PART 14

Manik dressed in white kurta was ready for the haldi ceremony. First haldi was to be applied on harshad and then on Sujata. But both cannot attend each others haldi. Since Sujata could not come, for harshad's haldi. Nandini stayed back with her, while all others attended the function. Harshad was taken to the gazebo set up in the lawn. Ladies and friends besmeared harshad with the haldi, ladies were singing, Music was being played people were dancing to beats to dholki. Everyone was enjoying accept Manik , as he was missing his Nandini. Finally harshad was taken for bath and now it was sujata turn, she was brought for her haldi rituals. As sujata and Nandini enter, Manik was spellbound to see his angel dressed in white and golden lehenga , adorning gold jewelry , hair tied in side French braid and decorated with white flowers. It was not Manik who was admiring her alone, Satish too could not get his eyes off her . haldi was applied on sujata amidst lot of fun, dance and masti, Manik was glued besides Nandini . He just could not afford to keep away from her. Cabir got the leftover haldi in the vessel and started playing holi with it by applying it on others . Satish took the opportunity to touch Nandini on the pretext of applying haldi on her, but Manik could never let it happen before Satish could even come near Nandini , Manik pulled Nandini in his embrace , applied haldi on his face and then applied haldi on Nandini's face by rubbing his face on her face , and with his hands on her waist. Nandini was totally shocked with this Manik's move. Fab5 was aware of their romance so made a circle around them to cover them up from the elders. Satish was fuming with anger as his plan to touch Nandini failed , but this was seen by Cabir, he was smirking looking at Satish and warning him to stay away from his friends.

after the haldi ceremony , the bride and the groom were not supposed to see each other till their wedding. Now this was a big problem as Nandini would have to be sujata , and Manik could not come there as there were other girls also. Manan would have to stay away from each other for few hours , Manik was not liking this at all. Nandini did not come out for lunch also . it was evening, everyone were out in the lawn except for sujata's parents, sujata and Nandini. Manik was continuously texting Nandini to meet him and Nandini was asking him to give her some time, she would be there as she was busy. Manik lost his cool at this, he just wanted to hold Nandini and could not bear her absence , when all his friends were together with their loved ones . Seeing Manik's frustration, Cabir understood his urge to meet Nandini , he thought of helping manic, and he was discussing his plan to unite Manan with Manik , when Satish overheard Cabir's plan.

A small boy knocked at sujata's villa, Nandini opened the door in surety that it would be Manik, but depressed to see it was not him

Small Boy: are you Nandini?

Nandini: yes

Boy handed a note to Nandini. Nandini read the note , it was written " emergency , reach immediately in my room" - Manik

Nandini was surprised to read the note , thought for a while , spoke to someone on phone and ran towards the Manik's room, Nandini found the door was open and it was dark inside the room. She was trying to switch on the lights

Nandini : Manik , Manik, where are you, look don't fool around , I am scared of darkness please come out.

Suddenly someone pulled Nandini inside, Nandini was struggling to get free from the clutches of that person. That touch was unknown to her . She bit the person's hand that was covering her mouth and kicked that person. That person loosened his grip on Nandini . meanwhile the lights are switched on. Nandini saw Manik , Cabir and Dhruv at the door of the room, they had switched on the lights, Satish was standing near her holding his hand. She saw her teeth marks on his hand

Nandini : So it was you Satish. How dare you try this stunt on me. She went near him and slapped him hard. Manik pulled Nandini in his embrace and checked with her whether she was fine. Leaving Nandini , Manik was punched Satish on his face. Cabir and dhruv try to stop Manik and ask him to control his anger "I told him to stay away from Nandini. How dare he touches her."

Satish is about to counter attack Manik when Cabir stop Satish from doing so, and beat him up, Manik holds Nandini in his arms, harshad and gang enter the room hearing the commotion.

Harshad : what is all this happening here

Manik : Ask your friend, he tried to assault Nandini.

Satish : I called her here ,because I love her ,and I want to take her away from you

Nandini : But I don't I Love you, I love Manik and Manik only.

Manic : did you hear she loves me and I love her , we are made for each other , EK DUJE KE LIYE.

