Manik & Nandini - Stars and Fireflies..Part 13..The Party Continues..

Nandini was dumbstruck to see this avatar of Manik, she never expected a rude, arrogant, egoistic, rich spoilt brat to know so much about a women's dignity..The grace that Manik displayed in holding that drunk girl, the anger in his eyes and his care for her moved something inside her. He kept standing there and thinking is this Manik is real or the Manik she saw in canteen was real...She was all confused..anyways she walked in back to the hall where Neyonika Malhotra was about to end her speech..She looked at Manik's chair but he was not there and not finding him there her eyes started searching everywhere for him.."What's wrong with me? why am I looking for that dracula? One good deed doesn't make up for his ego and rudeness." She thought and closed her eyes to calm herself down..."Relax Nandini" she mumbled but then again she remembered her Ams words "If a person does a good deed it means he has a very good heart and a very pure soul but sometimes people show and sometimes they hide to escape expectations." And this made her restless again..

Nandini felt someone was shaking her hand, she opened her eyes to find out it was Navya "Nandini kya hua?? All ok na..Listen lets go to washroom before the dance starts and do a touchup..Nandini agreed as she too wanted to tie up her hair cause the humidity was unimaginable and the crowd was so much that even the ACs weren't working it seemed..Soon both the girls excused themselves and locked themselves up in the washroom for a touch up..Nandini tied her hair up a loose bun with the strands of hair fall on her and the nape of her neck which made her look even more beautiful..Suddenly Nandini got a call so she had to leave the washroom cause of too much echo.. It was her chachi just checking on her as she was new and not used to these parties..Nandini assured chachi that she fine and with Navya.

As Nandini finished her call and was about to leave she heard a noise coming from a room. She got curious and went in to check..As she opened the door she was saw Manik and Alya kissing each other..When Manik was looking for Nandini Alya came in and dragged into the room and they kissed..Nandini was quite shocked as she was a simple and very naive girl and such open expression of love was new to her..For her love is something that makes the soul pure and it was more about caring for the other person..In a shock she dropped her phone which distracted Manik and Alya. Alya was hell angry "WTH!! What is wrong with you? Don;t you have the decency...?" Nandini "I am sorry I heard a noise.." Alya "You will hear a noise and you decide to watch a couple kissing." Alya shouted leaving Nandini in tears but she realized maybe Alya is right she should have left and not stand there "Sorry I am really sorry. I know I should have left." She said with a teary eye...Meanwhile Manik was taken aback by seeing Nandini, he never anticipated her. He felt guilty that Nandini saw him kissing Alya and now she won't look at him the same way as she was a few minutes back.. "Manik look at this girl" Alya said but all Manik didn't react, he just said "Its ok she said sorry na leave it.." Nandini ran away from there...

Manik wanted to go behind her but stopped himself thinking "Why should I go behind her? Who is she I was kissing my girlfriend and i don't need to explain it that Nandini at least..Let her go to hell.."again his egoistic brain overpowered his heart. He held Alya's hand and walked off. nandini went to the washroom where Navya was still doing make up..Seeing her all shaked Navya asked and she told everything. Navya was angry "uff these people can't they leave us alone? we should go and tell Harshad." "No we shouldn't..She is Harshad's sister and he won't go against his sister let it be." Nandini said and smiled. Navya nodded and hugged her assuring her that she's always there. Nandini and Navya walked into the banquet hall again and went back to their places...Manik was sitting there in all his arrogance thinking who is Nandini Murthy and why does he need to feel guilty of kissing Alya or making out with her...He wrapped his arms around her and was rubbing it gently when he saw Nandini taking her seat and as soon as their eyes met and he looked into those big and beautiful black eyes all his arrogance and ego went out for a toss..

