Their hands. The first contact was that of their hands when he saved her fireflies. And they have had many more since then.

I will mention some of my personal favourites, not in any order, just typing them up as I remember them...

Post Musicana. When they are both leaning against the wall and their hands make contact unintentionally. And she withdraws her hand on realising the touch and that makes him ask her whether she needs a break. Such a beautiful scene.

The time when we were more concerned for his hand then he was. LOL. Harshad's drama room fiasco time. The scene where they are under the table and she holds his hand, caresses it and he smiles, thinking she is finally going to accept the apology but she was making a promise to herself to protect him and his hand.

I Loved the drunk Nandu scene. When she is on the other side of the glass, her hand resting on the glass, and he goes to her to talk about feelings and what was wrong and he places his hand right on top of hers. Such a beautiful moment.

The time when she takes him to the hospital, all the while remembering all their moments which involved his hands. And she cries. Such an emotional scene.

I Love the staircase scene. The one after he fought with Harshad because he thought it was Harshad who attacked Nandini when it was actually Soha. She staelthily goes near him but he senses her and pulls her closer to himslef and entwines their hands. It is such a beautiful scene! And she looks at his hand, seeing the thread marks and all the while they are there their hands are entwined.

Of the most recent, I Love Friday's scene. He was gazing at the stars
and she reaches out for his hand and his fingers react instantly by curling and then he holds her hand. It is such a beautiful moment!

I Love the date one too. When she stands up to go but he holds her hand, stopping her and then leaves her hand slowly while she is trying to hold tight, even to his smallest finger...

Would the icecream one be counted as one? It was such a beautiful scene. Where she offers him icecream and he licks the one off her finger with that look in his eyes. That love...

Many others, will continue posting them as I remember:):)
Amazing post!!!:):)<3

Thank you so much, Sara. So many new scenes to remember. And yes, do post more. :)
I had totally forgotten about that date scene, thank you for mentioning it. In fact even when he asks her out, I loved how casually he just grabbed her hand while cajoling her to say yes. So coupley. <3
And yes, the hospital one where she remembers just how precious his hands are, what his touch means to her. That definitely was a very emotional scene.
Ice-cream deserves a post of its own. The eyes, the fingers, the mouth. Lol. Too many thngs to look at. 😆

@bold: I was wondering why no one had brought that one up, and was all set to gush over it alone. That one is so lovely. The part you described, and even before that, when she sits down next to him, and gently checks his hand, and immediately knows from the marks that he'd been in a fight. & then of course he denies it, but later grabs her hand and entwines their fingers, because, you know, friends are totally allowed to hold hands. 😆 Cuteness. <3
In fact that friendship phase had so many casual hand-holds, it was a very subtle, nice way to depict that happy phase of their relationship. And then of course there were those 'tie' bracelets- sigh, I miss babies being happy.

P.S- Do read all the awesome replies when you have time. You'll definitely enjoy it. :)

The post is too beautiful to let it go...Thanks a ton cos this has been an underlying parallel theme which we tend to enjoy but are caught up generally in the plot, characters and the brilliance of the scene overall etc.
The first touch was when he saved the fireflies. At the time she did not know him. But she recognizes and remembers that touch on their first date when she quizzes him on whether he was on that highway on that eventful day! She then believes it is true love (she is yet to confess to him about the real importance of the fireflies and I am waiting for that!)

The storeroom scene, the handshake when they become partners, the holding of hands on the staircase when they are "friends", the diwali scene, the third break scene etc.beautifully described by all.

The courtroom scene when he detaches his hand from hers, and she tries to hold on to his last finger...that was poignant. She realizes her mistake that very instance!

But here I would like to dwell a bit on the holding of hands after the break up. It is like a mirror to her about what he is feeling. It is as if she tests the waters by trying to touch his hand!

He hurts his hand and she takes out the pieces of glass. When they meet in the sick room she touches his hand he jerks it away, when she touches it again he asks her what she wants.

The time when they meet in the hospital when she goes to see Abhi and after a momentary lapse he jerks his hand and then rescues her from falling!

