Part 2:
The party starts at 9. The preparations were going on. On harsh's request manik took a sleeping nandini into their room. She had fallen asleep by then. He gently placed her on the bed and covered her with the duvet. He checked her temperature and it was high. He took a thermometer and kept it in her mouth. She moved slightly but didn't wake up. After sometime he took out the thermometer to get a shock. 104, she was burning with fever. "But she was perfectly fine yesterday night and today morning, what happened suddenly?" He murmered to himself. While lost in thoughts his hand brushed her waist accidently over the duvet making her hiss. She frowned in sleep. He slowly moved the duvet and raised her top to get a view of why she flinched. His eyes widened seeing the reason. Her whole waist was deep red in color with uncountable scratches and wounds. From the looks of it he understood she didn't apply any medicine nor she told anyone about this. He sighed slightly caressing the scratches and the red marks. 'I was very wild yesterday and she didn't tell me. Uurgh Manik why would she? She never says anything whatever I do. The only reply she has for everything is 'cuz I love you manik' like seriously. Why don't she get it I don't love her and she is loving me like a mad person only to get hurt. And this ? Can't she just take care of herself. No one gave her any herculean task to complete' he thought to himself and took an anti septic ointment and applied on the scratch making her stir. "Manik" she mumbled in the sleep. He looked at her for one more time and removed her top making sure she didn't wake and covered her with a comforter.
He was going to get up when his phone started ringing. He suddenly took his phone and without looking at the caller I'd he took the call not wanting to wake her. "Hello" manik asked in his 'what-d-hell-u-want' voice. "Baby, its me Naina" she said sweetly. "What do u want now naina?" Manik asked irritated. "What's this baby, tumhare that party hein so I have to be there right after all am ur girlfriend." She said flirtingly. "You." before he could complete his sentence she continued "I'll reach there by 9:30. Se you baby" she said and cut the call. "God!!! This girl" he threw his phone on the bed and walked into the washroom. After sometime he came out and went to the cupboard to take out a suit but got confused. After he got married to nandini he never had to do anything, she made sure everything was ready even before he say it out loud. He sighed and turned around to spot a grey tuxedo already kept ready on the couch along with his black shirt and his black Rado which she gifted on his 26th birthday. It was a limited edition watch and he was shocked when he received the gift. He knew she bought it with so much love so just to make her happy he started using this watch and slowly started loving the watch and now he never went anywhere without this watch.
He got dressed and he was looking handsome as always. He went near the bed and checked her one more time and he went out locking the door. The party has already started. He decented the stairs and all eyes were on him. There was a pindrop silence in the room. Dhruv ca,me and hugged him tight which manik reciprocated. Everyone's attention was turned to harsh as she addressed the party. "Ladies and gentlemen, am extremely happy and proud to say that my younger son Dhruv malhotra has also stepped into Bollywood. I wish him al the best for his carrer. And am equally happy and proud to say he is doing his debut in Manik's work." Harsh said and others applauded. Everyone at the party came one by one to congratulate dhruv. Manik was standing there talking to some people she she heard a girl call him "Baby" he didn't had to look back to realize it Naina. He excused from his colleagues and went to her. "Why are you here?" Manik asked clearly irritated. "its ur party and as ur gf I have to be here." She said sliding her fingers on his chest. "Naina stop it. This is my house and there are guest here. So behave" manik said removing her hand. Suddenly another director Mr. Joshi who is a good friend of manik came to them and asked "hey manik, where's ur wife?" He asked casually even though he knew the answer. "She is having fever" he said politely and excused himself and stood in a corner sipping a juice. Naina came there and stood in front of him. She started flirting with him and he also flirted back. Everyone knew about manik but no one asked anything knowing his temper. They stood there getting cozy. She was about to kiss him when manik heard a whisper in his ears 'Manik I love you' he jerked her and looked around but couldn't find anyone.
He just ignored it and talked to naina and again he heard the same whisper 'Manik I love you' he again looked around. But couldn't find anyone. He rushed upstairs leaving everyone stunned with his actions. He unlocked his room and entered to see nandini still sleeping curled in the blanket. He was going to the terrace when he heard her murmuring something. It was inaudible so he went near her and brought his ears close to her mouth. "Manik I love you" she was constantly saying this. His eyes widened in shock and kept looking at her not knowing what to do. 'How's this possible? I was hearing her voice. How?' He thought while he was staring at her in disbelief.
He moved away and opened the terrace and stood there looking into the darkness while his thoughts lingered on what just happened. His mind replayed all those time when nandini confessed her love for him. In these two years she have confessed her love for him uncountable number of times that many even she don't remember how much. And all these time he just kept silent and she knew his answer. But can love be so strong that I was able to hear her as a whisper. "What's happening here?" He asked to no one looking at star filled sky before going back into the party.
