Manik & Nandini - Stars & Fireflies..Part 10...

After a very tiring and difficult few hour Nandini and Navya finally got the best teacher in the world..Mrs Gayatri Malhotra was an institution in herself and getting trained from her was their dream come true...After they touched her feet and took blessings from her both the girls hugged themselves and jumped in joy..Until few minutes back every thing looked bleak to them and they were subjected to jokes of all sorts...After a while they broke their hug with Neyonika ending the meeting saying "The freshers can leave the college now..Tomorrow you have an off and the freshers party will start at 7 pm sharp don't be late and don't forget to wear only black.." After her speech everyone started to leave Gayaytri Malhotra addressed the girl saying "We will meet day after tomorrow at 9 am sharp and start riyaaz." She then looked at Manik and winked who in return showed some fake anger at her...

Manik could never get angry at his DJ even though if he didn't agree with her views or decisions he always obeyed them with a smile and tried to find a reason...Nandini looked at Manik who was smiling at his DJ but as soon as he saw her his expressions changed, he showed her his fiery eyes and left and the rest of the Fab5 followed him...Soon Harshad came to meet the girls..He instructed rest of his band members to take care of other students but he wanted to take personal care of these two girls..He congratulated and Nandini and Navya expressed their gratitude towards him for helping them..He offered them a treat at the canteen and show around the college. Since both Nandini and Navya were not aware of his true intentions they happily agreed especially Navya who was smitten by his extremely good looks..

Harshad took them to the canteen and started poisoning them against the Fab5 and especially Manik. He tried to instigate Nandini to take revenge against him.."Harshad I respect your feelings to be protective about us but I don't want to take this further. I don't want even to talk to him..Lemme be me and leave him too it will take us nowhere.." Nandini said... "Sorry Nandini this game will now be played as I want not as what you think missy" Harshad thought but said "As you wish Nandini but I will protect you girls.." Navya who was already smitten by Harshad became a more bigger fan of his...As soon as Harshad left to get juices Navya said blushingly "He so handsome and a such a gentleman na..unlike that Dracula and his team.." Nandini understood her affection and said "Navya chill we just met him.."

Later on the day Nandini was sitting on the bench as Navya was busy completing the formalities of the college..She took out a small diary that her mom gave to her as a kid to pen down her thoughts whenever she's upset, she took out a locket she was wearing as it was the key to it..She opened the diary and started to write "Dear diary..Life changes fast a beautiful day turns into nightmare but if we are on right path and keep hope alive all things fall in place at the end..Same happened to me too today this started beautifully.." Just as she was writing her hair was falling on her face not allowing her to write..Then a hand came and started tucking her hair behind her ears..She looked up to say thank you but was startled to see the person..

It was Manik Malhotra, Nandini stood up in a jiffy and the locket fell from her hand. "So miss Nandini Murthy you should be thankful to me." Manik said "WHY? because you ruined my favourite dress." Nandini asked angrily..Manik smirked "No because if it wasn't for my grandmother you would still have been a laughing stock." Well in that case I am thankful to your grandmother but never to you." She replied and started walking off but Manik held her hand and pulled her back..As soon as their bodied touched they both felt a shiver down the spine, something they never experienced.. Nandini started fighting back Manik but as much as she would fight his grip tightened and he brought her more closer and at one point they were so close that there was no space between them even for air. Manik brought his face near her hair and started caressing it with his face, Nandini closed her eyes.."Stay away from me." He whispered..She opened her eyes..turned back and replied "Well in that case its not me its you who should stay away cause you are the one coming back to me.." She pushed him back, picked up her bag and picked up her locket and started walking off. Manik was looking at her when she walked halfway she paused and looked back at Manik. He winked, smirked and blew a flying kiss at her and left..Nandini was pissed "Aiyappa yeh dracula ugghh" stomped her feet and walked off...

Later on when Navya and Nandini were about to leave the college someone stopped them midway it was Cabir. "Hi girls! Listen I know we didn't get off to a great start you don't like us well congratulations because the feeling is mutual..But since I love social work one advise STAY AWAY FROM HARSHAD" He said.."Why because he helps two girls while the rest of you make mockery of them..And how good your group is we saw in canteen.." Navya blasted him and walked away holding Nandini's hand.."Mat suno mera kya" Cabir walked away...Navya and Nandini bid goodbye to each other for the day with a promise to go shopping for Navya and visit spa to prepare for the party, nandini wanted to give Navya a makeover knowing her attraction towards Harshad...

