Chapter-3 Fatal Response

Nandini woke up when the sun rays disturbed her beauty sleep. She sat on the bed and started to get off when her eyes caught the sight of the handsome man sleeping like a baby. She always wished this scenario but not like this. She wanted a happy married life with this monster 3 years back and now she just wanted to kill him, maybe.

She kept her thoughts aside and went for a bath and changed into a beautiful blue sari.

What is wrong with you Nandini why did you even think of wearing this color? It really doesn't matter to him what I wear so just change it! Nandini scolded herself because blue is one of Manik's favorite colors.

She was fighting with her own self when Manik woke and got freshened up.

Nandini started searching for another sari when Manik came from behind and whispered in her ears, "its okay. I'm not going to eat you if you wear my favorite color. Btw you are looking good, Mrs. Malhotra." Manik smirked went out of the room leaving a numb Nandini behind.

What does he thinks of himself? Bilkul bhi nai pehnungi main ye sari. Nandini thought and changed her clothes.

She then talked to Mukti for a while and went down for the breakfast.

"So how was your night bhai?" Alya teased her brother as soon as he approached the breakfast table.

Manik's neutral expressions changed into horrified ones when he recalled the terrible night. How Nandini tortured her by kicking, slapping, punching and even kicking him out of the bed.

"Kya hua bhai? Is everything alright?" Alya got tensed after seeing the appalled face of her brother.

"Ya ya everything's fine. What's in breakfast?" Manik asked trying to divert the topic.

"Your favorite! Btw where's my bhabhie?" Alya was irritating Manik by continuously talking about Nandini.

"She is getting ready. Now please let me eat, would you?" Manik asked annoyingly.

"Look she's coming." Alya said and got up from her place to gulp her beauty. Nandini was looking gorgeous in her purple colored Anarkali.

Manik saw her and gulped down his juice at once in anger. Why couldn't she wear that sari? Fine, Nandu, you'll pay for it! Manik thought and started munching his sandwich.

The day went slow for both of them and no evil by Manik came in front of Nandini's eyes. AND THAT WAS A STRANGE.

The next 10 days were too horrible for both Nandini and Manik.
Once Manik mixed sleeping pills in her milk when she had to go at a dinner with Nyonika and she slept for whole 18 hours! Nandini, to take revenge, burnt his favorite shirt when ironing. The shirt was his lucky charm and he would always wear that one in all of his important meetings.
Then Manik added ice cubes in Nandini's hot coffee so Nandini added lime in his morning tea.
After that, Manik added ice cubes in the bath tub leaving a shivering Nandini so for the reprisal Nandini added ice cubes in his shirt during a very important meeting leaving a dancing Manik behind in front of his employees and what not? They would annoy the hell out of each other and won't leave a single chance of passing any sarcastic comments.

But every night, they would sleep together cuddling each other unknowingly. The one who would wake up first would untangle oneself to avoid any awkwardness.

It was the 11^th day after their marriage. Actually, night.

What happened to him? Why didn't he do anything today? Nandini thought and changed herself into her nightdress. Manik still hadn't arrived. He went out to meet Cabir, one of his cousins, who was in town but still didn't arrive. Nandini smiled on thinking about Cabir. He was like an elder brother to her but she knew after that incidence nobody except Alya could ever accept her like the way they did before. She stopped herself on going into the depth of the topic and sighed looking at a photo which she had kept in her wardrobe.

She quickly got into bed and tried to sleep but in vain. She kept tossing until she heard the click of the door which meant that Manik had arrived. She acted as if she was asleep.

"Nandini..." Manik whispered loud enough for Nandini to hear.

She didn't reply.

"Nandini... Listen to me..." Manik spoke again in the most huskiest voice ever.

Shit! Aiyappa! He is drunk. How will I handle him now? She sighed and then replied rather asked, "Kya hai Manik?"

Manik came and sat beside her on the bed and held her hands, "Sorry."

"What?" came an instance reply from Nandini. The Manik Malhotra is saying sorry to me? Impossible!

"Yes, I sho..." Manik was cut in between by Nandini, "Manik, you are drunk. Don't speak anything which you don't want to and would. regret later. We will talk about this tomorrow. Now sleep." Nandini knew what was coming and she still wasn't ready for this. She knew that this day would come for sure but wasn't expecting it too fast. It had been 3 years and still she didn't know the answer to the most important question that'd come by either of the Fab5

"Can I sleep cuddling you? Don't deny please." He pleaded so cutely that Nandini couldn't deny. If she would have denied then also they would have ended up cuddling each other like the rest of the days.

Nandini slept thinking of what she would say to him. Will he even remember what he was going to say till the morning?

The dawn took over leaving them waiting for the sunrise.

Yo! I know I am giving short updates but I can't help it. It's a SS remember? If I would start giving long updates then I'd have even ended the story by this update.
I am really not well and I've too many deadlines so don't be selfish and wait for the next update. I'd try to sum up the story in 6-7 chapters .
Do comment please. I am writing even after getting so much of scoldings from mom and a fatal headache. Nevermind, btw, I'll clarify all your doubts soon.
Chapter-5 would be about their past only so just have some patience.
