Chapter 2 NEXT DAY (MORNING) Nandini came back from jogging in the morning and was going upstairs to her room when she heard a familier sound after ages...
VOICE - "Maaa...
I M BACK"
And Nandini was shocked at her place that she wasn't even able to look back as if she was freezed at her place... The word shocked will be not able to expains her feelings... She was stunned for a minute after hearing his voice... The voice she heard was of him... His Madhyam... She was happy from the core of heart... She heard his voice after 11 months... Only she knows how she had survived these 11 months without him... It wasn't easy for her to live without him... She just wanted to go and hug him... She was about to turn towards him when she heard Padma's voice...
Padma - Maaaniiikkk...
Her face went pale after knowing that it wasn't him... Her all hopes were again crushed into pieces... After hearing the voice she had hope that HE IS BACK... HIS MADHYAM IS BACK... But her all hopes were broken once again... She knew that he will never come back... But her heart was not allowing her to accept that bitter truth... KEHTE HAI NA KI DIL HAI KI MAANTA NAHI... The same was in her case... She was in the verge of crying but she can't... She had to be strong not for her but for Padma because she knows that she will never show her pain to her... But still she was a Mom... She also has pain... But t reality stuck her mind and she registered that he was back... Not his Madhyam but Manik after 5 long years... And this was enough to boil her anger... She was about to go upstairs towards her room but was stopped again by his voice...
Manik - Oye... Bandariyaa... Statue...
N now after listening to the word 'BANDARIYA' ... It was more than enough for Nandini to get to her lioness avatar as per Manik. But What she did next left Manik baffled... He thougt that after hearing him she would react or will get irrirated as she use to did 5 years back... But she just came towards Padma totally ignoring his presence ...
Manik - Oye... Maine tujhe statue bola...
But Nandini showed him as she didn't heard anything and said to Padma...
Nandini - Mom... I am going to get ready for office and I will have my lunch today at office only... (N she was about to go back to her room when she again turned towards Padma n said indicating towards Manik...) N yeah Mom... As Some of your guest have came here so I do not want any kind of disturbance in mah daily schedule because of them...
With this she just walked away towards her room leaving a baffled Manik behind... Manik has his mouth opened in a big 'O' shape listening to Nandini...
Manik - Maa ...Pinch me... Am I imagining? What happened to her ? Tabiyat toh theek hai na uski... Means she didn't said a word to me and even didn't got irritated by me...
Padma (sadly) - hmm... inn 11 moths mei bahut badal gayi hai meri bacchi...Pehle Maddy ne usse shaadi karne se manan kiya... Phir phir uss ki sudden death ho jaane ke baad se toh jaise hasna hi bhool gayi hai... Use lagta hai mujhe woh apni iss jhooti hasi se behla sakti hai... Par use kya pata ki Maa hu mai uski uski aakhon mei dekhkar pta laga leti hu ki kya jhoot hai aur kya sach... Aur phir woh Gussa toh hai tujhse... 5 saal pehle bina kuch bataye chala gyaa tha use tu esliye... Aur kisne kaha woh irritate nahi huyi... Huyi hogi woh irritate par tujhe dikhaaya nahi usne...
Padma said all this very emotionally to which Manik was also being emotional... But he composee himself and said with his famous smirk...
Manik (With full attitude) - Hmmm... No worries... Wo mujhse zaada time tak gussa nahi reh payegi... Cause aj tak koi Manik Malhotra ke charm ko na nahi kar payaa... And aap fikar mat kariye ab main aa gaya hu na...
Padma - . Chal woh sab chod main baat kar lungi usse... Pehle tujhe theek se dekh toh lu... Itne saalon baad aaya hai...Tu kaisa hai ?... Kabhi yaad nahi aayi na tujhe apni iss maa kii?
Manik - Maa... aisa nahi hai main busy thaa... Apko toh pata hi hai ki main aana chahta thaa... But kabhi marrige toh kabhi albums n concerts... Inn sab se time hi nahi mila... And fir apne bhii mujhe mana kar diya tha...
Padma - Hmmm... Janti hu... Acha yeh sab chor or ja fresh n up ho jaa... Maine guest room ko theek vaise hi sajayaa hai Jaisa tujhe pasand hai...
