you i am the safest..

because with you i am alive

and because you are my everything so let me thank you in my own little way..

a smile crept on his face and he dashed off to the pool... as soon as he went their he saw the entire place illuminated with small twinkling lights giving it a resemblance of stars glowing.. there was a table for two set up in the and the entire pool was decorated with floating scented candles which filled the air with its magical aroma.. "nandini.." he called out for her and soon found her arms wrapping him up in a back hug...

who is a soul mate? a soul mate is the one who can make us smile when we are crying.. a soul mate is the one without whom we can't breathe, without whom we don't exist.. a soul mate is the one whose mere thoughts make us alive, whose presence fills our days and nights with merriment even when the times are harder having the soul mate next to us makes the world a paradise.. a soul mate is just not a person he/she is our home for life and beyond it...