Later on Manik found everyone busy with party preps and he felt irritated so he drove off to home anyways he wanted to have a word with DJ..As soon as he reached home he went straight to her and said "we need to talk DJ." "Oh yes we do need to talk Maink." DJ replied...

Manik walked into DJ's room wanting to speak to her.. "We need to talk DJ.." He said.. "Of course we do need to Manik.." DJ said "Come on in"..Before Manik could start DJ called the servant in..Few minutes later the servants walked in with approximately 3-4 hangers full of suits..Those hangers contained the finest of suits from the best of designers DJ looked to Manik and asked "choose one cause I want my grandson to look the most handsome guy in the party." "DJ your grandson is the most handsome guy in the college don't you know?" Manik said and wrapped his hands around her hugging her from behind..He kissed his grand mom's head...With her Manik was the sweetest guy in this whole world which no one knew not even his friends or his girlfriend... "I know my grandson is the most handsome boy but I want him to match to one particular person's charisma." She said while slapping his cheeks with love... "Alya..Come on DJ you know we match each other.." Manik. "Of course you match each other but you don't look meant for each other. Manik we match and we like many things in this world but we love only one thing and one person..You like playing soccer too but you love music and you choose it.." "I didn't get you?" Manik was all confused. "How about this suit?" She picked up a Versace black and red suit "go and try.." Manik went in and came out wearing it and indeed he looked the most handsome guy in the college as his grand mom wanted him to be...

"This is just perfect. Do you like it?" She asked him.. Manik looked into the mirror admired himself and said "Like it I love it absolutely love it." "Ok now what did you wanted to talk with me?" She asked. "Nandini..I wanna talk about Nandini.. Why did you agreed to mentor her and that other girl whoever she is.." DJ smiled and asked him to pull up a chair and sit down "Manik the reason I decided to train her and Navya because they deserved to be trained by the best. Nandini, her voice is still echoing in my head when she sang everything looked beautiful, every emotion turned into love. Her voice has the power to calm down even a volcano and I saw that happening. A certain Manik Malhotra was seemed lost in her voice today." Manik was startled, he never anticipated Dj to observe that "No no I wasn't lost I was just happy that if she stays in college then I can make her life hell for messing with me.." DJ smiled thinking "Sometimes my oversmart grandson can also be innocent." "Well it was not entirely her fault why both of you fought." She said. Manik "What are you saying? I caught her trying to puncture my car." DJ "And who instigated her to do so? You accept it Manik it was your fault all along..You threw juice at her and instead of saying sorry you harassed her even more. Manik we become powerful by earning respect and love not by scaring people. I am sure you will understand it very quickly..Now go and take rest." DJ said..

Meanwhile Nandini went to home, chachi was shocked to see her in a salwar kameez and asked "arre what happened? Tum yeh dress change?" Nandini didn't wanted to scare chachi with the events at the college so she lied saying she spilled food so her new friend Navya helped her.. Chachi was not convinced but seeing Nandini's sad eyes she didn't probe more and gave coffee to her to relax..Coffee was Nandini's medicine to all the problems...She told chachi about the freshers party and chachi got all excited saying she can wear her LBD. Nandini was shocked "No no chachi I am not wearing that KBD please. I have never worn those types of outfits I can't carry them off." Chachi "Who said you can't carry them off? Have you seen yourself when you wear that dress you look like a princess. Nandu there is nothing in this world that you can't do or won't be good at. And don't care what world thinks every one has their own problems and those who talk at our back are not worth our attention.." Chachi cupped her face.. Nandini smiled and said "But chachi?" "Please Nandu mere liye.." Chachi made a puppy face and Rishabh joined her and Nandini couldn't say no to them..

