" Dad...no... hehehe...he..he, dad stop tickling me". I said giggling. It was my 10^th birthday and like every birthday of mine this year also he came with mom and Mimi in my room in the morning and started tickling me. Due to my giggling my sister woke up with a grunted sound.

"Guys again...is it already her birthday...aghhh...", but I just jumped on her and hugged her tightly...making her fall on the bed again with me.

" Yes!!... It's my birthday and I love my birthday, but why did you say already. I don't celebrate it every day." I said making an innocent face.

"No, of course not, you don't celebrate it every day but you do celebrate every day of your birthday month, by the way Happy Birthday." She said hugging me back and making a silly expression. And they all four laughed aloud. I just made a fake angry expression and went to my dad.

"Dad!!!!... at least you are not supposed to laugh." I said rolling my eyes, "and where is my gift, and don't forget what I asked for. Ok!!.."

" Ok!! My baby doll and sorry for laughing," he smiled and scooped me in his arms. "Let's go to see your gift." He started walking. I just wrapped my hands around his neck happily.

"We are also present here, allow me to also wish my daughter and please put her down and let her cut the cake." My mom said to dad making her tone edge towards anger.

" Shit! Sorry, I totally forgot". He said holding his ears.

I jumped from his lap and went to hug my mother and Mimi. They both hugged me and wished me simultaneously. My mom was holding a tray in which a home made choco-truffle was present, Mimi gifted me doll. This was a custom followed by all three of them, my dad waking me up by tickling, my mom bringing my favourite cake which she makes by herself and me cutting it and Mimi giving me a doll; on my every birthday. They sang happy birthday song while I was cutting the cake and after feeding them, I turned to dad and said now let's go to my gift but my dad said its little bit far, so I have to go and change and then come downstairs, everyone will be waiting downstairs only.

Me and my sister ran to the bathroom and got ready very quickly. We rushed downstairs and saw everyone was ready as if we are going somewhere. So I asked my dad- "are we going somewhere dad?"

" Yes". He replied.

" But where and where is my gift, you promised me?" I said making a pouty face.

"Have patience doll, we are going to your gift only, but for reaching there we have to travel a little bit, understood!!" he said smiling.

" Ohh...so my gift is a big gift, that's why we have to travel." Okay lets go. I held his finger and dragged him with me to the car. We all then reached the airport, there we went to the private plane's area.

" Sir, your flight is ready. Please come this way." An attendant came and said to my dad. I was jumping in excitement and everyone was just smiling at me. We boarded the flight and I ran and sat on my favourite seat with my doll.

"That's my seat Nandini!" my sister exclaimed.

"No, it's not, it's mine".

" Nandini, just get up." My sister started pulling my hand.

But I just grasped the arm rest of the seat and said " I will not move from here."

" And here it's already started." My mom said exasperatingly and took her seat. My grandma just smiled along with my dad

The flight landed at some kind of an island as I can see from the plane that the place was surrounded with water, also a car was already there waiting for us, I ran to the car and jumped inside it. Everyone followed me slowly so I shouted at them to come quickly. Everyone just rolled their eyes and came in the car. The car started as we had yet not reached the place... Arghh...the suspense was killing me... the place was beautiful, it had mountains at one side of the road and the other side there was a long stretch of fields. There were few houses across the fields. But we came and stopped in front of a small wooden gate.

" Are we here dad?" I asked my dad rather impatiently.

" Yes, we are." He said

I opened the car gate and ran in front of the gate and waited for my dad to come and open it. My dad came and opened the gate and again I ran inside, there in the middle of a green field was a beautiful house, from one end of the house a small bridge was arising which was having a lake at its end. I stopped in front of the house gate, at the side of the gate on a beautiful placard was written " DOLL'S HOME". I opened the gate and saw the house was too big for my doll so I asked my dad

" Dad, isn't it too big for my dolls?"

" No, there is nothing in the whole world which will be too big for your "DOLLS", my sister exclaimed and came forward.

" oh...but this lake house is for my doll, you only asked for a doll house ... so here it is. How is it? Did you like it? This is your 10^th birthday present .." my dad asked me hopefully.

" Ummm... But dad I asked a doll house for my dolls and not for me..Duhh.." I said.

" aren't you happy?" my dad again asked

" Of course I am dad, but you didn't understand, now where will I keep my dolls, they wanted a house." My mom came forward at that time and knelt down and said "Come I will show you your room, I'm sure you'll like it"

So I walked hand in hand with her to my room. As I opened my door I saw a big pink room at the corner of which, there was this big purple coloured doll house in which all my collections of dolls was present. I screamed in happiness and ran closed to it to see it, some dolls were new and I added the doll which I was holding in my hand which Mimi gave me in the morning as my present. My mom just laughed and told me that dad himself had built this house. I was so happy that I ran to my dad and jumped upon him and pecked him. He just laughed and told me I always give my doll what she asks for and that there is not a single thing in this world that he will not give me. I think if someday I will ask for moon, then he will go to NASA demanding moon.. lol...

Suddenly I heard a faint murmuring in the background, there were lots of voices coming at the same time now.

"Why is she crying?" My mom voice came in a desperate tone.

" Why is she not waking up?" My sister asked someone I guess.

"Its okay Shayna, don't worry she will be fine. She is a strong girl." That's strange it was Ryan's voice; wasn't he in New York, what was he doing here, he was supposed to come after one month for their marriage. What was he doing here in my lake house... my haven; at my 10^th birthday, he was not even present there.

" Miss Arora!!!! Can you hear me?" someone asked me this. Who was he? Where am i ? Why is there so much of noises and where is my dad just now I was hugging him joyfully. Why won't my eyes open? Was I dreaming? No it can't be... Noo... no...

"Nandini... baby can you hear me... please my baby open your eyes." My mom said crying. Why was she crying and why can't I open my eyes? I tried to open my eyes so that I can tell mom that I am fine, and she doesn't need to worry, but it was as if I was getting pulled in some sort of darkness...and slowly everything faded and darkness again overtook me.