Satish : no, Nandini loves me only, as Manik is rich and famous her parents want her to get married to you, so she is with you. why cant you just get out of our lives and leave Nandini alone. Stop alluring her with your flamboyant attitude.

Nandini : ( anger builds up in her hearing Satish words for Manik) I Love Manik only, it is by our both wish that we are getting married , our parents are just supporting us and not forcing us. it is you who is trying to come in between me and Manik. You get out from here. You think you can fool me with a note. I had understood at that moment only when I saw the note, that it was not written by Manik . I recognize his handwriting , so I called him to confirm the same. we played along to trap you. I am ashamed to call you my friend. You don't love me it is lust that you have for me. I hate you. If you had loved me you would have respected my decision ,and not try to hurt me.

Harshad: Satish you actually did all this , you wanted to harm Nandini. She is like my sister and you tried to hurt her . you have lost respect as a friend please get out from here , I don't want to see your face . please don't spoil my wedding.

Manik was still holding Nandini in his arms . Satish packed his bag and left from there

Satish : (to Nandini) I will be back

Harshad : I am sorry Nandini , I am sorry Manik , but please don't let sujata know about this Satish Fiasco otherwise she will tensed and spoil her mood on the wedding day. I will tell her everything after marriage.

Manik : arey harshad , why are you sorry , what have you done. Whatever had to happen has passed away, so now let's not waste ourselves thinking about it , and nobody is talking about this to anyone , move on and let's enjoy the wedding, and don't worry no one will tell sujata about this. Rest assured.

Harshad leaves the room

Nandini : O, fish , I have left sujata's packing in middle , I need to finish it.

Manik : (holding Nandini more tightly) you are not going anywhere.

Cabir: ravan chala gaya, sita ka haran koi nahi karega , ab chod de besharam use.

Manik : cabir yaar chup kar, Main nahi chodne wala isse. Bahut muskil se haath aayi hain

Nandini : Jaan , please bas thodi si packing baki hai sujata ki, khatam karke sidha tumhare paas aa jaungi, phir no going anywhere , promise.

Manik : pakka wala promise , Jaanu

Nandini : pakka baba, bas ek ghanta aur okay.

Manik leaves Nandini and she goes away to finish her chores.

Cabir : ab jaanu chali gayi , toh hum bhi chale Jaanu ki Jaan.

Sujata is bit upset as it is her last day as spinster daughter of her parents and few she would go away from them. So were her parents also feeling the same. She did not want to move out of her room and spend her all time before marriage with her parents so they stay together. It is dinner time, Nandini arranges dinner for sujata and her parents in the room itself. Nandini leaves sujata and her parents alone so that they can spend quality time with each other , to join Manik and gang outside in the lawn. Harshad on other hand is very excited as he would be married tomorrow, and sujata would become his forever. He is enjoying his dinner outside with his friends and family . manan's parents are too enjoying their times amidst marriage preparation discussion. Nandini comes near them and spends some time with them chitchatting and then heads for manik.

Cabir : (seeing Nandini coming towards starts singing) pointing towards Nandini arreyJaanu then pointing towards Manik - meri Jaan , main tere qurbaan

Navya : cabir kya ho raha hai ye beech hi mein ye gaana kyun

Manik pulls Nandini towards her and she falls and sits on his lap " kyonki yeh hai Meri Jaanu and mein iski Jaan". Finally I hope mera wait khatam hua " , aur kuch kaam baaki toh nahi hain naa"

Nandini: (smiles at him )khana khaya tumne

Mukti : Jaanu ke bina Jaan kaise kha sakta hain , aur waise hum sab bhi tumhara intezaar kar rahe hai yaar , ab aadat daalo humaari , hum tumhari kundli aakar baith gaye, can't avoid us.

Nandini hugs mukti : I love you all.

Abhimanyu : chal jhooti , bolna kisko hai , naam hamara daala hai

Nandini : nahi abhi , agar mujhe manik se bolna hai to main sharmati nahi,(looking towards manik) Jaan I love you

Cabir : woah ,... Billi banni sherni.

Manik : I love you Jaanu, Cabir bas kar yaar, chalo sab dinner karte hain .