Manik - Thank You Maa... You are the best... (with this he hugs her)
Padma - Haa ... Haa janti hu... janti hu... Tum aur Maddy bachpan se hi dono ek jaise ho ... Always best in buttering...
Manik - No maa aisa nahi hai...
Padma - Acha chal... Ab ja apne room mein...
With this both left from there...
[ Hehehe... Haaa... Haaa... Janti hu sab confuse ho esiliye confusion clear karne update ke beech mei ayii hu... Sorry I intentially didn't reveal this but now revealing it... Manik is Maddy's cousin from london... N he calls Padma Maa as she has always treated her like his own son and gave him motherly care which Nyonika didn't gave him because she was always busy with her business... And Nandini knows Manik and Fab 4 as they all use to come India in thier vacations... And Maddy and Manik have same voice that is why Nandini got confused in the starting... Maddy and Manik both are brothers from another mother and shared a great bonding with each other... NANDINI'S POV I came upstairs to my room and started walking to and fro in the room... The thing which was in my mind when I left from the hall was that Why is he here now ? When I needed him as a friend he was not there with me... When I needed someone to share my feelings He was not with me... Then now why the hell he is here... Pehle toh we were not even friends but when just cause of his Ego and when we became friends 5 years ago then he just left me went away without even informing me... And after that day he e... Never even thought to just message me once... But how can he ? He is THE MANIK MALHOTRA who always love to test my patience... And why not he is Maddy's brother... When I got to know that He is here It was just more than enought o boil mah anger...
It was the first time in these 11 months that Nandini showed some kind of emotion other than pain which was in her heart... And this new emotion was anger for Manik... She had always shown that she is happy to Padma... Or else was always blank in if it was office or any other place or occassion... But this time she felt any other emotion which was very much strange as in these 11 months she had not even tried to be in contact with her friends or any other person... Because now she had made her life Padma and Maddy's memories...
She was thinking all this when she heard a knock on the door...
Padma (poliitely) - Nandu beta darwaaza khol...
She heard Padma knocking the door and shouting fron the other side...
Nandini - Mom... Wait I am opening the door...
With this Nandini opened the door...
Padma - Nandu beta woh... (saying this she looked at nandini and then said) Are yeh kyaa tujhe tayiyaar nahi hona... Aaj office ke liye late nahi ho raha hai vaise toh roz yahi bolti hai... (mimicing her) Mom I will get late in office just coz of you...
Nandini - Mom... Dont make fun of me... and Main ja hi rahi thii change karne ki aap aa gayi...
Padma (little hesitantly) - Nandini actually I wanted to talk to you...
Nandini - Mom agar aap apne uss chaheete guest ke bare mein bat karne ayii hai toh plss haa... I dont want to talk about him...
Padma - But Nandini... (but she was cut off by her)
Nandini - No Mom... Ap yahi bolne ayi hai na yaha par ki mai usse baat karu toh plss Mai nahi kar paugi... Jab mujhe uski sabse zaada zarurat thi tab toh nahi thaa uss samay... toh ab kyuu???
Padma - But Nandini he didn't came to India because I told him dear... Try to understand...
Nandini - But Mom you just told him to not to visit here 11 months before... But what about the rest 4 years 1 months...
He even doesn't called me once in these 5 years... Padma - Nandu... (she again tried to say something but once again was cut off by Nandini)
Nandini - Mom... I will get late for the office, so please fisnish this topic here... And I am going to change ...
With this she took her cloths from the cupboard and went to washroom for change and Padma left from her room sadly...
IN THE HALL (After 15 mins) Manik (shouting from hall) - Maaa... I am hungry... What is in the breakfast???.
Padma was working in the kitchen when she heard Manik's voice... She came to dining table and till then Manik also ca,e to dining table from the hall...
Padma (to Manik) - Manik ... Today I had made your favorite Aalu ka Parathaa as you love it...
Manik - Thank You Maa...
Meanwhile Padma again went to kitchen for taking one more dish which she left in the kitchen...
Manik (while taking the first bite) - Maa... they are awesome... I very much missed it in these 5 years... So yummy...
Said Manik while eating Aalu ka Parathaa made by Padma... and Padma also came with the one more dish in her hand... Padma - Ache se dheere dheere khaa... koi jaldi nahi hai...
Said padma while watching Manik eating Parathaas like a juglee billi...
