DAY 28! - How dare you?
How dare he? How dare she? How dare they?
Panditji.
How. Disgustingly. Dare. He?! She coughed. She pleaded. She couldn't breathe. But he didn't give in. She fought. She appealed. Her ability to inhale slowly subsiding. The cloud of smoke blurring her mind. Her sense unable to stay awake any longer. But he stayed adamant.
"Sir this smoke is... this smoke is sir...I can't do this!"
How dare he stare at her with those preying eyes and malicious smile?! How dare he order her to not move from the endangered room as if she was some object that belonged to him?! How dare he pull the lock closed of a room which was solely meant to be used for rehearsal purposes?! How dare he forcefully close those eyelids that were searching for her saviour to come save her?! How dare he lay his dirty hands upon her untarnished frame when she started coughing feebly and was begging for a taste of fresh, breathable air?! How dare he use his manhandling power to disallow her from exiting the room of hell?!
She's not his! She was never his! She'll never be his!
How dare he fail to understand such a simple thought?!
How dare he try to separate the two lovers by transporting her to the unvisited basement rooms of the college?!
But he should have known better. The door finally flew open and he gushed in like a gust of fresh air to save her from collapsing with the lack of oxygen. To save her from falling in the hands of the devious monster. To protect her from the claws of the harmful predator.
No door, no wall, no barrier is enough to match the strength of his love. You simply don't mess with the king of the jungle in his own home. It may have been his class, but how dare he forget that this is his SPACE?! She may be his student, but how dare he forget that she is his music?! She may be his want but how dare he forget she is his need?!
How dare he forget that Nandini Murthy is Manik Malhotra's?!
If he can become the flow of fresh air for when she needs to breathe, he can most certainly transform into an uninvited tornado to beat out every breath of life from this culprit that stood so shamelessly in front of him.
"Kuch nahi hua use"
First punch! How dare he even dare to utter that nothing's happened to her?!
Second punch! How dare he even have the guts to follow her out so blatantly and claim to be someone he isn't?!
Third punch! How dare he even state her beautiful name with his filthy tongue?!
"Yeh nandini keh barhe mai hai, you better answer!"
Fourth punch! You touched her. You made her uncomfortable. You caused her uneasiness. You inflicted pain upon her. How dare you?!
Fifth punch! Saved! Otherwise this list was too long. Enough to make him fall breathless. Enough, that no need of a resignation letter would have been required; an ambulance would have been a wiser option to teleport the gasping soul off this premises.
Blinded by insecurities, deafened by selfishness, drowning in inferiority complex. How dare he call his brother a liar?! Burning in his own fire, he's setting ablaze every relationship, every emotion, every spec of humanity that used to once exist in him.
How dare the devil further fuel this brotherly hatred?!
"Dhuv koh kuch nahi hua. Dhruv bhi riyaaz kar raha tha. Phone uska bhi bandh tha"
How dare he manipulate and sacrifice a wounded soul to be used for the fulfilment of personal intentions?!
"Fusion concert cancelled?"
Tears. Fear. Panic. All pay a visit yet again.
"Yes Nandini. Yaan toh tum Manik se door raho...aur music seekho. Yaan phir yeh fusion concert nahi hoga"
How. Appallingly. Dare. He?!
She's not a puppet. It's not a game.
How can she possibly practice without her focus? How can she riyaaz without her confidence? How does he expect her to sing without any music? How can he even think for her to perform without any hope? How dare he even demand for her to breathe without a heartbeat?
Manik. Her focus. Her confidence. Her music. Her hope. Her heartbeat.
An impossible call.
"Sir hum...Hum Maanik aur Nandini koh ek dusre she milne bhi nahi denge."
Wait wait wait! How dare...she?
"What?!"
What are you saying? What are you thinking? What is this rubbish? What kind of an irrational promise is this? What kind of an idiotic plan are you sewing?
His fury eating away the mind's capability to think. His wrath engulfing every suggestion being thrown his way. His rage refusing to trust any plan being brewed by a friend.
Every thought, every emotion, every sentiment repeatedly screaming; How dare they all?!
And now even she seems to be silencing his screams. She seems to be siding with the alleged opposition army. She's holding him back from fighting for her. For himself. For them.
Disbelief. Shock. Astonishment. The dilated pupils say it all. He must be made to want it all.
"Forget it!"
Nyonika.
How. Expectedly. Dare She?!
She belongs to the same kind as him. If he's the demon, she's the witch.
She's been disowned by this society. Repudiated by her own son. Taking in return of giving is her hobby. And evil is her religion.
She's given him his share. And now she demands her own.
"Nandini ka future maine appke haaton main dehdiya hai. She's all yours. Uske saath joh karna hai ki jiye. Just make her better."
How dare she?!
Sickening. Revolting. Loathsome.
How dare she hand her to him as if she is some piece of commodity?! How dare she adjoin a word like use when the conversation is about a living being?! How dare she joke about the innocence of a girl being a woman herself?!
Her luck today is favourable. The rampage of her son hasn't confronted her dirty games. But this victory is short-lived.
Their fights for each other continue. He had stormed from the scene alone. It's meaningless to except for him to be have calmed down without her presence.
"I can't believe it! I can't believe tum mujhe kuch aisa bol sakti ho. Arrey tumhe ho kya gaya hai?"
She's not making any sense to me. How dare she even think I'll be able to live without seeing her?
"Manik toh mai aur kisko boloongi?"
He's not in any state to listen to me. To understand my point of view. How dare he even consider that it'll be easy for me to survive through a day without a sight of him?
"You forgot when I came in. Tumhari haalat dekhi thi?"