Then the latest scene where she surprises him and touches his hand and he lets her and then says it does hurt now. This was so classic! it was such a beautiful scene. (The cvs were giving us a treat after the insipid senseless merger episodes! )

There are so many I could go on and on. I could not describe these as well as you all have. But these are instant memories but your post makes me want to go back and see them all 😊 In fact a post could be made on each and every one of them!!!!!!! Thanks once again!!!!! 😊

I'm so glad to hear this got you onboard the MaNan ship again.
Jungle scene. Hahaha. Manik just loves to contradict himself when it comes to Nandini, doesn't he? Gadha hai par pyaara hai. 😆

Iv recently started watching this show and yesterday was the first time i visited this forum and must say was very happy for this to be my first read here...Iv always connected with their hands, like always...the one in ur dp happens to be my favorite, that scene is an addiction...i also really liked the court moment when she was desperate to hold on to his hand while he was drifting away, hw shw tried holding on to the last finger like she was holding on to hope...beautiful it was...

Apart from these all the ones mentioned here are amazing... Hands are a beautiful way to stay connected... That touch is enough to reignite the hope...

Lovely post again

Aww, thank you so much for that lovely comment. & welcome to the forum. :)
Their hands were depicted so poignantly in that courtroom scene- no words were said yet his pain and her fear were so palpable. But like you said, that touch is enough to re-ignite the hope, and that's what makes this love story worth it. :)

WOW !!!
Vidya sorry for replying late... was busy...

I remember one Moment after the date Manik comes to drop her home... Chachi opens the door... Nandhu blocks the door to hide Manik... and when she is closing the door... she says bye to him only with her fingers... and Manik attempts to catch hold of them... though he just missed to do it...
Seeing that scene when he misses to catch those fingers felt so sorry for him even though they had literally spent so much time together that night... but the last bye of her fingers with his fingers meant so much to him and us...

Not quoting the gifs but that scene is...sigh. Manik's elated expression, especially. He looks like a little boy who's just so happy that the girl he likes secretly likes him too. Baba's eyes be shining with victory, and that little smile on his face while she's caressing his hands. Awww.
and then she goes and writes a big fat NO on that very hand. Awlee. Poor Baba. 🥺
But to give the boy credit, he actually tried to rub off that 'No' later. Hahaha. Manik really is such a cutie-pie. 😆

Go gif that first scene! And then post here, of course. 😆
Not a technical person but I always thought that scene had really beautiful lighting.

That lingering touch. Exactly. You said it so perfectly. They don't need to hold hands, it's the way their fingers seem so reluctant to leave the other's skin. It's just so much love- tells you everything about them.

@bold: So much word.

And you are awesome, Anu. I mean it from the bottom of my shallow fangirl heart. Thank you for those beautiful moving pictures. 🤗

@blue: Word...their fingers convey their yearning for each other...speaking a whole language of their own :-)

Aww you are very welcome about the moving pictures, Vidya🤗

LOL I couldn't get around to any gif-ing yesterday...I shall try making up for it today :P

You are very right about the lighting for the first firefly scene being lovely...the play of light on Nandu's face, the glow of the fireflies and Manik's face hidden in the dark shadows...all made for epic visuals.

Hey thanks for that wonderful comment. All these parallels you drew, and connected them so well.
Fireflies- yess. That first touch, and how beautifully it was used in the date scene for Nandini's realisation that it had always been him. That the true love her mother had told her about did exist. I think the Musicana sequence would link in here too- the one after their kiss where he catches a firefly for her and then puts it into her cupped palms, and when she opens them, it flies away while they both watch it happily, hands still in each other's . (I so wish I had some visuals for this scene because it was so beautiful. 🤔)
@bold: Progress, isn't it? You put it so well- it's like she's testing the waters, giving him time, asking him if the pain's lesser now. And while he might not always be able to express it in words, his hands will never lie. And she knows it too. And that stargazing scene when he finally felt safe enough to admit that yes, he hwas healing, he was no longer angry, and his hands were the first to express that, just by curling into hers when she touched it, no more shoving it away. So much love. <3
Go back and watch them all, it's what started this madness in the first place. Glad you liked it. 😊