He wanted to run to her and just look at her explain her every thing but he got his emotions under grip..Nandini looked at Manik with sad eyes and looked down that kiss made her sad, she didn't knew why it but it did hurt her to see Manik kissing someone else. Here they were two people who met and fought just the other day were sitting here and feeling hurt for each other. Their heart ached to be in each others arms...Soon it was time to dance and everyone was excited..Harshad asked Navya for a dance and she readily obliged...Cabir and Mukti went on the floor and Manik and Alya too joined them. Nandini was sitting alone as she didn't had any partner. She looked at Navya who waved at her happily, Nandini smiled back thinking "At least she's having a good time." and she looked at Manik who was sharing a joke with Alya and dancing..They looked good together and made the most stylish pair with those amazing salsa steps that no one could beat.. "Nandini what were you thinking Manik is in a relationship with her and look how happy he is. That girl looks perfect for him in every way she's beautiful, ****y and even from same strata as he belongs too and just because I felt something from his touch doesn't mean he too felt it. yes he definitely didn't feel anything."

"Aiyyapa please do me favour don't let our paths meet again. Let him be happy in his world and I'm happy in mine. i got the best teacher and I just want to focus there. If love has to happen it will find me." Nandini thought and this made her happy, She took a small orchid and started playing with it. Suddenly someone interrupted her thoughts, it was Dhruv "May I have this dance with you?" "No you are from fab5 I don't want to dance with you.." Nandini replied. "Not every member of Fab5 is a devil and I think its fair if you give me chance to prove myself." Dhruv said with a smile and Nandini thought that he is right and maybe he is a nice person... She obliged and soon they were on the dance floor.. "But I can't dance." She said.."Don't worry even I can't" And they both smiled. Soon they started dancing with song being played "Love me like you do.."..

As they were dancing Nandini put her heels accidently on Dhruv's foot.."Ouch" He said "Sorry sorry I told you I don't know how to dance." Nandini said in a worried voice. "Its ok I will step on yous to make it equal." Dhruv said and stomped her in a funny way. They both started laughing and their laughed which attracted the rest of the gang's attention and everyone was angry why Dhruv was with her. Soon the song changed to a slow romantic ballad "Tum Mile." This made Manik very jealous seeing Dhruv's arms wrapped around her waist and he had a hard time controlling the urge to take her away from his arms. Everytime they shared a laugh his anger increased, at that moment all Manik wanted to do was hold her to him as closes as possible, open the knot of her hair cause she looked beautiful in open hair and dance with her. Manik's jealousy soon crossed all limits and he left the dance in between...

After the dance got over Nandini was looking for Navya who was no where to be seen. She walked out thinking she's in the garden. As soon as she stepped out she felt nice cold breeze greeting her and sighed and soaked in all. Since Nandini was not used to walk in high heels she was walking very slowly and cautiously..But as fate would have it she slipped on the dewy grass and was about to fall when someone caught her.

She opened her eyes to see it was Manik. They both were looking at each other without blinking. It felt that the time stopped for them. He slowly lifted her and pulled her close to him while holding her tiny, slender waist. Nandini as if she was in a magic spell obliged Manik by putting her hands on his shoulders. Manik slowly started moving his one hand up on her back while he pulled her further closed to him. His soft touch sent shivers across her body while they kept looking into each other's eyes...Manik's hand was moving slowly on her back working its magic on both of them, his touch evoked her senses and her soft satin smooth skin aroused him. He went up to the nape of her neck and moved towards her hair bun and opened it.. "Open keep it open. You look angelic like that." He whispered. Nandini blushed and looked down when Manik lifted her face with his hands and was caressing her hair. His grip on her waist tightened as the distance between them shortened.. They both closed their eyes ready seal this attraction with love but then Nandini's phone rang..It was Navya, they both woke up Nandini was horrified to be in his and so close. She freed herself and ran away...

As Manik and Nandini were about to kiss with their trembling lips, their hearts were beating fast and they could feel each other's breathe; Nandini's phone rang and that phone call broke their spell.. Nandini was baffled to see herself in Manik's arms and that too so close. She broke the hug and ran away while Manik stood there all shocked and unable to believe what has just happened...Nandini ran near a pillar and steadied her breathing, that encounter with Manik had left her breathless; she answered Navya's call. "Kahan ho tum..I am looking for you?" Navya said from the other end "I am right here be there in a moment." Nandini replied and disconnected call. She looked back and found Manik looking at her, she ran into the banquet hall..