It was 10 am at night when nandini got off from phone from Navya and decided to meet at the same mall where Nandini went shopping..She was laid down on bed trying to sleep as soon as she closed her eyes the flashes of morning came back..Her fight with Manik, how he threw food at her and then how she retaliated. Firstly she was angry on Manik the she remembered how he could not look into her eyes in the amphitheatre and how he smiled when Gayatri Malhotra decided to be there professor. That Manik in there was different from Manik in the canteen. She also remembered her encounter with him in the garden and she got goosebumps when she remembered his touch. Why did she felt like that even though she hated him but his touch felt familiar to her, safe to her it was something she couldn't put in words. It was like every pore in her body became alive when he touched her, when he came close to her and when he caressed her. "Uggghhh What is wrong with you Nandini? Manik is dracula as Navya said so stop thinking like this." Said in a frustrated voice and pulled up bedsheet and slept...

On the other hand Manik was on a video call with Alya who was showing her options to him.. Manik had a long and tiring day and he was in no mood to see her options, he disconnected the phone without even telling her and witched it off. He went in the jacuzzi to calm himself down. He closed his eyes to forget the day but Nandini Murthy just won't leave his thoughts.. her intimidating but extremely eyes beautiful eyes that could make anyone smile or cry with them, her pink lips , her voice the calmness it brought along with it. The touch which sent a shiver down his spine..He never felt it that way he had been with Alya like forever but never ever she could arouse such feelings in him..The smell of her soft hair got embedded in his mind..He opened his eyes and was confused why this girl whom he met just 12 hours back is influencing him so much. Why does her anger matter to him, why does her tears make him restless why does her touch evoke his sense..Why?? Manik had just whys but no answers with him...

So the future soul mates spent the night thinking about each other and all they could think is why they are thinking so much when they can't even stand each other..Maybe the freshers party will be a start of something new..A new love, a new friendship and a new journey..What ever it will be Manik, Nandini and the people in their life could never imagine how drastic its gonna be...

The next morning Nandini met Navya at the same shopping mall where she shopped the other day.. Navya was so excited for the party it was as if she's living her dream a dream city, a dream college, a dream party and a dream boy Harshad...She couldn't stop gushing about Harshad, while Navya was ranting about Harshad Nandini remembered what Cabir said and thought why did he say so...She thought..Just as she was lost in thought they both got a text from Harshad saying he will pick them up in the evening and asked Nandini to text back her address. nandini was reluctant but agreed on Navya's request to go with harshad.. Navya looked very pretty in it further they brought earring and accessories to match and both friends walked off towards nandini's chachi's parlour to get prepped for the party. Nandini took permission from chachi for Navya's night stay at her house...

Even the Fab5 girls were busy in prepping up for the party. Alya was the in charge of organizing the party as she was the one person who seem to know everything about how to plan a perfect party..She choose the theme purple and white for the party..She took the charge for decorating the amphitheater and the college gardens by ordering special lilacs, orchids for the decorations.There were purple and white balloons all around and tiny lights wrapped around the trees and even the fountain was decorated with lights which would turn up in the evening. The tables were looking beautiful with purple carnations. Even the food and the beverages section gave a hint of Alya's classy taste. She had ordered Italian, Mexican, Thai and Continental food and the the finest of wines and champagnes. Everything looked picture perfect after Alya had given her personalized touch to it..

After overseeing all the details she went straight to Manik's house, she was very angry on Manik disconnecting the phone without even finalizing her look. Alya was an independent girl but Manik's approval of her looks was very important, she made sure that she dressed up ****ily like Manik loves, everything about her was Manik. Except for him she can't think of anyone else. Deep down somewhere she always believed one day she would be his wife and have his kids, unaware of the fact the Manik was gone from her. Manik was already fallen for his stranger, Nandini with his mind and heart playing games...Alya was the last thing on his mind and not at all in his heart...

When she walked into Manik's room he was still sleeping..She went straight to him and woke him up "Manik its 11 am wake up!" "Oh come on Alya lemme sleep, the party's at night right I will pick up then now go.." "Manik why did you disconnect the phone last night.." Alya said angrily.. By now Manik's sleep was disturbed and he was fully awake and angry "Alya you know I don't have any interest in that stuff and you look beautiful in everything so stop being fussy and go with Mukti I will pick up." He walked off to his gym and locked it. Alya was helpless some times she did get the hints that Manik and she were not meant to be, she is the only one holding on to him whereas he was not even interested, but she always choose to ignore those signs..But now with Nandini coming in will she be able to ignore these signs and turn a blind eye to reality that Manik never loved her...

