Manik's POV

I was sleepless..! Her face was constantly roaming in my mind..! She was not less than an angel..! With that again I put vodka shot in my stomach and smiled.
"Myny suna hai jab koi larka akela beth kar smile kary tou smj lo usy pyaar ho gya hai..!"Cabir's chirpy voice broke the chain of my thoughts and I smiled at him.
"Tu bhi na..!"I said shaking my head smilingly.
"Main kya haan?"Cabir asked laughingly and I poured vodka for him too. "Don't you like her..!"Cabir asked smilingly taking a sip from his glass.
"Yaar..! I don't know..! Wo bohat choti hai..! Bachi hai..!"I said smilingly and Cabit too laughed.
"Tou? Tu bohat bara hai..! 20 years ki hai wo tu 30 ka..! It's an ideal age difference..!"Cabir said casually.
"Nahi yaar..! Baat wo nahi hai..! I don't think kay main ya relations handle kar skta hoon..! She is a pure soul..! Main usy hurt nahi kar skta..! Us kay aanso bardasht nahi hoty mj say..!"I said in a serious tone as I was afraid I will hurt her.
"Come on Manik..! At least you can try..!"Cabir again tried to explain.
"Nahi..! I can't hurt her in my trying session..!"I said in a determined tone.

Nandini's POV
I woke up again early and got ready to go to office. I was so excited once again. In my way I bought some white tulips and came to office. Don't know today feeling was very different. I adjusted the tulips in empty vase on Manik Sir's table. Then I prepared Sir's coffee. Then at exactly on 9 he entered the Cabin.
"Good Morning Sir..!"I exclaimed or maybe shouted. Manik Sir palmed his ears and gave me glare. "Sorry..!"I mumbled. He nodded his head and sat on his desk.
"Sir today you have a meeting with Mr.Khurana..! At 2 pm..! Actually a friendly lunch..!"I started telling him his schedule and told him everything in single breath. And he again look at me.
"Tum kuch ziada ni bolti?"He said coldly and smiled sheepishly.
"Ap ko aisa lagta hai kion kay ap bohat kam bolty hain..!"I said nodding my head in a very serious tone and Manik sighed. "Waisy I think you need a friend..!"I suggested.
"Mjhy kya chye kya nahi ab ya tum mjhy btaoa ge?"Suddenly Manik Sir shouted. My all joyness flew away in seconds and my face went pale. Then he look at the flowers and frowned. "Kis ki ijazat say tum ya flowers li ho throw them in the waste bin?"He said coldly. Leehhh ab pholoon say bhi problem hai..! Kharoos..!
"I thought this will help to make you a little happy..!"I said making a bad face and he sighed.
"Kya ho tum? Aren't you scared of me?"Manik Sir asked in a confused tone.
"No..!"I said casually and I saw his expressions softened.
"Why?"He asked politely.
"Because ap ya jo angry look dikhaty ho this is all fake..!"I said smilingly and I feel he was shocked for a second. Then he turned his face and started typing on his laptop. I shrugged my shoulders making a bad face as I thought he ignored my COMPLIMENT.

Manik's POV

I was shocked for a second how come she know that my angry look is fake. I tried to compose myself and started typing on my laptop.
"Acha..! Phir ya phool yahen rehny doon na?"She asked me again hopefully and I wanted to laugh loudly but just nodded my head and she became super happy.
"Now please let me do my work..!"I tried for the last time to send her away thankfully she went to her seat. I started my work again when suddenly she came again..
"Koi kaam he day dain..! I am getting bored..!"She complained like a kid scratching her head and I was like yaar stop showing me these cute antics...!
"Ok..! Jaoa Cabir ko bula kar laoa..!"I said to her. She became happy and was about to turn when suddenly she shouted. I look at her confusingly.
"Rat..!"She shouted and started running here and there. I too got up from my seat how come a rat came in my office. Nandini was shouting like a maniac.
"Nandini..! Relax it's just a rat..!"I tried to calm her down but she was shouting and running. At last my patience reached to the peak. I grabbed her hand and she banged in my chest. I palmed her mouth her shouts instantly stopped.
"Shut up..!"I said coldly showing her my eyes. "If you will shout I will fire you..! You want that?"I asked raising my eyebrow and she cutely shook her head."Good..! Now stop shouting..!"I said in a hell serious tone and she nodded. Without un palming her mouth I called the peon to come in. Then I look at Nandini she was staring at me then I realized our position and instantly backed off. Nandini too look away and run out. I closed my eyes in frustration..!

