Sujata's wedding.
Part 13
Sujata 's Wedding Venue was very scenic and beautiful . Nandini met many of her old college friends there, she introduced Manik to them as her fianc . But there was a friend who was not happy to meet manik and no rewards to guess who was he, of course Satish . The feeling were the same with Manik too . Villas were allotted to everyone. Sujata, Nandini, Navya, Mukti and Alya took up one villa and besides then Manik, Cabir, Dhruv, Abhimanyu and Harshad .
Preparations for engagement were in full swing. Manik was getting restless as he had not met Nandini after lunch and it has been quite a few hours , he was ready for the engagement party and was waiting along with harshad , Cabir Dhruv, abhimanyu was waiting for sujata and Nandini to come there.
Cabir : (to tease manik ) yeh ladkiyon ko bolo engagement aaj hain
Dhruv : yaar yeh dost ki shaadi mein itna tayar hoti hain toh apni khud ki shaadi mein kya hoga
Cabir : apni shaadi jab tayar hokar bahar aayegi tab tak hum budhe ho chuke honge.
Abhimanyu : bohot cheesy tha ye cabir.
Manik : she is not answering my calls also.
Cabir : lo kuch toh bola manik ? why don't you go and check on her . Or should I?
Dhruv : no manik , sabar kar aati hi hogi , aur shayad purse mein hoga mobile isliye answer nahi kar rahi.
But manik is not only worried becoz nandini has not come still , but also because he cannot see Satish also around
Manik : Harshad tera friend Satish kahi dikhayi nahi de raha hai
Harshad : arey usse maine town bheja hai kuch lane ke liye , aata hi hoga
Manik was relieved to hear this and Just then Nandini enters with sujata followed by mukti , alya , navya and other friends.
Manik could not take off his eyes of nandini . by that time satish also enters the hall.
Nyonika : manik mooh bandh karo, aakhir malhotra's ki bahu hai . elegant glamorous to lagna hi hain
Manik is embarrassed by nyonika comments , Nandini signals him mental kiss when she sees him as if she understood how restless he was. Manik does not responds to her mental kiss . Soon the rituals for engagements are done and rings are exchanged . As the rituals are over everyone come forward to wish and bless the couple Nandini takes this chance and comes near manik who is sitting with cabir, dhruv , abhimanyu and manik were sitting in one corner . seeing nandini cabir sighs and says
Cabir : thank god Nandini tum aa gayi , yeh majnu bekaboo ho raha tha . agar tum aur thodi der nahi aati toh yeh bomb phat jata.
Manik : (makes a sad face and without looking at Nandini ) cabir , mujhe kisi se koi baat nahi karni hai, dophar se kisi ko meri fikar hi nahi hai, mere phone ka jawab bhi nahi diya . yahan jab se aaye hai kisi ke paas mere liye waqt hi nahi hai. ab hamare bare mein kaun sochega saare purane friends jo mil gaye hai. Soch raha hoon kal performance ke baad laut jaunga.
Nandini : (smiles) Cabir koi mujhse bohat khafa hai. Aur kuch toh jal raha hain.
Cabir: kuch jala raha hain, yaha sab kuch jal chukka hain dekho kapde bhi kale ho gaye hai
Manik : cabir yaar to mera dost hai ya uska. Manik turns his face to other side still not facing Nandini.
Nandini : cabir, main toh jaise hi chance mila yahan kisi ko milne aayi thi , khair agar kisi ko nahi milna toh chali jaati hoon main.
Nadini makes a pretends move to go when manik holds her hand but still is not looking at her.
Cabir : kabab mein haddi ka kya kaam , ( to dhruv and abhimanyu) chalo dosto apni apni laila ke paas, thoda bohot hum bhi ishq hum bhi jata le . In dono love birds ko akela chhod do
Nandini : manik , please samjha karo, jo tumhara haal hain wahi mera bhi, I was dying to see you, par kya karu sujata ki shaadi hai I was helping her to get ready phir baaki to bhi help kiya aur phir mujhe bhi to sajna tha na tumhare liye. I was also missing you manik. Mera phone shayad purse mein hi hain isliye maine nahi answer kiya. Manik please gussa chodo . look here , I came as soon as I was free only for you. Jaan please kuch toh bolo na . gussa karne mein waqt nikal doge. Mein kaisi lag rahi hoon
Manik : (turns to look at Nandini and smiles) kya kaha tumne.
Nandini : arey abhi phir se bolna padega .
Manik : nahi aakhir mein mujhe kya bulaya tumne, phir se bolo
Nandini : (blushing) Jaan
Manik melts down hearing JAAN and pulls her near him . the way you are looking you are tempting me to commit crime. If you want to make up for the galati then you have bear the punishment i. tumhe meri punishment jhelni hogi agreed
Nandini : agreed.
Manik : sochlo , agree karne se pehle.
