chapter 22
Scene1 ---*----(SPACE academy , auditorium)------*----(5.30 pm)-------*---------
Harshad was shocked seeing Navya.. Harshad uttered " Navya.. tum.." Navya was giving tough looks to him.
Harshad "Look.. navya.. I.. I admit maine Dhruv ko hurt kia tha.. but trust me.. Soha k sath maine koi misbehave nhi Kia.."
Navya was shocked and hurt at the same time.. Navya with teary eyes "Soha..!! Hume to pta hi nhi tha ye.. Acha hua aapne apne muh se bol dia." leaving Harshad shocked.
Navya continued " Aur bhi kuch h toh aj hi bta dijiye harshadji.."
Harshad " Navya trust me. I didn't do anything.. This girl was trying to get close to me.."
Soha was shocked.. So was Dhruv. Soha in a loud voice "What the hell are u saying Harshad"
Harshad continued "And when I resist.. She said let's just have some fun.."
Dhruv shouted "just shut your mouth harshad" and he angrily rushed towards harshad.. But Cabir and mukti had stopped him in time..
Cabir " Dhruv.. take it easy.." while holding Dhruv's arm tightly.
Aaliya " Dhruv.. Ho skta bhai sach..."
Dhruv shouted "maine khud dekha.. I saw him misbehaving with her.." leaving aaliya shocked..
Harshad to Aaliya " Aaliya.. Listen. I think, Soha is trying to trap me.. I don't know the reason but m sure..."
Aaliya shouted " enough bhai.. Enough".. she took a pause and said " no more explanations.. please .. I am also a girl.. What if someone tells you the same about me that you r talking about this girl. How can u fall so low.." . Harshad was speechless..
Aaliya continued in her trembling voice "I was always disappointed with u for ur past mistakes but today... Today i m ashamed of u.." and a tear escaped from her eyes.. Harshad kept looking at her in disbelief.. Though Harshad was a jerk but he loved his sister more than anything else in the whole world..
Mukti came forward and put her hand on aaliya's shoulder.. Aaliya wiped off her tears and firmly said " ab aapke lie main kisi ko explanation nhi de skti.. just walk out of my life bhai.. Please.."
Harshad was shocked .. He had never thought that aaliya his little sister could ever be so rude with him.. Harshad slowly walked towards the door.. For a moment his eyes met with Navya's who was teary eyed.. He opened his mouth to talk to her but Navya took her eyes off him and looked away.. Harshad angrily walked out of the auditorium.
Fab3 hugged aaliya as she was crying.. Navya's eyes met with Soha but Navya immediately turned as she was teary eyed.. She wiped off her tears. Soha was too upset with the incidence.. She sat down on a chair.. Navya waked to Soha who was stealing her looks.. Navya "tum theek ho.?"
This caught Fab4's attention.. They were all looking at Soha with their long faces. Soha gave a faint smile and pretended to be fine .
Soha " yaaa... Muje.. Muje kya hoga.." gulping her saliva and looking down. Navya took out her phone and said "main Nandu ko call krti hun". Soha immediately stood up saying " No navya.. U won't tell her.. Na use.. Na hi bhai ko.."
Navya looked at her in disbelief and said " tum pagal ho gai ho kya.. itni bdi baat.."
Soha " I'll tell nandu once she is back.. But bhai ko kbhi nhi. please..its a request" holding navya's hands in her. Navya nodded still being confused..
Suddenly Aaliya moved and walked to soha.. Aaliya stealing her looks said " m...m really sorry because of my bhaaa.."
Soha immediately said in a high voice "please.." leaving everyone surprised.
Soha composed herself and said "Don't be.. Its not your fault.. I don't want anybody's sympathy or sorry." and she rushed out of the auditorium. Navya was confused.. She immediately rushed to follow soha...
Mukti screamed " What the hell yaar.. Ek to Harshad k lie tu sorry bol rhi thi and this girl.. So much attitude.."
Cabir with a tired face " mukti.. Please.. not now.. Let's take aaliya home.."
Aaliya " m fine Cabir.. I'll just come from washroom" and she rushed towards the door.. Mukti was still annoyed at Soha..
Dhruv " mukti.. Try to understand.. Soha might be feeling low.. Uske sath ekdum ye sb hua."
Aaliya had reached at the door and was shocked seeing aryamann. Aryamann was confused listening their talks..
Dhruv continued " Harshad misbehaved with Soha.. She is upset..relax.."
Aryamann's eyes got widened and his mouth was opened disbelieving what he had just heard.. Aaliya didn't know how to react.. Aryamann fumed and rushed towards music wing.
Aaliya worriedly said to herself " oh God.. I should stop him in time." while rushing to stop him.. Aaliya hurriedly walked and in within no time she was standing right in front of aryamann..