Nandini's POV
I run from Manik Sir's cabin my heartbeat was breaking all the records. Once again we were so close. Being so close to Manik Sir was really something different. What was that..! I have never felt like this for anyone before. I was thinking all this when I banged into someone. I look at the person and sighed.
"Hye beautiful..! Itne khoi khoi si kahan ja rahi ho?"Cabir bhai said in his all time chirpy voice and I smiled.
"Nowhere..! Wo Manik sir asked me to call you..!"I stammered and he nodded.
"Kuch hua hai?"Cabir bhai asked and I shook my head in no. What would I tell him? Suddenly Cabir bhai clicked his fingers in front of me and I smiled again.
"Lets go..!"Cabir bhai said and dragged me with himself. We reached Manik Sir's cabin and I saw peon had caught the rat in trap I again shrieked and hide behind Cabir bhai. He laughed and held my hands.
"Relax behna..! Just a rat..! Khaye ga nahi..!"He said laughingly and I made a bad face. But during all this I noticed something very beautiful and that was MANIK SIR's SMILE..! Aiyaappa he was smiling on us..! Manik Sir smile bhi karty hain..! Although it wasn't very wide only a lopsided smile but it was beautiful more than I imagine. Yeah I have always imagine that how will he look when he will smile and he was looking more and more handsome I wished that he keep smiling like this always.
"Tu ny bulaya Bro..!"Cabir asked walking towards Manik and the smile vanished I was like no..! And they both started discussing the matter. And I picked up some files from Manik Sir's table and started pointing out dictation mistakes. Then I look at my watch it was 1 pm and Sir was still busy with Cabir bhai. I got up from my seat and walked towards them.
"Sir..!"I deliberately stretched the word and he look at me.
"Sir..! It's 1..! Ap ka 2 bjy Mr.Khurana kay sath lunch hai..! You are getting late..!"I told him and he scratched his head.
"Cabir..! We will discuss this later..! Ok?"Manik Sir said and Bhai left. Sir picked up his phone and got up to leave.
"Chalo..! Let's go..!"Sir said to me and I was shocked.
"Why me?"I asked making a sad pout and Manik Sir frowned.
"Cabir BHAI nay kya kaha tha tmhy?"He asked sarcastically emphasizing on the word Bhai and I became confused. I bit my nail in confusion and suddenly I remembered..
"He told me to follow you like your shadow..!"I told him and he showed me his eyes. "Oh tabhi..! So I should come..! Ok..!"I stammered nodding my head and picked up my bag. We came to parking and I saw Manik Sir's car well I don't know that what was the model of the car but it was so lavish. My eyes popped out. Manik Sir opened the door for me and I sat in. He too sat on the driving seat and started the Car. I was noticing every corner of the car and then I saw the music player.
"Main music sun skti hoon?"I asked hesitantly and as expected.
"No..!"He said coldly and I made a bad face. Then I searched for a chocolate in my bag and luckily I found one. Then I started munching it.
"How can you eat so much chocolate?"Suddenly I heard Manik Sir's objection and I look at him.
"Because I like it..!"I said casually. "Don't you like it?"I asked looking at him.
"No..! I hate sweets..!"Again come his cold answer.
"Tbhi itny karway hain..!"I murmured.
"You said something?"Manik Sir asked curiously and shook my head in no. "No no..! I heard you..!"He said angrily.
"Aray no Sir Aiyaapa Promise..!"I said smilingly and he concentrated on the road least satisfied with my explanation.