They all finished their dinner. Dinner was taken over by Chitchatting session . After an hour or so everyone retires to their room leaving Nandini and Manik alone.

Nandini : Sujata had become very emotional today

Manik : arey why , did you tell her everything.

Nandini : of course not Jaan. she is sad because now she will have to leave her parents and go away from them.

Manik : oh , so every girl has to do this so you all must be feeling sad, but you all are happy to get married.

Nandini : Hmmm

Manik : even you,

Nandini : No I am not sad, because I am not going away from my parents they are very close to me but excited for transformations and new responsibilities

Manik : transformations and responsibilities

Nandini : murthy to Malhotra , from a daughter to daughter-in-law, friend to wife and later daughter to mother. transformation

Manik : oh that way, don't worry Main hoon Na I will help in all transformation specially the last one,

Nandini : Haan tum hi toh ho jiske wajah se yeh sab ho raha hai

Manik : so you are not liking it

Nandini : (Fakes anger ) haan

Manik : what do you mean, Now you cannot backoff like this, you love me right

Nandini : of course baba , I Love You, but ...

Manik : but what Nandini

Nandini : (begin laugh loudly, seeing all tensed Manik) buddhu tumhari taang khich rahi thi. To be your wife is my dream and how can I not live my dream. Infact I am longing when will it come true

Hearing her words . Manik pulled Nandini in bone crushing hug

Manik : you scared me.

Nandini : don't you trust me

Manik : I trust you, would you actually be sad to leave your parents house

Nandini : no Manik , as long as you re with me I can stay anywhere . I was just fooling with you , and sujata was sad only because she has to go USA after marriage and so she may not meet her parents for at least year or so . why should I be sad , my parents are so close by me even after marriage , I can meet them anytime .

Manik : okay now listen I want you to be very careful from now on as I am scared for the first time in life ,after what Satish told you , when he left from here. I am sure he will do something soon.

Nandini : even I am having the same feeling , but don't worry Manik , when we are together we need not worry.

Manik : accha chalo ab yaha se , remember we both are always staying together and that too with our friends nearby till marriage at least as we cannot take risk. Once I reach Mumbai I will lodge a police complaint also against him . always remember in panic situations, we shouldn't get carried away emotionally but react wisely.

As Nandini and Manik were walking towards their villas when something struck Manik's head from behind . it was Satish who struck Manik with a bamboo stick. Manik turned to acknowledge the attacker , Nandini could see blood flowing from Manik's head

Manik : nandu run to get help I will manage him

Nandini just remembered what Manik had told him a few moments ago and ran from there towards for help , she screamed and gathered people for help. Manik fell on the ground and tightly gripped satish's legs so that he could not move . Satish was trying hard to free himself and get his hands on Nandini , but he could not. Nandini could manage to get Cabir , harshad and the others. Harshad catches Satish and Nandini goes to manik,

Nandini : Manik ...get up

Cabir and harshad got hold of Satish. Meanwhile Nandini asked other to carry Manik to room and get a first aid box immediately. Nandini did the dressing for the wound and gave Manik painkiller tablets to reduce his pain. Manik was better now. Nyonika was all this time in tears seeing bleeding Manik , but Nandini convinced her that it was not major injury just a cut which would be fine and after getting back to Mumbai she will get Manik tested thoroughly for further internal head injuries, as of now everything is under control.

Nyonika went towards Satish who was still under Cabir and harshad's hold and slapped him hard.

Nyonika : why do you do this.

Satish : tell your son to stay away from Nandini.

Manik was boiling in anger and was about to get up to hit him for talking in this tone to his mother, but Nandini stopped him

Nyonika : who are you to say that , she is my would be daughter-in-law

Satish : I love Nandini , and your son came between us.

Shailaja was listening to all this she was surprised to listen to these words from Satish , whom she presumed to be a good friend of Nandini so far.

Shailaja : (slaps Satish) you were a good friend to Nandini , that is all I know and that is what my daughter felt for you, she never loved you.

Satish : aunty even you cannot understand me. I Love Nandini and want to marry her. I was just waiting for the right time to ask her hand in marriage form you both. And today I get this news . I am broken apart.

