DAY 29! - Blind Love!
Love is pain. Love is tears. Love is heartache. But they don't want to stop loving.
Love is fear. Love is hurdles. Love is anger. But no, they don't want to stop loving.
Because after every night, a new morning rises. After every hurdle, you are free to run your race. After every tear, a pair of fingers always reach up to wipe them away. After every heartache, the heart starts to beat faster and stronger. Because after every fear, the determination to fight another fear emerges.
Love gives you strength. Love nurtures you to grow. Love empowers you to fight. Love teaches you to live.
Love is also smiles. Love is also light. Love is also calm. Perhaps that's why he can't stop loving her.
Love is also optimism. Love is also trust. Love is also hope. And that's why she can't stop loving him.
Why?
Because love is blind.
Love is when you fight with the world for the one you want to protect. Love is when you claim it your right to yell, scream, push, pull, question her as to why she won't let him fight for her? Why she won't let listen to a single word of his? Why she can't be just be that one more observant and aware of the danger lurking around her?
Love is when you hold her back even amidst the peak of your madness towards her. Love is when you refuse to talk to her because you're still utterly annoyed with her but you want her there. With you. Near you. To calm you.
Love is when you agree to her irrational demands. Even if it means it's for the last time. But you don't further argue because she's whispered "mere liye?"
Love is when your senses disregard all motion, all conversations, all actions taking place around you because both your heart and mind are drowning in tension. Love is when you have to pace yourself through the corridor in order to force the mind to originate a master plan which will finally set the heart in peace. Love is when the thoughts of losing her constantly flooding the inner-consciousness and the hands are fidgeting amongst each other because time is running out and the fear of losing her is intensifying.
Love is when you ignore all requests to leave from her behalf and decline to accept her illogical notion of not meeting each other. Love is when you adamantly stand outside a windowed door and absolutely compel her to escape from this baby-sitting concept by a friend and meet you no matter what.
This fight is blind. This need is blind. This love is blind!
Love is when you run back and bury yourself in his warmth because you need him just as much as he needs you. Love is when you look up into those pained eyes and try to soothe out that agony by assuring him that you are fine in his protective shield. Love is when you plead to him to control his wrath next time because this rage might engulf him too in its blazing flames. Love can never be one-sided. True love is always double-sided. Shared. And so if the fight to protect her has begun, the fight to protect him must initiate too. The fight is mutual. The need to protect is mutual. The inability to see the other hurt is mutual. Because the love is mutual.
Love is when you use your own smile to spread a smile on his face. Love is when you only leave his side convinced; that he won't end up in some sort of danger himself. Love is when you leave his presences confident; that his anger has now ceased and a gush of calm is has finally been inhaled by the heart.
Love is when you automatically are about to head out the classroom to meet him since the rehearsal is on an unplanned break. Love is when you propose white lies to your bestfriend just to distract her attention from the one standing outside that door.
"Veena...mai kabse veena koh play kar rahi thi na mera hand... it's hurting, toh mai bas isse stretch kar rahi thi...oww."
Love is when you excuse yourself somehow from the strict surveillance of your friend just so you can spend a few needful moments with him. You know that your heart wants to spend every moment of the day conversing with his heart. You know that it'll be equivalent to lying to yourself if you dismiss the thought of meeting him. So you fool the friend and escape to your love.
Why? Because the heart's call is blind. The soulful demand is blind. The love is blind!
Your love is blind right? You two seem to profess to understand each other better than none other correct? You seem to possess this talent of interpreting each other's silence, am I not wrong? Prove it!
She enters. He's already waiting.
She starts walking backwards. He starts treading forward.
She starts instructing. He starts questioning.
"Don't turn! Don't...turn!"
"What?! You mad... what're you doing?"
She starts with the explaining. Hoping he'll understand her insight. Convincing him to just calmly consider.
"Manik, before you get angry meri baat sunno. Yeh jo kasam hai na, it's got a loop whole. Hum ek dusre ko dekh nahi sakte but...par hum ek dusre se mil toh sakte hain na."
He starts with the arguing. Declining her every request to listen. Abandoning her appeal to adjust.
"Nandini...let me you. I don't believe in this kasam and all okay? All this bullshit!"
But you believe in her right? You believe in her trust. You believe in her faith. You believe in her thoughts. You believe in the decisions she takes. And so you stood with your back turned. With your face spun. You believe her, yes! Why? Because love is blind! Proof no.1
She finds home. He finds shore.
She leans aback. He comforts her.
Her eyes open, knowing he's are not shut either.
"Manik...mai bhi nahi maanti."
But you trust him. Trust him to not spin around and disregard your request. Trust him to not capture her sight in his eyes till you allow him to. Trust him to not jinx this whole situation because the weight of worries has already increased. Why? Because trust is love and your trust is blind. Your love is blind! Proof no. 2
She starts talking. He listens.
She expresses her needs. He attends to those needs.
She confesses her fears. He absorbs her terrors.
She pours out to him. He draws it all in.
He tries so reason. But she sighs in defeat.
"And thinking of all this. My heart hurts,"
"Hurts." Meaning pain. You can't bear to see her in pain right? Pain isn't allowed anywhere near her as long as you stand. You've promised to protect her. To never let pain touch her. But she's bound you with another promise. To not turn around. To not look at her. But as if that will stop you from fulfilling your promise. Why? Because promises are meant to be fulfilled. Because her fear is weaker than your promise. Because her pain is your priority. She is your priority.