As soon as she entered the hall she found Navya and Harshad looking for her.."Where were you?" Harshad asked.."I was looking for you two..Where were you?" Nandini questioned back..Navya blushed and said "we went to take some walk so you missed us.." Nandini smiled... "Manik where were you?" Cabir called out..Nandini turned back on hearing his name and saw Manik entering the room..A weird awkwardness engulfed her she blushed and became nervous both at the same time, their eyes met and it was fireworks again.. They both were transcended back to the moment where only they existed..Suddenly Alya cam and hugged Manik and they were brought back to reality..On seeing Alya hug Manik a sadness came in her heart and it ached, Nandini turned back and tried conversing with Navya..Manik too was not different he want to hug her, touch her fell her and kiss her and hide her in his embrace but he couldn't...

Everyone in the party was busy with their groups Nandini, Navya and Harshad and Fab5 but between all this Manik and Nandini had attention only for each other. When Manik and Nandini were having their silent moments Dhruv couldn't stop gushing about Nandini this pissed of Alya and Mukti and they made a very plan to harass her. They both went to the drinks counter and asked for wine and while returning back the spilled the drink on Nandini while showing it as an accident.. "ouch" Said Nandini... "Oh we didn't see..But its your fault that you are standing in your way.." Alya said. "Can't you see..Are you blind.." Nandini replied back "How can you be so careless while walking and I know you did that on purpose." She shouted.. "Oh please as if we don't have anything else to do.." Mukti replied and soon all the attention was diverted to them...As the tension was escalation Harshad steeped in and diffused the tension "Alya I know its your mistake so better do not increase the matter and Nandini just go and wash it off nothing to be worried." He made Alya and Mukti leave who by the way were very happy on ruining her dress. Manik gave a stern look to Alya when Nandini stepped out to clean the stain...

Nandini was cursing fab5 while cleaning her stains "What kind of people are they Aiyappa..They have big cars but smallest of hearts..they just can't do anything good forget doing they can't even think.." She cleaned her outfit and came out of the washroom when she saw a group of totally drunk boys ogling at her. She got scared but didn't show it on her face and kept walking.. Since she was wearing heels and couldn't walk fast those boys got hold of her. They surrounded her, there were 5 boys in total. They were passing lewd comments at her and soon started moving towards her...Nandini was scared and sweating; soon tears started to swell from her eyes.."let me go or else i will shout.." She said.. "Oh really but I don't think anyone can hear you.." Said one of the boys as he held her hand. She tried to push him away and punched him in stomach. The boy was hurt and fell on floor holding his stomach in pain, this irked the other boys grabbed her by waist and pinned her against the wall. Nandini was screaming but there was no one outside and the music in the banquet hall was too loud..

When Nandini was taking too long to come back Manik got restless, he had a bad feeling about her delay..He just couldn't wait anymore and decided to step out to look for her. As soon as he steeped and walked through the end of the corridor he heard a few screams. He walked in the direction of the screams and commotion; as soon as he reached there he was stunned to see Nandini and those boys. She was surrounded by all those boys crying for help and those boys were trying to come near her.. "Nandini." Shouted Manik and she looked up to him with those teary eyes.. Manik went near those boys and started beating them black and blue without thinking. His anger has broken all records on watching her being molested...

"Maniki stop." Nandini cries as she got more scared on seeing Manik so angry. Manik was very angry, his eyes were spitting fire and anger "How dare you touch her." He screamed and started to punch the boys again. He stopped only when Nandini stopped by holding his hands and saying "Stop it or you will kill them.." Manik pushed her away and again beating cause all he could remember Nandini crying and they trying to harass her. Slowly all the boys gathered the courage and ran away from there. Now it was only Manik and Nandini left, she ran to him and he embraced her tightly.. "I am here, I am here and you are safe with me." He cupped her face and wiped her tears..Nandini was holding him tight and crying. Manik hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead "I am not gonna let any thing happen to you." He said and took off his jacket wrapped it around Nandini. He took her to his car gave her water to drink and by this time even nandini was in little control of her self. "Please drop me home." She said to Manik.. Manik smiled and opened the door of his Merc for and drove off...