Nandini : soch liya , anything for your smile. Love you Jaan
Manik : love you to Janu . kya karu tumhe dekhe bina nahi jee sakta , aur upar se yaha woh satish bhi toh hai.
Nandini : kya , satish se tumhe kya.
Manik : I was seeing him in the morning how he was starring at you , abhi bhi function mein harshad se chipak kar stage par khada hain so that he can be close to you. I am not liking it.
Nandini : oh to isliye itne sad ho gaye tum. Remember woh mujhe sirf dekh sakta hain , aur main to sirf tumhari hoon . and his presence does not affect me
Manik : I know Jaanu , I trust you and not him , I don't want him anywhere near you.
Nandini : Possessive , possessive , Isliye mental kiss ka jawab bhi nahi diya
Manik : sorry Jaanu , but now I want to hug you Jaanu, I need it.
Nandini : abhi nahi jaan bas thoda aur intezaar. Ok
After dinner everyone retired to their villas. Nandini asked manik to meet her on their terrace . manik laid a ladder from their terrace to nandini's terrace as they were in adjacent villas and the distance was very less and climbed on nandini's terrace. Seeing Nandini there he just could control himself and hugged her tightly pecking her lips and kissing her all over her face . they stayed in each others arms for some time on the terrace .
Nandini : manik (manik puts fingers on her lips)
Manik : manik nahi Jaan.
Nandini : Jaan , listen tomorrow is sangeet so. We all college friends are planning a surprise act for su and jijs. So I will have to be with my friends for practice and this will not known by su and Jijs(Harshad). We have told them that we are all going out for some shopping. Would you come along with me for practice or do you have to be fab5 for your song practice.
Manik : I wanted you to accompany me for practice tomorrow. Ok now listen when are you going to practice .
Nandini : we are planning that tomorrow we will pretend to leave by 10 and then we all will assemble on any of the villa's terrace or room and practice for 1-2 hours . one more thing manik this is my best friends wedding and after wedding in a few days she will be gone to USA with harshad and I don"t know then when will I meet her , so I need to be with her , don't misunderstand me , I miss you also a lot , but I can't always ask you to be with me as I know you need to be FAB5 also. So just for this 2-3 days don't be angry with me, and as far as Satish is concerned , he is also harshad and Sujata's friend so he is always there I can't avoid him. But I promise that I will try and stay far away from as much as possible.
Manik : I understand Nandini , but the way that jerk stares at you I don't like even after knowing that we are engaged and so getting married . anyways I will control myself for 2-3 days , and you will careful with Satish . you go ahead with practice with your friends but after that you come and join us fab5 for practice.
Nandini : cool
Next day as planned they practiced , It was evening the stage was set for the sangeet performance, gazebos were set up for the mehendi function. Fab5 were the one to inaugurate the sangeet ceremony . guests present there were thrilled with their performances. One by one the performance were done . alya and mukti danced to "CHITTIYAN KALAIYAAN " , Harshad and Satish on "DELHI WALI GIRLREIND" Sujata parents performing on SHAWA SHAWA " manik knew Nandini was getting ready for her performance. Suddenly he hears nandini's performance announced . The crowd cheering the loudest as this was the performance by the bride herself alongwith her best friend Nandini. The stage lights were switched off . manik could see two girls sitting down on the stage with their dupatta over them and the music started
Nandini and sujata were sitting with backs towards the audience as the song began bole chudiyan bole kangana - they were swaying their hands in air and then slowly get up still with dupatta on them turned and now were facing the audience, the stage lights were switched on for the second stanza Hai main ho gayi teri saajna - raised their dupatta and Nandini smiled and winked and pointed her hand towards manik and sujata towards harshad. Mainik was on the seventh heaven with this move of Nandini . audience began whistling to cheer the girls . Nandini dance move on le jaa le jaa stanza melted manik's heart and he felt like to carry her away. They danced on the first para of this song , then they danced on the KAMLI song from dhoom3 and the third and last they danced on the song BALAM PICHKARI (YJHD) in which they asked harshad and manik to join them . the crowd cheered them to perform once more . but Nandini announced it is not over and just wait they have saved the best for the last. manik was dumbstruck with her bold move . and the way she was responding and connecting with audience.
Manik : that was very sizzling performance jaanu
Nandini : thankyou.
Manik : But this was not the song you practiced right. Even in your practiced you never showed but brilliant moves or energy as you sowed today.
Nandini ; we changed the songs and I was save the best for the last. So you have to see the next performance.