Shailaja : did Nandini make any such promise to you.

Satish : no

Shailaja : Satish , your love is one sided, I know from the day we have shifted in this new house I have seen her love for Manik in her eyes. She loved him even before they met. She is lucky that she found love in return of her love. you were not that fortunate enough. But definitely Nandini respects you as a friend and never ever loved you. In fact you claim that you love her, but when you love someone you never hurt them. by hurting Manik and trying to separate them you are hurting her. You should be happy to see she is happy and let her go.

Hearing these words Satish broke down. He was sobbing, as if realization had stuck him.

Satish : (to Nandini) I am sorry Nandini to have hurt you and Manik. I had become greedy , I just could not bear the pain of losing you to someone else , I was jealous , what can I do I love you so much . i will try to stay away from you both and never again show my face to you both. I am sorry please forgive me.

Harshad : enough of your drama.

Cabir : I think we should inform police and hand him over to him.

Nyonika : no I don't think so we should do this , it will spoil his career , I think we should give him a chance and forgive him

Satish : aunty I am really sorry from my heart I will never do this to anyone . I don't know what overtook me these two days , I have never behaved so in my life . I am ashamed of myself.

Manik gets up from the couch he was lying comes towards Satish and keeps starring him , but Satish was too ashamed to look into Manik's eyes, he bowed down his head and was looking down only. Manik stares him for a while. And then speaks

Manik : why do you think I will believe you

Satish : I know it is difficult for you to believe me , I cannot force you to do so. You can take whatever action against me , I agree that I was at fault.

Manik hugs Satish to surprise everyone present in the room and forgives him Satish touches Shailaja, Venkatesh , Nyonika and harshvardhan's feet to ask for pardon as well blessings , once again pleads Manan for apology and leaves from there

Cabir : (to Satish) before you leave , remember stick to your words and stay away from us and my sources will keep me informed about all your moves so never ever try to act smart with me. Now their safety is my responsibility , because Nandini is not only my bhabhi but my sister as well , so just leave them alone .

Satish moves out from there Manik hugs Nandini , Manan are then hugged by fab4, navya, abhimanyu as if assuring them their care and protection for them.

Nyonika and Shailaja too hugged Manan.

Nyonika : chalo baccho ab so jaate hain kal sujata aur harshad ki shaadi hai.

All retire to their respective room. Next day to Nyonika has arranged spa session for the girls so they are refreshed and revitalized

Nandini : first let me check Manik before going for spa

Nandini went to Manik's room to find him sleeping

Cabir : he did not sleep whole night , not because of the pain in head , but he was scared to core . he is scared of losing you. He needs you . I am out supervising the arrangements stay here and give him some TLC assuring him that you are here with him and forever. From 2-3 days he is missing you a lot.

Nandini : I will

Nandini caresses his hair and kisses Manik on forehead.

Manik : good morning Jaanu. Itni jaldi uth gayi. Shaadi to sham ko hai na

Nandini : is you head hurting

Manik : no

Nandini : I think you should freshen up, have your breakfast and medicines and then rest

Manik : on one condition you will stay with me all the while.

Nandini : just one few hours more till evening then promise I will always by your side .

Manik : promise

Nandini : Nandini promise, you go and freshen up I will get your breakfast here okay

Manik : sab kuch mujhe hi khilaungi ya khud bhi kuch kahogi.

Nandini : Jaan kya tumhe lagta hai sach mein Satish is sorry for what he has done.

Manik : lagta toh kuch aise hi hain , let's see

Nandini : I hope he finds his soul mate and be happy in his life

Manik : Hmm. Are you scared?

Nandini hugs Manik and begins to cry

Manik : kya hua nandu,

Nandini : you are hurt because of me. I will never forgive Satish for this

Manik : meri Jaan toh tumhe baasi hai toh mujhe kuch nahi hoga.

Manik kisses her on her cheeks then on both her eyes and then takes on her lips for a passionate kiss

Nandini : Jaan , mom ne hum sab girls ke liye spa arrange karvaya hai , should I go for it .