You turn to fulfil the promise. You turn without breaking the second promise. She checks on you because you have this habit of cheating. She's just making sure because you like being just as stubborn as her at times. But you don't let her down. Why? Because you love her and she loves you too. And your love is blind! Proof No. 3
Love is when even with closed eyes; he can map out every inch of her face with the sight of his heart. Love is when he allows his fingers to smooth out every line of worry, every frown of distress from her face. Love is when his touch drives her to lean into his hands as if she's feeling his touch for the very first time. Love is when his fingers calm all her fears down and her face pacifies his panicking heart. Love is when they seem to be aware of each other's presence like never before. Love is when he smiles because he feels as if he can feel her soul today. Love is when she smiles because he knew the heart was craving his caress.
"Nandini...does it... still hurt?"
The touch. It has the power to heal. It has the power to reaffirm. It has the power to show them the light. It has the power to extinguish all fear, every worry. It has the power to allow the souls to communicate. It has the power to allow the heart to beat as one.
Love is when you transfer all your hope, all your optimism, all your courage to her and assure her that their togetherness isn't something she should fear because he's already with her.
"Nandini...kuch galat nahi hoga. I'm there na. I'm working on it."
The touch. It was blind, yet aware of every inch. Their touch. Their love. Blind, yet wide awake. Proof no. 4
Friendship is also love and love is when you religiously want to reunite with your lost friend. Love is when even if he detaches you from himself, you refuse to break this friendship. Love is when despite being aware of his meaningless hatred; you continue to effortlessly try to heal this broken relationship.
One brother is blinded by his love, and hence refuses to let go. The other is blinded by his hatred, and hence is refusing to hold on.
But her love is a fighter. Her love gives him strength to fight. So what if his love for friendship is weakening him again. His love for her will strengthen him tomorrow. Because love can be blind but it can't be ignorant. Love can be blind but it can't be deaf. Love can be blind but it can't be helpless.
That is their story. Blinded by their hope of togetherness. Blinded by the hope to become each other's music. Blinded by their faith in each other. Blinded by their blind love for each other.
_____________
Hello wala hi my love..and you just manage to amaze yet again..you pen such beautiful thoughts that i can't help but love all of it. sometimes i really have a hard time deciding which lines i should bold. Love is such a beautiful emotion, such a universal emotions and it takes so many names and forms and i loved how you explored the idea of it.
Love is strength, when one weakens, the other becomes their strength. And today, Manik was Nandini's strength, her comfort, her balm. Love is a need. The need to be near each other. Lies shall be spoken..loopholes shall be found. They always find their way home to each other. They say when one loses a sense, another sense is enhanced to make up for it. Manik and Nandini have lost their sight today, they can't see each other but they can feel each other..With closed eyes, their sense of touched in enhanced. She is tired, she is scared and she leans against his strong back and rests. Rests her mind, expresses her fear. Hurt, her heart is hurt. She is in pain. And Manik can't bear it, his Nandini can't hurt. "I wanna sing for you, with you for us." They are in a somewhat of a dark place right now..fighting the entire world, those against them for their hope, the room was symbolic of it..but even the darkness, there is enough light, enough hope for them to be able to reach out and touch.
Their shadows, their souls, they reach out and touch each other. Her touches soothes him. His touch heals her. His fingers caress her soft skin, skim down her face as he absorbs all the pain. He touches her heart and reaches in to take away all the hurt, pain, fear and only leaves his love for her. She smiles even when he can't see it. She lay her hand over his and they are at peace. His hands reach out and hold hers, and brightness shines. Their joined hands hold all the strength. And his words, he has understood that she needs his words so he reassures once again. He won't let anything go wrong, he is working on it. And Manik Maltorta always keeps his word.
Love is separation. "Har pyaar milan toh nahin. Judaai bhi toh ek pyaar hai." Some love stories aren't meant to have happy endings but at times, a short lived love story. That's all one person gets. Mukti, her time to love was not much. Love came with a big smiley face and taught her how to smile, how to live, how to be true to herself. And then he left, just as quickly as he came. Her time to love ended. But her time to live has just started. Abhi brought a new Mukti to life, now she must live, for herself, for the man who loved her, who still loves her from above.
Love is friendship. One of the very first forms of love a human being learns to love a friend. And now a friend has lost his way home, he refuses to come home. But love is also determination."You don't turn your back on your family even when they do." Manik wants his friend back, Cabir wants a hug from his friend. And both the friends hurt as Dhruv spits out hurtful words once again. They say some people put up walls just to see who will break them down. And Dhruv, so unloved he began to feel over time. This Dhruv, this is defence mechanism. Why should his heart hurt ? He rather hurt other people. This Dhruv has become selfish. Today, i am not frustrated with Dhruv, i am not mad. I am actually extremely saddened for him. To see him throw away the love he has been blessed with. How we all wish he could see right but he can't. Till yesterday, Manik's love suffocated him, Manik wasn't able to give him the priority he deserved. And today, he claims Manik is jealous of him. Oh Dhruv, when this fog clears and you are able to see right, it shall be a long ride home, where he will still be welcomed with open arms. Fab 5 will still hurdle as one and hug it out. But the difference, they will be stronger. Manik and Dhruv will mend their friendship. They are buddies, and they shall find a way to be buddies again.
Wonderfully penned today...and as always i loved it.