Aaliya worriedly " aryamann .. Look..." Aryamann almost shouted "get out of my way.."
Aaliya got scared with his loud voice. Aryamann fumingly "I know you are harshad's sister.. I don't want any explanation from u" showing eyes to her.. And he walked towards music wing.. She kept looking at him. She couldn't believe that he was the same guy who always preaches about art of living, philosophy of life, who was telling her not to get angry a few hours back.
Scene2-----*----(competition venue, music room.. 6.15 pm)-----*--------*---
Nandini was walking to and fro with a tensed face.. She murmured "why manik is acting so weird.. Rehearsal k baad se gayab h"
Suddenly Raghav came and said " Nandini.. Why r u so nervous? This is not ur first time."
Nandini thought " first manik, then Maddie, and now sir.. Why everyone is asking the same question? This isss my first time.. huh". She managed to say " I... don't know sir"
Raghav " Well. u two have done a good job. Good music.. Good Lyrics.. So don't be nervous.."
Nandini being lost in her thoughts murmured "But I feel that something is still missing. Where are u manik."
Scene3 -*---*------* ------ (SPACE academy -auditorium 6.20 pm) .---*
Dhruv was passing by the auditorium of dance wing. Suddenly he stopped and recalled the incidence happened a few hours back. The door of auditorium was half opened.. Suddenly his eyes fell on a girl inside the auditorium.. All lights were off.. Only a dim light was falling at the middle of the stage.. The girl was on the stage having her back facing Dhruv.. She was wearing a black crop top and black pants that ended below her knees.. She was trying to do some particular steps on a song but couldn't get those steps correctly.. Her actions were showing that she was frustrated.. She threw away her cell but luckily it fell on the sofa.. She again played the song on the music player..
The girl sighed and made herself calm down.. She slowly tried matching her steps with the notes of song.. The song wasn't clearly audible.. Dhruv was observing her actions.. He slowly opened the door and went inside..
"hooo"
"Hooo.. sun saathiya maahiya... Barsa de ishqa ki syahiyaan" ( She bent down slowly , picked a black cloth lying on the floor ..she held the corners of the cloth in her both hands and made it wrap around her from back)
Dhruv walked to the sofa, picked up her phone and slowly walked towards her..
"Rang jaaun, rang rang jaaun ri, haari main.. Tujhpe main jhar jhar jhar jaaun.. ( she was nodding and moving her neck ,moving her feet with the beats of the song.. )
" Hoon piya bas teri main.. Ho chhu le toh khari main ..toh khari main... khari main...".. ( she twirled the cloth around her really fast)
Ho.. sun saathiya.. maahiya...Barsa de... ishqa ki ... syahiyaan"
She was twirling like anything, taking rounds with too much intensity with that cloth twirling around her face.. Dhruv narrowed his gaze at her but wasn't able to see her face.. It was dark... She was moving her feet, her hands ,her neck, her body with much speed and passion.. Dhruv slowly moved to the stage and was trying to see her face.. She was dancing with much passion and was lost in her own world.. Suddenly she threw away that cloth up in the sky and took a few turns while twirling looking up in the sky.. Her hair was falling on her face.. Her face was still not clear.. And she bumped into Dhruv.. the cloth fell down on her face . Dhruv had held her from waist.. He slowly removed the cloth and held his breath seeing her.. She was Soha.. Soha was looking at him with much surprise while continuously blinking her eyes in disbelief.. Dhruv looked into her eyes.. They had an eyelock.
" Main ret si, boond ka zariya tu . Paa ke tujhe bheeg jaaun re .
She started revolving around Dhruv while looking at him.. Dhruv was also looking at her..
" Main ret si, boond ka zariya tu.. Paa ke tujhe bheeg jaaun ri (while revolving around him she recalled Dhruv beating Harshad and taking her side in front of everyone..)
" Tar jaaun tar tar jaaun.. Dariya ye tar jaaun jee" ( she get away from him and started dancing while looking at him )
" Ishq ye paake main tera.. Nikhar jaaun ri" ( she again came near to him and took a few rounds)
Piya bas teri main Ho.. chhu le toh khari main... toh khari main.. khari main... ( she again get away from him and danced being lost in herself.. She twirled , she twisted, she closed her eyes as pain was the only thing visible in her eyes .. She recalled harshad's words for her and she fell down..)
Dhruv had moved a bit to help her but before that she composed herself and stood up.
" Ho.. sun saathiya maahiya... Barsa de ishqa ki syahiyaan" ( Soha was teary eyed ..and was breathing heavily.. Dhruv was dumbstruck seeing that vulnerable side of Soha)
Song ended .. It was all silent. Dhruv came out his trance and took a few steps towards her.. She immediately turned her back towards him and wiped off her tears.. Dhruv stopped right there only..