Alya just calmed herself down and went to Mukti's place and dragged her to the spa to get ready for the party. Everyone was busy prepping up for the party Fab5, Nandini and Navya, they all were very excited for the night that was going to change everything in their lives forever...Soon the evening dawned upon them...Alya wore a black off shoulder high slit dress with those 6 inches killer heels which made her look the ****iest girl on the campus..Mukti being a tom boy choose to wear black leather pants and teamed it up with a black and grey crop top..The boys too looked dapper..Manik and Alya looked amazing together him in that Versace suit and she in the gown..When they stood together the whole campus went "Aww".. Mukti took a photograph of their to seal the memory of the night..Soon they all left for the party...

It was 8 pm Nandini was restless as to why Harshad was late as she was always very punctual about time..Just then Harshad pulled up and honked signalling the girls to come down..Navya looked from the window and shouted "Harshad is here lets go.." Nandini looked herself in the mirror sighed and left for the party...Harshad greeted them, told chachi that he will drop the girls home and soon they too left for the party. It was around 8.30 pm when they reached college and as per rule all the seniors including the Fab5 were waiting to welcome the juniors.. Navya was the first to get down from the car and Cabir was taken aback by her transformation..She looked very pretty in that black and anarkali with her hair tied up in a loose waterfall bun..Soon after her Nandini steeped and as soon as she stepped out every guy over there was blown away by her beauty and grace. She was wearing the LBD chachi gifted her showing off her beautiful fair satin smooth lets in a black wedges..Her dress was black lace detailed dress with full sleeves and a low back and front neckline.. Her long black silky hair was flowing in perfect waves which she kept tucking in behind her ears and every time she tucked them back her beautiful long black earrings made her look even more pretty and her red lips just added to her beauty.. Nandini looked every bit a show stopper in that outfit...

"Wow" said Nandini as soon as she got down from the car looking around the decorations..It looked straight out of a fairy tale setting with tine white an purple lights, balloons and flowers all around her. She was lost in them and kept looking around in amazement when her eyes suddenly met Manik's who just couldn't stop staring at her..He was spell bound by her beauty and grace..She looked into his deep eyes, blushed instantly and looked down.. "Let's go in girls" It was Harshad as he escorted the girls in the party. Alya was mighty pissed because the moment Nandini walked in she stole her lime light and secondly her brother giving so much importance to those two girls. Mukti realized and said "Alya ignore Harshad he is doing that to get back at us and you are still the most ****iest girl in the party. Hai na Manik." but Manik walked in without answering...

Soon they all were seated as Mrs Gayatri Malhotra and Neyonika Malhotra were about to deliver a welcome speech.. Nandini, Navya and Harshad shared a table while the Fab5 were sitting just in the adjacent table with Manik sitting directly opposite to Nandini. He just couldn't take his eyes off her and this made her blush and go red..Soon her cheeks were flushed which made her look even more beautiful..They both were kept thinking as to what are they doing but they were helpless when it comes to matters of heart brain can't do anything..

Soon Gayatri Malhotra started her speech with explaining the importance of music in a person's life and how music makes us alive, makes us feel love..Her talk reminded Nandini of her Ams and soon she got teary eyed remembering her...She excused herself and went to washroom to make sure she didn't spoil her make up...Manik who was listening to his DJ with great pride turned around to see Nandini and did not find her he got restless and started looking for her..He slowly took Alya's hand from his and walked out saying "I'll be back"...

As Manik was looking all around for Nandini he found couple of boys teasing and harassing a girl..Manik got angry and started beating the boys..he held one of the boy's collar and shouted "How dare you harass her..If she's alone toh you will do anything..Learn to respect girls and if next time I see you harassing any girl I swear I will kill you?" He asked the boys to run away from there. Then Manik looked at the girl, she was drunk he held her asked fro her name and address, he then called his driver and told him to drop her off. "You need to check in your drinking and when your drunk be with someone you trust and not with everyone who will take advantage." While Manik walked away from there Nandini looked all this from behind a pillar which got her thinking if he was so arrogant and uncaring how could he think so much about a girl's dignity and they way he made sure she reached her home safely...Is he really what he shows he is or is there a Manik Malhotra that the world doesn't know about?? Nadnin chain of thoughts had just started about him..Now its was Miss Murthy's turn to get all confused...