Manik's POV
Sometimes this girl amazes me a lot. I mean how does she manage to talk such sweet things? She called me Karwa..! Hahahaha seriously..! Oh God..! Wait did I just laughed? This girl is changing me damn..! I should concentrate on my work yeah..! Focus Manik..! Fighting with my mind and heart we reached the meeting area. Nandini was still munching the chocolate licking her fingers and sighed. Kuch nahi ho skta is larki ka..!
"Ms.DairyMilk..! Agar ap ka chocolate eating session khatam ho gya ho tou hum meeting main chalain?"I taunted on her and she look at me with a confused expressions.
"Ap nay mj say baat ki?"She asked sucking the chocolate from her thumb and I wanted to bang my head in the steering wheel..!
"You dumb..! Neechy utro and follow me..!"I yelled and she made a bad face.
"Ya baat ap aram say bhi bool skty hain?"She murmured under her breath and got down of the car.
"Aram say boloon tou you don't understand..!"I cursed her and she showed me her tongue. Oh God what does this girl wants..? Such a child heart..! Well I don't why I was bearing her tantrums but I was kinda liking it..! Don't know what I am saying..! I myself was becoming a child with her..! Giving glares to each other we reached Mr.Khurana's meeting point. He was already sitting there what annoyed me the most at that time was Mr.Khurana's son. ARYAMAN..! What the hell was he doing there..! Crap...! Nandini was behind me slowly and she was hell engrossed in observing the whole area.
"Good afternoon Mr.Khurana..!"I shook hand with Mr.Khurana.
"Good Afternoon Malhotra..! You are on time..!"Mr.Khurana praised me and I smiled.
"Good afternoon Manik..! Who is the pretty lady behind you?"Aryaman asked totally concentrating on Nandini which I didn't liked at all. I look at Nandini she was confused and tried to hide herself behind me. I held her hand dragged her beside me.
"She is Nandini..! My secretary..!"I introduced Nandini and she faked a smile.
"So she is the reason that you are on time..!" Aryaman said smilingly and extended his hand for a shake hand and I felt Nandini nervous. She look at me and I assured her. I don't know how but it seems we were communicating with each other through eyes awesome it was..! She hesitantly shook hand with Aryaman and immediately backed off.
"Let's start the meeting..!"I said smilingly and then we all sat to discuss the matter. Nandini gave me the file and as usual the deal was on at the end but during the whole meeting Aryaman's full concentration was on Nandini and she was completely ignoring him and was cooperating with me in the meeting she was very talented I must say..! She had remembered every detail of the file and about the project. Then we had a lunch in which Nandini ate a very little or I can say she even didn't ate anything..! Her behavior was making me a little worried.
"Malhotra..! Tonight we have a party at my house..! I want you to join us with your secretary..! As other businessmen are coming too so please accept my invitation..!"As soon as we got up to leave Mr.Khurana invited us. I nodded in agreement and Nandini almost run from there leaving all astonished.
"I think your secretary doesn't want to come..!"Mr.Khurana said in a disapproving tone.
"It's not like that Mr.Khurana..! She is very new to all this..! Maybe that's why..! See you tonight..!"I wrapped up the words and walked behind Nandini. I came outside and saw her sitting on a bench tears were trickling down her cheeks and I became worried. I almost run towards her and sat beside her.
Chapter 3 B
"Hy..! Why are you crying?"I asked wiping her tears and she look at me sadly. "If you don't wanna come for tonight's party it's ok..!"I thought maybe that was the reason.
"No sir..! It's not like this..!"She said shaking her head.
"Then? Why these tears?"I asked softly I don't know after seeing her tears where did that arrogant malhotra in me flew away. I just wanted to hug her and calm her down.
"Wo..! Aryaman hai na..! Mr.Khurana ka beta..!"She complained like a kid and I nodded my head. "She was staring at me..! Mjhy acha nahi laga wo..!"She said making a sad pout she was complaining to me about Aryaman as if we have some kind of very deep connection I listened to her ranting carefully the main point of her complaint was she didn't liked the way with which Aryaman was staring at her. I sighed she was sensitive more than I thought. I think it was her first experience of tolerating these kind of boys. From her talks I guessed she doesn't know anything about this cruel world don't know from where the urge of protecting her from the world curled up in my heart and I felt the attitude wall in me melting away. Unintentionally in pulled her for a hug and she sobbed in my chest like a two year old.
"Nandini..! This world na..! It is full of cruel people..! They are here to harm you..! They are here to stand against you..! But I promise I will always protect you..! Chahy wo Aryaman ho ya koi aur..!"Those words escaped my mouth and I was dumbfound..! I promised her? I was hugging a girl? I was consoling someone? Am I really MANIK MALHOTRA? This girl I have no relation with her but still she was slowly and silently becoming my everything...! I rubbed her back and she hugged me more and more tightly. She was so tiny..! She was so delicate..! Just like a China Doll...! She was so perfect in my arms..! I don't know for how long we stayed like this but when we realized the time froze..! I immediately backed off and she rubbed her tears away.