Nandini headed to change for her next performance manik accompanied
Till then there were performances by children. The final surprised performance of the day was musical skit to be performed by college friend of the bridal couple just depicting their from college life of harshad and sujata till their wedding . nandini and Satish played Sujata and Harshad . To begin the performance they showed that all friendship in earlier stages in classroom having fun and dancing to the song "har ek kamina hota hain " then they show harshad's feelings for Sujata by dancing to the song "tune maari entry" from GUNDAAY , next step was to show Sujata's feeling for Harshad they danced to song "sun saathiya " from ABCD2 to show love blossoming between the two they danced to the song SAREE KE FALL SA from,R RAJKUMAR . and finally they brought sujata and harshad on stage to celebrate their marriage and all danced to the song "1234" from Chennai express . The audience too matched steps and began dancing. Manik was noticing Nandini and her dance moves and was thrilled to see gleaming with confidence , he felt she was a complete performer . suddenly he saw that satish was trying to get close to her and he purposely put in his foot between nandini's so that she falls and it so happened that she tripped and fell down only to saved by satish who caught her . Nandini arose from his arms and thanked him without knowing the fact that is only because him she fell . manik's anger sore,
He could no longer bear this jerk. While moving down from the stage satish was trying to strike conversation with Nandini , but Nandini was trying to avoid him politely as she knows she cannot hurt manik. As she came down manik was there waiting for her. He pulled her into a bone crashing hug . and kept staring at satish as if he was warning him not to intrude in her property . Nandini sweating profusely and needed to change for mehndi function.
An hour later - all of then were sitting in the lawn and chatting Nandini came towards manik after changing her dance costume.
Cabir : look the beauty is here. Nandini you have surprised us. Not only surprised in fact I should say bowled us. Dancing bhi. Kya hai jo tumhe nahi aata hai. Kya confidence hai tumhara no stage fear at all . when I saw you my first impression about you was you are seedhi- saadhi, bholi bhali , sharmili. But you are proving me wrong day after day.
Aaliya : yaa Nandini what a performance .
Nandini : thank you guys, we even you all were brilliant I did not see your performance missed it but I could hear you all sing. And audience cheering you all and will definitely see the recording
Dhruv: but you were the shining star tonite. Your performance has surpassed ours
Manik : Cabir ne tumhara poora performance video shoot kiya hai. I will keep all these memories they are like pearls for me..
Nyonika came running towards Nandini and hugged he tightly
Nyonika : what a performance nandu , you make me proud , Wow mesmerizing it was, nazar utarni padegi . waise I am confused ke bride hain kaun everyone is glued their eyes on you , Shailaja and Venkatesh ko tumhare liye proposals bhi aa rahe . thank god I claim you before anyone can lay their eyes on you, come I want you to meet certain people so they know you are my would be daughter-in-law
Manik : mom not now please, let her meet tomorrow. I want her by my side now please. It is a long wait for me. I can't share her now beyond this
Nandini : mom I am very tired and hungry also. Please.
All including harshad and sujata were having dinner .Nandini and manik were feeding each other and . when sujata's mother came along to inform to get mehndi applied on their hands
Manik : jaanu tum mehndi lagaongi na?
Nandini : of course Jaan. Tumhare liye. Par tum aisa kyun puch rahe ho.
Manik : you are tired na, I don't know whether you like it or no and if you will I will feel special ke tum mera naam ki mehndi apne hathon par laga rahi ho.
Nandini sat besides sujata to get mehndi applied on her hands manik was sitting next to nandini holding by her waist . everyone was teasing manan for their closeness, but nandini was shooing away their comments saying they all were jealous of them, nandini asked the lady to write MANAN on her hand taking hint from nandini other also followed the trend and wrote dhrulya, cavya, mukbhi.
mehendi and chitter -chatter session lasted till 12p.m. Everyone being tired were retiring to their rooms . manik and nandini were left alone
Manik : jaanu, how talented you are, how do you manage to do so many things so perfectly, I just couldn't get my eyes off you today.
Nandini : agar patidev itne talented hain toh biwi ko unka level match karna padega na.
Manik : you are trying to match my level , jaanu you are more talented than me dear I need to match you up.
Nandini : aacha I don't like these talks of who is better only I know is we are best for each other without any difference.
Hearing this Manik , leaned down and softly kissed her to which she replied with equal intensity , Nandini showed him her mehndi which had in dark maroon almost black.
Nandini : see how deep is our which reflects on my palms
Manik : This colour is measure of my love for you it. Nothing can measure my love for you.
Nandini : pecking his lips I LOVE YOU JAAN
He lifted her in his arms
Nandini : Jaan mehndi mere haathon mein lagi hai pairon mein nahi. I can walk
Manik : par tumhara lehenga bahut lamba hai , mehndi ke haathon se uthakar nahi chal paaogi isliye Janu
Nandini : kitna khayal rakhte ho mera.
Manik carried her till her room kissed her goodnight and when she had gone inside the room left from there for his room.
This was being observed by Satish , who felt betrayed by Nandini. As he never in his wild dreams thought Nandini would fall in love with other guy, he always felt that though Nandini had refused his proposal one day she will accept his proposal and if not she then he would ask her hand from her parents and get married to her and she was his only. But now he had decided to do whatever and separate manik and Nandini.
