Many of us have often wondered what kind of a person Manik really is...how can we define him?
Do we actually can?
I don't think so.
Manik is an exceptionally complex person filled with many emotions which he himself doesn't acknowledge. He unconsciously loses control over all his emotions and tries to be strong headed with those out bursts, but in reality he actually cannot deal with so many emotions at once. But on a sad note, life has thrown upon him so many things to deal with all at once. Life hasn't given him much space for anything, it has just been overloading him with burdens every second. Manik is a kid at heart who had been lost somewhere in the depths of tragedy a long time ago for reasons which are yet to be known by us. He had been deprived of the much needed love and care a long time ago. Those feelings appear alien to him. But he found a solution in the form of his friends as that was how he could experience those feelings by at least showing them to his friends. But the lack of these feelings at the right time made him arrogant and stubborn. The lack of these feelings also instilled one other feeling in him strongly-----anger. That was the only feeling he knew so well like the back of his hand which he used as a weapon to never ever come across any feelings of sorrow or misery which he might have experienced earlier. He never felt protected so he took the responsibility of protecting his friends on his shoulders entirely, he became ready to over bear anything just for the sake of his friends as that's where he found solace. He became their fighter as no body fought for him before and this was the only way he could experience this feeling as well. And though he had everything now with him there was a certain place in him which was still trembling like a child. He wanted to overcome this as well so he became a prankster but not a soulless ruthless prankster, there was fore sight in his every step of being a prankster, he harmed people by saving them at the same time. He never cared about being wrong or harming anyone because he thought they deserve it as he too once experienced all of these and might be only these. He became the ultimate dictator and possessor of everything and/or everyone around him. He started believing that he had no soft side in him which made him a 'monster', the only side of Manik people outside Fab5 knew. Apart from these he is the most bankable, trustable, faithful, non-judgemental and helpful friend anyone could find in this world. Not to forget, he had the most beautiful voice and even more beautiful looks in the whole of S.P.A.C.E. which made him the ruler. But there were so many unexplored sides of Manik not explored even by his friends. They did not come into prominence for a very very long time. These sides remained a conundrum to not only Fab4 but to Manik himself. He never have a thought of these feelings existed at all so he never bothered about finding them. But fate proves him foolish. It told him that he is not as smart as he thought he was, in fact he was the smart-not-so-smart guy. He belonged to the obsessive category. He became a monkey directly from a monster even without his knowledge just like as if some magic had been spun on him. The name of this magical obsession was Nandini Murthy. She was the one who showed Manik different shades in himself which he thought never existed. They were:
Pure love
Jealousy
Lover boy
Suffer-in-yourself-er
Sacrificer
Possessor
She also made him realize that he actually does not think before acting. She gave him light in his world full of darkness, she showed him a reason to smile, to be happy. She made him understand the meaning of pure and selfless love. She called him time and again. He realized that he found his life's salvation in her. Even though he had to sacrifice her once, he realized that only have pain to both of them and put them through hell. He then became the peace maker and became ready to do anything just for the sake of his love back and to see her happy. He also took a secret self oath that he would never again let go of his love. Nandini not only put all these things out in him but after everything was in place between them, she brought out another angle in Manik. The cute and desperate angle. This was the most adorable side of Manik which he never before explored. But this was often overshadowed by his protectiveness towards her or fab5 in general. But soon did all of these qualities leave him and made him bereft. But how can he actually know that he's the most loved person when he had only a glimpse of what love is! And how can he possibly bear that loss from the person who taught him about love! He was miserable, he was vulnerable, he was again that kid who always saw darkness in everything. He now became more child like with all his actions. The capacity to think and analyze things left him when he heard the impossible from the most important person in his life. He turned against her, he revolted towards her judgment, did not see reason, just went on with the frustration he has had inside himself with the flow because he knew not what to do, he didn't have his shining star to guide him now and he also knew that he could go no where without her Which was why he held back on her thinking he'll take revenge but when the actual truth is that by taking revenge on her, he knows that he'll be taking more revenge on himself than on her because according to him, she now is a part of and he of her and nothing can separate them. But his anger foreshadowed any reason and made him believe in the abstract and made him to let his love drink vinegar. But his compassionate self was not far behind which made him drink that vinegar too! His caring personality came back when he brought his love all those ice creams and that lover came back when he ate the same ice cream from his love's hand. He again proved that he cannot stay away from her by joining the pandits class during which his eyes showed the hope within him. The hope that his shining star, though once failed in protecting properly will not fail this time but rather, will come out with flying colors, soaring high of her victory by bringing back the Manik Malhotra whom she discovered!