She's not getting it is she? Even amidst all my shouting she doesn't seem to be hearing a thing. How dare she believe that I can let go of this whole matter so easily. It's about her!
"Manik...your temper is rising"
Uhhh...calming down doesn't seem to be an option right now. How dare he put himself in danger all over again? This anger...his anger will be the doom of him, how dare he not understand?!
"Of course! Mujhe toh us din ka intezaar karna chahiye na, when he'll cross that line! You think I'll wait for that." Alright. That's it! I give up on her! She can dare to think whatever she likes, feel whatever she wants to feel.
"Ohh enough Nandini!"
"Ohh enough Manik!"
Silence.
Shouting...ceased. Faces...turned. Eyes...diverted.
But nobody is allowed to leave. Distances can't originate again. Sights of each can't be lost now.
For tomorrow she has already enforced a separation upon him, so in the present he wants to absorb every inch of her in order to be able to survive tomorrow.
She's held back.
The mind is now calm, but numb. The fire in the heart now extinguished, but it's weeping. How dare you Nandini? How dare you accept this forced separation? How will I be able to breathe tomorrow? I could've lost you today. You were almost out of breath. But what about me? Even amidst open air, I'll be suffocating, choking, gasping to survive. Even with my eyes wide open, there will be nothing to focus on, just a blur of colour. Even with a beating heart, no senses will be functioning.
She embraces him.
She knows his need of her right now. His fear is returning and she knows only she can blow it away. How dare you Manik? How dare you let your anger control you? The pain, the danger, the risk; you don't care about anything do you? Have you ever thought about what I go through witnessing you playing with your life in front of my eyes? Why do you seem to forget every time that my heartbeat depends on your life? When this fire of rage engulfs you in its blazes, my heart fears its biggest terrors. God forbid if anything ever happens to you, my heartbeat will beat its last echo too.
Promises were exchanged once again. Deals were sealed one more time. Only to keep the each other protected. Only to keep their hope safeguarded. Only to never separate again after this fusion concert. Only to remain each other's forever!
Okies...here i am. Love the analysis today. Especially where you voice Manik and Nandini's internal thoughts, their inner turmoil today..it was perfection. seriously.
Lets start with Dhruv, been a couple of days i haven't discussed him much. Dhruv. Quite the contradiction this man is. Is Manik suffocating him with all the love and care ? Or is Manik not giving him the priority he deserves in his life ? Which one is it, Dhruv ? Please pick one and stick with it. Goes to show how misplaced his accusations are to begin with. But now is the time. Manik doesn't have the time to soothe his feathers right now. His Nandini, she is priority right now. She is his entire world right now. He has to see her safe and sound before he can breathe again.
Calm. His calm. His calm is missing and he must find it, find her. Restlessness has left him agitated. Fear is crawling all over, gripping his heart the tightest. His eyes are desperate for a fill of her. Where ? Where is she ? Like a man on a mission, he will search every corner to the world to find his calm. There is no power in the world that can stop him. Like you said, no barrier is strong enough to keep Manik from his Nandini. And when he sees her, his heart stops. Engulfed in smoke, she falls limp in his arms. And memories, the memories of losing her, the memories of finding her in such a state. They are all back.
Someone has hurt his Nandini. Now that someone must pay. Here at this point i can fangirl and say that i abolsutely loved it when Manik punched Pandit. I had warned the older generation guy that he was about to get his ass kicked literally if he didn't mind his way and he didn't listen. The beating was hardly a beating, Manik should have beat him black and blue. And an man who has to hide behind another man is not a man ! since when does Dhruv find other people's battle ? And that manipulative Pandit, he twisted Nandini's arm and dangled the fusion concert like a carrot. The poor girl, so torn she was. Pandit is a smart man, he knows how to play his game. And he has played it well. And the evil Nyionka, she just disgusts me. how can one woman be so cruel ? It's no wonder her son can't find it in his heart to forgive her.
The world against them ! Her fear, it's what she has feared last night and he had reassured her. it's them against the world and today the world is intent on tearing them apart. An enforced seperation. The world is denying Manik Maltorta the very oxygen he breathes, denying him the sight of her beautiful, denying him the touch that gives him life. The world is denying Manik his Nandini. And he is livid ! He is the ruler of his world. He makes his own rules. He breaks rules. No one tells Manik Maltorta what he can't do, he will prove you wrong. no one dictates his life. He has given the right to only one person and even she, his Nandini is listening to the word, agreeing to stay away from him. How will he live ? how can she think he will live, be alive without her ?
They will fight. For each other. They will fight each other, fight to protect their love, their hope. He will fight her, fight the world to protect her from any harm. She will fight him, to protect him from the world, the world that accuses him . And she will fight, to protect him from himself. His anger, it has consumed him today, she must bring him back. And no walking away anymore, no walking away when they are fighting. Too often they have walked away before sorting their problems.
Her touch. It's magic, it soothes him. His arms come around her but his eyes, his eyes are vacant today. The worries, the fear, they won't leave him, even her touch can't seem to bring him back. Her grip, it's so strong on him but he isn't there with her. Her eyes, his eyes, they finally meet so now can he return to her ? Her please, her plea for their hope and he finds his way back to her. My beautiful moment would probably be when he closes his eyes, and you can see him trying to be Nandini's Manik again. I felt he had gone off to another place for a bit but when he opens his eyes again and focuses on her..at that moment, he was back. ( maybe i didn't understand the scene properly but that's how i perceived it as a viewer)
This response is so poorly written i shouldn't even be posting it..lol. I shouldn't attempted it when my brain is half dead but i wanted to get it done before the next epi.
Your words were flawless as always. Loved it all.