Dhruv uttered " your.. Your.. phone" gulping his saliva. Soha didn't turn back.. He knelt down, placed her phone on the floor and immediately rushed out of the auditorium.. She was hearing his decreasing footsteps but didn't turn to look back.. And another tear escaped from her eye..
Scene 4 (competition venue - changing room, 6.45 p.m.)
Nandini was sitting in front of mirror with a frowny face.. Nandini to herself "If he is annoyed at me? But what did I do.. Aaiappaa... Pls tell na.." while trying to wear her ear ring..
Manik had not shown his face to her since 5.15 pm and was behaving weird during rehearsal.. Nandini was getting restless because of that attitude of his..
Suddenly Manik who was wearing a black vest and a pair of blue denims entered in the changing room and saw her.. She was wearing a lemon kurti and her hair was tied in a bun.. She had put on a little make up and was looking simply beautiful.. Manik was mesmerized with her simple yet beautiful look.. His was looking at her with his much love filled eyes..
Suddenly Nandini saw Manik's reflection in the mirror and her eyes grew wider seeing him and a little smile crept on her face.. He was intensely gazing at her without blinking his eyes, not even for a moment.. Their reflections had an eyelock in the mirror..
Nandini thought " I so wanted to see you manik.. Where were u? " and immediately turned her head to look back.. But he wasn't there.. Nandini being impatient " Abhi to tha.. Where did he disappear? " while looking around..
Manik was hiding behind the costumes hanging there on a stand and was smiling looking at her.. Nandini slowly turned back and again look into the mirror and was again surprised to see Manik.. He was smiling at her.. Nandini closed her eyes for a while and thought "No.. He is not here bcz he can't smile.. Kadva karela.." . She opened her left eye a little but couldn't see Manik's relflection in the mirror..
Meanwhile manik had put on his shirt and was still hiding behind the stand..
Nandini opened both eyes and said " I knew it.. He is not here.. kadva karela.. Huh.." Manik smiled at her cuteness.. Nandini took a pause and said " toh.. Toh kya.. I was imagining him." while looking down. Manik smirked seeing the effect he was making on her..
Nandini eyes grew wider in nervousness and her ear ring fell down from her hand on the dressing table .. She immediately stood up and looked at her in the mirror and worriedly said " what's wrong with me?." . She took a few steps in backward direction while looking at herself.. And suddenly bumped into manik.. She turned and was shocked and lost at the same time.. She uttered " are u real.. ?"
Manik " what?"
Nandini came out of her trance and said " wo. Wo.. Tum yaha kb aae."
Manik " main.. Wooohhh.. I toh just came.. To... To change.. Changing room h na.."
Nandini looked at him from head to toe and thought " Abhi to he was wearing vest.. No..no .. Manik yaha nhi tha.. he just came ..." she felt relieved but then again thought " that means I was certainly imagining him.. Aaiappa what is happening to me" while looking up in the sky.. Manik was trying hard to stop his laughter.
Manik " hello.. Kaha kho gai.." composing himself.
Nandini being nervous "just 15 minutes r left and u r not ready.. Tum Ab change krne aae ho.. When will u get ready?.."
Manik playfully " ummm.. I think my clothes are fine.. But look at u.. When will u get ready?."
Nandini being surprised turned and look into the mirror.. She found herself perfectly dressed up.. Manik took a step towards her and stood closer to her.. Nandini was seeing him in mirror. Manik put his hands on her shoulders. She held her breath.. Manik made her sit looking at her in mirror.. He leaned and brought his face closer to her face still standing behind her and looking into the mirror.. Nandini tightly clenched her fist.. He slowly moved his hand to her hair and freed her hair from her clip..
Nandini's heart drop down with the falling of her hair on her shoulders.. She immediately closed her eyes holding her breath.. Manik who was seeing her in the mirror also closed his eyes and smelled her beautiful locks .. Nandini was feeling his warm breath on her nape of her neck.. Manik extended his hand and picked up her ear ring from the table with his eyes still closed...
Nandini's heart was jumping like anything. He said in her ear in his husky voice " u forgot this.. Gir gya tha." while opening his eyes.. Nandini opened her eyes immediately and was dumbstruck seeing manik showing the ear ring to her..
Manik with a smile "wear it.. It looks good on u."
A little smile had started slowly creeping on her face but she immediately changed her expressions to an annoyed one and stood up. Manik backed off being surprised. Nandini turned to face him.
Nandini annoyingly "Wait a second.. Where were u for the past one and a half hour.. Han.."