Manik : spa session , of course Nandini you should go for it . It will help you to rejuvenate.

Nandini : okay then take these medicines , and then take some rest , I will go for the spa and after that I that we will have lunch together okay.

Manik : pehle mera dose deti jao and hugs her and kisses her ample of times saying every time it is the last one.

Nandini messages Cabir that she is going for the spa with girl's gang and Manik is sleeping in the villa . so to take care of him she will back soon. After her session of spa she comes to Manik's room to find boys chatting , but Manik was sleeping in other room . she checks him for fever , but is satisfied that he was not having any, she was growing impatient and wanted to get his test done as soon as possible as she could rule out the possibility if internal head injury. She prayed to god that her fears don't come true. And Manik is fit and fine.

The mandap for wedding was set up in the centre of the lawn and seats were arranged around the mandap a small basket of flower petals was placed on every seat to be showered on the bride and groom The boys were attired in sherwanis with broach and pagdi. Manik and cabir went towards the mandap to supervise work and arrangement, they then headed towards the hotel to check arrangements where they had made arrangements for harshad and sujata's first night . when they came back they found everyone decked up in their best mukti aliya and navya were sitting in one corner

Mukti : Manik tu jise dhoond raha hain who yahan nahi hai.

Aliya : It is a warning, you heart may skip the beat , because she looking damn beautiful

Manik smiles on hearing about these comments from mukti and aliya for his nandini and was eager to see her.Fab5 joined the baraatis who brought harshad in a wedding procession from one of the villas. The relatives were dancing crazily until the procession reached the gates of the lawn. Then sujata mother and other relatives were waiting to welcome procession traditionally by doing aarti. Everyone took their seats and harshad followed by his friends went up on the mandap. Pandit asked to call the bride.

Manik eyes were eager to see his angel. After a wait for few minutes sujata and Nandini entered the lawn with other cousins of sujata. When Manik saw Nandini everything around her blurred and he could only see Nandini. Seeing his intense stare on her made the blood rush to her cheeks and color them red, as they came on the stage . The bridal couple stood facing each to welcome each other by exchanging garland. But Manik standing behind harshad could not see anything except Nandini. After garland exchange the couple were made to sit and the pandit began to chant mantras and proceed with rituals , Manik was standing beside Nandini holding her hand.

Manik : do you have any idea what havoc you are creating in me. I just can't take my eyes off you , come let us also get married along with them.

Nandini : Jaan, wait for 14 days more.

Pandit asked the bridal couple to stand for the pheras .after the pheras, harshad applied sindoor on sujata's forehead and place his token of love and coveted her as his wife by putting the mangalsutra in her neck. The pandit finally announced the couple as husband and wife. The bridal couple were showered with flowers . then they both proceeded to get blessings from the pandit and the elders

Manik : Finally the wedding is over now at least now I am your priority.

Nandini : so bring it on Mr. Malhotra what is on your wish list

Manik pulled Nandini to deserted place and sealed his lips with hers for an indulgent kiss for which she readily gave in.

After all rituals it was time for sujata's bidaai, it was a very emotional moment for all of them , even Manik could not control himself at that moment and couple departs for the hotel. And rest retire to their villas. Fab5, nandini, navya and abhimanyu are sitting together discussing the rituals as they would be going through all these in next 14 days.

Aliya : I will not cry from my bidaai, it will spoil my makeup.

Mukti : same here, but I love that sindoor and mangalsutra

Nandini : we all say so that we would not be crying for our bidaai , but at that moment tears just pour out.

Manik (whispers in nandini's ears) I want you with me tonight, I promise I will behave properly , please be with me tonight.

Nandini : Manik you are such a darling , and blinks her eyes in affirmation.

Manik : now since harshad and sujata are not with us and we have two villas with four bedrooms cant we spend night with our better half for today. Please

Cabir : what please definitely, I am sleeping with navya tonight. So guys do whatever you want man , I am signing off with navya , goodnight, shab a khair, shubh ratri

Everyone wish each other goodnight and are off to sleep. Manan are in one room. Manik cuddled with Nandini in his arms and slept, as next morning they had to leave for Mumbai.