Nandini's POV..
I was hugging Manik Sir..! Like seriously..! Maa sahi kehti hain Nandu tou bohat bari emotional fool hai..! Aiyapaa Manik sir kya soch rahy hoon gay mery bary main..! It's all because of that Aryaman huhh..! Chorron ge ni usy..!
"Come I will drop you home..!"Manik Sir said walking towards his car and I was hell embarrassed.i quietly followed him and sat with him.
"If you don't wanna come at the party..! Then it's completely your choice..!"Manik Sir said to me and I look at him. He was not looking at me and was fully concentrated on the road. I should be strong..! I can't be weak..! It's a part of my job and I can't deny it yeah..!
"I will come Sir..!"I said determindly and Manik Sir nodded.
"Ok I will pick you up at 8..!"He said in a serious tone and again silence. Manik Sir's words were echoing in my mind..! What he said to me was something which was unbelievable..! Maybe I misheard him but no..! But I very well remember..! And if he said so then it was really very heartwarming..! I smiled to myself and look at him from corner of my eyes his face was expressionless..! I failed to understand what was going in his mind and heart. Then he asked me about my address and I told him. Soon we reached the orphanage,he stopped the car in front of the gate and look at the orphanage board.
"You live in an orphanage?"He asked with a shocking expressions.
"Yes Sir..!"I nodded smilingly.
"But you were talking about your Maa..!"He was still confused.
"She is not my real Maa..! I am an orphan..! Maa is the owner of this orphange..! I was only two months old when someone left me on the staircase of this orphanage..! Maa only brought me up..!"I balabbered all my story in short words very innocently but I didn't knew how much it affected Manik Sir. "I will be ready at eight..! Bye Sir..!"I waved him and went inside the orphanage.
I came inside my room and immediately pulled the red box from my cupboard. I opened the box and my eyes twinkled. There was a red party frock in it with white leggings and matching shoes and earrings.
Now you all must be thinking from where did I get such an expensive dress tou let me tell you all Maa had gifted me this when I turned 20 that means it was my birthday gift and I not for once wore it I was waiting for a special day and I think today was the best day to wear it. I wasn't afraid of Aryaman anymore. Because I know Manik Sir will PROTECT me..! Unknowingly my heart was building trust for Manik Sir. I excitedly run inside the bathroom to take a shower.

Manik's POV
She told me about herself so casually and left while I was speechless..! God she was an orphan..! She was all alone in this whole world..! No relative? No blood relation? No wealth? Although my parents were separated, Although I hate them..! but I have an assurance that they are alive whenever I need them they will be there for me..! But Nandini..! How was she living? How was she surviving in this world all alone? Still she was smiling..! Still smile never leave her face..! I felt my heart was stabbed..! I don't know for how long I kept sitting out of her orphanage in my car..! Finally I drove back home and saw Cabir already waiting for me there..!
"Where were you yaar? Kitne dare say tera cell try kar raha hoon?"Cabir asked me and I fell on the couch like a lifeless body. "What happened?"Cabri asked sitting beside me.
"She is an orphan..!"I whispered as if I was trying to make sure myself.
"Who?"Cabir asked confusingly.
"Nandini..!"I whispered.
"What? Really? God...! Poor soul..! That's why Manik..! I think she need you..! I think you are the only one who can take care of her..!"Cabir said patting my shoulder and I didn't said anything..! I was not in a condition actually..!