Manik with a smile "were u missing me?" leaving her mouth open..
Nandini being embarrassed "no.. Not at all.. Why.. Why would I miss u.. It's just that muje ek baar aur rehearsal krna tha..". Manik's expressions changed from happy to a little annoyed and he utterred "ohhh.."
Manik thought "dude..control.. U are going too FAST "
Nandini "let's go."while taking a step . Manik immediately said "wait". Nandini "now what?"
Manik playfully "why are u annoyed at me?"
Nandini annoyingly "why were u teasing me in the morning"
Manik smirked and asked "why didn't u smile?"
Nandini showing fake anger "I won't smile aur na hi main WALK pe jaungi tumhare saath" and she took a few steps towards gate. suddenly she stopped, turned and said annoyingly "main toh tumse baat hi nahi krugi".
Manik smirked and said " fine.. Na lafz kharch krna tum na lafz hum kharch krege.. Eye to eye talk krege.." he winked at her.
Nandini gritted her teeth being more annoyed. She stomped her foot and walked out of the changing room.
Manik laughed and said "aj chahe kuch ho jae.. you can't stop me making u smile and taking you with me.. baat mat kro.. We will talk through expressions."
Scene 5 ---------*-- (competition venue"stage.. 7.10 pm)------*--------------
Manik was ready with his guitar looking at nandini. And she was also staring him while giving fake angry looks. He smiled at her but she looked away. He smirked and started strumming the guitar..
Manik "Kyon ...naa hum-tum.. Chale tedhe-medhe se raston pe nange paanv re.. Chal bhatak le na baawre" ( raghav, Kamini and nandini were shocked listening these lines as these were not the lines they had prepared)
Manik "Kyun na hum tum.. Phire jaake almast pehchaani raahon ke pare.. Chal bhatak le na baawre.. Inn timtimati nigaahon mein..(nandini was constantly blinking her eyes in disbelief)
"Inn chamchamati adaaon mein... Luke huey, chhupe huey. Hain kya khayaal baawre" ( he raised his eyebrow and gave Nandini a what-are-looking-at look . Nandini closed her mouth that was opened since the time he had started singing )
Meanwhile Manik walked towards her while playing his guitar.
Manik raising his eyebrows "Kyun naa hum-tum.. Chale zindagi ke nashe mein hi dhut sarphire.. Chal bhatak le na baawre.. Kyun na hum tum.. Talashein bageechon mein fursat bhari chhanv re.. Chal bhatak le na baawre" (he was constantly looking at her without blinking his eyes giving a play full smile to her)
" Inn gungunati fizaaon mein.. Inn sarsarati hawaaon mein.. Tukur-tukur yun dekhe kya. Kya tera haal baawre.." he winked at her .
Nandini was trying her best not to smile. She still gave him fake angry looks and started singing..
Nandini "Naa lafz kharch karna tum.. Naa lafz kharch hum karenge.. Nazar ke kankadon se.. Khamoshiyon ki khidkiyan yun todenge.. Mila ke mast baat phir karenge.. (while making an annoyed face)
Nandini "Naa harf kharch karna tum ...Naa harf kharch hum karenge.. Nazar ki syaahi se likhenge.. Tujhe hazaar chitthiyaan khamoshi jhidkiyaan..Tere pate pe bhej denge" (making a puppy face)
Manik "Sun khankhanati hai zindagi.. Le Humein bulati hai zindagi..(he came near to her while playing his guitar)
" Jo karna hai woh aaj kar .. Naa isko taal baawre ( he rubbed his shoulder against her. Nandini was loving this manik a lot. She wanted to smile to the fullest)
"Aha haaa.."
Manik " Kyun na hum tum.. Chale tedhe-medhe se raston pe nange paanv re.. ( he was nodding his head while giving cute looks to her.. A little smile had started creeping on her face )
"Chal bhatak le na baawre" ( he looked at her, blinked his eyes to persuade her to go with him by making a cute and innocent face..)
Nandini who was trying hard not to smile being mesmerized with his sweet gesture had smiled a little. Manik after seeing her smile became exited and continued
" Kyun na hum tum.. Phire jaa ke almast pehchani raahon ke pare .. Chal bhatak le na baawre.." ( he brought his face closer to her)
Inn timtimaati nigaahon mein.. ( looked into her eyes..)
Inn chamchamaati adaaon mein (while rolling his eyes over her face)
luke huey, chhupe huey... HAI KYA KHAYAAL BAAWARE ???( he raised his eyebrows asking her will she go out with him.. )
Nandini was lost in his eyes while smiling at his cute gesture . Suddenly her SMILE grew wider and wider .. She was smiling to the fullest..and she NODDED in a YES..--