Manik (while having a bite in his mouth) - Okay Maa... (this is when he saw a bowl in Padma's hand and asked her...) Maa... You have made more dishes for me... But I am full now... (said Manik looking towards his tummy)... But itss okay I will adjust this also in my tummy somewhere... ( saying this he snatched the plate from her and opened it..)
Manik - Wow...
Pineapple custard (said he licking his tongue)... Awee Maaa... Love you for this...
Saying this he was about to gulp all the custard in one go when Padma stached the plate from him... and she said... Padma - Oye... Dare not to touch it... This is epscially for my daughter...
Listening to this Manik just made a sad pout... This whole scene was observed by Nandini as she was coming downstairs in a Pink Anarkali with a little golden embroidery in it... when she saw manik snatching the plate from Padma and went to her Past...
FLASHBACK ENDS ( Here Madhyam and Nandini are of 16 )
Nandini was in kitchen from past 2 hours cooking something by taking the recipe from internet when Madhyam called her...
Madhyam - Nandu tu kyaa kar ri hai itni der se kitchen mei??? Mai kaka ko keh deta hu tujhe jo bhii chahiye woh bana denge...
Madhyam said totally irritated by Nandini as he was getting bored sitting alone in the dining table as Nandini has given him strict instructions for not to enter in kitchen without her permission or else she will never ever talk to him...
Nandini - Bas 5 mins...
Madhyam - You are saying this from last 2 hours Nandini...
Nandini - Abki baar pakka 5 mins...
After 5 mins finally Nandini came out of kitchen with a bowl of Pineapple ice cream in her hand...
Madhyam saw Nandini coming with a bowl in her hand and said...
Madhyam - Nandu Finally You r here... And Now tell me what have you made for me as I am damn hungry...
With this he took the bowl from her hand...
Nandini - I have made this especially for you so only I ahave the right to make you have this... And by the way its the first dish made by me and that too Pineapple Icecream...
Madhyam (stammeringly) - Pi..piinnn... pinaa... appp... appl... pineapleee... ice... cream... Nandini - Yeah... Actually Amms told me that My Appa used to like it the most... And that day I dicided that the first thing cooked by me will be this only...
Maddy's POV Goddd... Kaha phass gaya main... Firstly toh I hate pineapples and secondly Its her first try... But I do not want to upset Nandini... Main kyaa karu????
END OF POV Nandini - Madhyam kaha khoo gaye... Have this and tell me how's it???
With this Nandini forwarded a spoon full of ice cream towards Madhyam and Madhyam unwantedly had it... It was like the worst nightmare of Madhyam came true... He was making such cute faces while having the ice cream as if someone had gave him bitter medicines... But for her Madhyam can do anything... N after all this the taste of the pineapple icream was rediculous,,.,
Nandini - How's it?
Madhyam ( don't want Nandini to get hurt ) - Its delicious...
Nandini - Awe... Sacchiii ... Let me also taste it...
Madhyam - Ahhh... No Nandu ... I am not gonna give it to you... You made it for me na so only i have the right to eat it...
With this he started gulping it but unfortunately Nandini stached the last bite and had it... But she can't hold it and puked it as it was very mch salty because by mistake Nandini stirred salt instead of sugar...
Nandini - Ewww... Kitna ganda hai ye... Maddy Tumne ise kyuu khaayaa??? Keh dete acha nahi hai ... Tumhe ise khaane ki koi zarurat nahi thiii...
Madhyam (lovingly) - Kyaa aisa ho sakta hai ki tum kuch kaho aur mai na maanu... Aur kisne kaha ki yeh achaa nahi hai... It was delicious kyuki isme tumhaara saara pyaar bhara huaa thaa... Aur hum best friends sirf aise hi thori na kehlate hai...
Listening to Maddy Nandini went all aweee ... She just hugged him as tight as she could... Then Maddy in a funny way said...
Madhyam - Hmmm... Chalo acha hai ki tum maan gayi ab mujhe aur jhoot nahi bolna padega...
Listening to this Nandini hitted on his shoulder and They both started Tom & Jerry and after sometime the hall was filled with their laughter doses...
FLASHBACK ENDS Nandini was remincing her those past memories when her trance was broken by Padma's voice...
Padma - Nandu... Waha kyaa khadi hai??? Yaha aa aur breakfast kar le...
Nandini - Aayii Mom...
