Lunch break was going on..Navya didn't come to college so nandini didn't have a partner and she hated eating alone so she didn't go to the canteen..she walking towards the library to get some assignments done..suddenly she saw manik sitting behind the music wing..she wanted to walk by but he looked hesitated and there was no way on earth that nandini could leave him alone like that.. Manik was frustrated..suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder..he looked back to find a desired face..but he was surprised cause nandini never approached him in college before
N:kya hua manik?
M:kuch nehi
Nandini sat beside him and took his hand in hers
N:its me manik..u can tell me
Manik looked at her..she gave him an assuring smile
M:u remember shanaya?
N:ur ex-girlfriend?yes..
M:well she is trying to get back with me..she has been irritating me all day..I don't want to get back with her..but I cant even tell her that cause she is dhruv's close friend..what if dhruv gets hurt?
N:manik u guys broke up because she left for usa right?
M:yes..honestly speaking I never truly had feelings for her..I started dating her because dhruv insisted me..so when she came to me to about her departure we had a mutual break up..I felt relieved..now that she wants to get back I don't want to..i dont know what to do
N:manik did I ever tell u about my break up?
M:ya u broke up with angsh because u had to move to mumbai..
N:I lied..
M:what??why?
N:cause I never liked talking about sad phases of my life
A lone tear escaped from nandinis eyes..manik felt like someone stomped his heart seeing her cry..he slowly wiped her tears
M:kya hua tha nandini??please tell me...
Nandini rested her head on maniks shoulder and wrapped her arms around his hands entwining their fingers..manik kept caressing her hand with his thumb
N:I was madly in love or I thought so..when mom n dad decided to leave for mumbai I was shattered..I couldn't imagine my life without angsh..so I told dad that I wont come with them..They were mad but I was stubborn..for the first time in my life I went against their will..dad didn't talk to me for a week..I was so blind I love that I didn't care..I went to meet angsh..I told him that mom n dad were moving..before I could tell him that I wasnt going with them I noticed something strange...he was smiling..he got up and told me that he was finally relieved..I couldn't understand..he told me that to him all this was a fling..he never truly felt anything for me..but he couldn't break things off as I got too serious about it..he told me that he was suffocating but then as he knew that I was leaving he felt free after so long..I begged him to me that it was all a lie but he didn't..I held his hand but he jerked it off and left without even saying a sorry..I knelt down as I couldn't hold myself anymore...I cried for hours sitting there..people were passing by and looking at me like I was some alien..I didn't care as somewhere in my heart I thought he would come back but he didn't..then I got up and went back home..I packed my bags and came to mumbai and never looked back...
Manik was shocked..he never thought that the girl on whom he relied on for his problems had gone through so much..he was to busy in his own world to notice this shattered side of a girl who cared so much for him..he felt like punching himself moreover he wanted to punch that angsh..he looked at nandini..she wasn't crying..she was smiling..this girl never stops surprising him
M:why didn't u tell me this before?
N:why?what would u do if u had known before?
M:taken the first flight to mangalore and punched his guts out..
Nandini laughed..
N:this is why i didn't tell u!manik I was hurt but Im not mad at angsh..he did the right thing by telling..he could have faked it but he didnt..thats why I could move on..I have no grudge against him
M:why are u telling me all this now?
N:cause I want u to be honest with shanaya..she will be hurt but she will recover soon..she will move on easily
M:what about dhruv?
N:he is ur friend..he will understand..dont worry
M:nandini u dont like to talk about it but u told me all these just so that I take a right decision..
Nandini just smiled at him..
N:let it go now...while u were busy with all these silly problem I have bigger things to worry about..
