Isn't that what this is all about?? Vinegar...a natural acidic substance!! And Monster Manik Malhotra is just trying to drown acid with acid. Something like poison kills poison!! Have to hand it to the cvs for gifting us one of the most insightful and analytical scene about Manik's psyche, his state of mind and heart...
Remarkable for me the fact that he gulped it all down...but what can you expect from a guy who has spent all his life swallowing the sour acid of rejection and manipulation!! Acids in life don't bother him any more...he can swallow n digest anything, he has so much churning and burning inside him..a few more drinks will not kill him, actually not even dent his stone lined interiors. The only thing that did and could still affect him is ...love. Anything toxic, and he can take it...what he can't take is something else. The rest of the world will never guess what is in his glass...not his best friends...may be only his lady love...he never will grant them a glimpse cause that's the way he is...he keeps his acids to himself...they are his secret elixir...his high!! So when he gulps it down, no knows...no one to sympathize with him, pat his back, offer him cold milk, ask him to lie down..or to fuss over him...and he prefers it this way!! His poker face will never betray his insides...not even to those who claim to know him like the back of their hands...the fire within...stays within...
Nandini...she did gulp it down for him...didn't she!! And that's the way love is Nandini!! It's not the sweet strawberries n cream or the tangy chatpata chaats...not always. With a guy as burnt on the insides as Manik..you will have to take the sour with the sweet...that's just Manik. Remember your idyllic dream world notions of love...little girl ones...love is sweet...its gentle...it brings out the best in each other...snap out of them!! Cause you were too little to understand your parents love at that time...what seemed ideal to your innocent eyes and little mind...would not have been the case. Cause once again...love is never uni dimensional...never limited to just one shade...let's not insult love ...its just not chocolates, n hearts n roses n candlelight dinners n gifts...that's the commercial aspect of love...lets deal with the reality of it...it can kill too!!
And you should thank this man in front of you for gradually making you realize that life is not all roses...or may be it is but with thorns too. He is basically tutoring you, training you cause if you want to spend your whole life with the likes of Manik and more importantly with the likes of Nyonika and her super rich bitch world...you will have to learn how to swallow...the acid!! The bile!! He is welcoming you in his world...the world he has festered in for so long...the world of hypocrisy...where people pretend to gulp down fancy drinks...while all the time they are all gulping down the acids their exclusive world throws at them!!
You might get tired of his harshness one day and break down, snap in two and yell at him, shout at him for his cruelty in putting you through this, for his monstrosity...but remember no where in the world will you find a man who will gulp down this poison with you!! Without a frown on his face, without a cough on his breath...without letting you know that he suffers double of what you suffer...yes...double ...the agony of the vinegar and the guilt of making you suffer. If anything he finished his first glass before yours!! He feels your burn more than you, he feels your coughs...that stops his breathing...he sees your gasps..and he struggles for air!! He left...cause he had to whip himself for causing you pain...the soul just does not show the angry welts..you see!! Or his soul would be bleeding all over the place!!
He is trying to break you!! You failed a test, the most important one, of trust!! And he let you and the world know that he has given up on you!! Really...is that so?? Then why put you through this?? Cause this is all a test too...and that is what this man is going to do now..test you!! At every step, at every bend n turn...test you if you would stick with him through thick n thin, through tears n tantrums, if you will still love him at his worst, if you will bear the pain along with the pleasure!! Test your loyalty, your forbearance, your love!! He has not given up on you Nandini, he still has faith in your claims...and that's why he is putting you through this, giving you chances again and again to prove your love, your blind, unconditional, love!! He is so desperate for you to pass...to reclaim your grades...he cannot accept your failure..more so than you!! Remember as kids we used to do the litmus test...with acid and base...today marked your acidic test...the litmus test of your love...and you passed it with flying colors!!
For those who question his means, his love, his putting Nandini through these tortures...all I can say is you don't know an inch of Manik Malhotra. You will never understand his love, or his hunger for it!! Let's just put it this way...Nandini treasure shis love and you think she should show some spine and refuse to go along with this...right?? Yes...she values his love...but wasn't she surrounded by this all her life?? Tender, loving care, consideration...she had it all from her family!! She has enjoyed it all and yet she puts it above all. Now lets look at a guy who never had any...not even a drop of love in his barren life...not even a glimpse of it in his stark landscape...and now do you understand what love means to a deprived soul like him?? Can you even fathom how this soul would perceive love, its value, its preciousness, its worth to a dying man?? What love and Nandini means to this monster...we cannot even imagine...and Nandini...I just hope one day she understands how much she and her presence and her sweetness means to her monster!! She is getting there...trust me..what she has learnt about this burnt man in the past two days...she never did in the months of happiness she spent with him...
Its all about acid...a natural acid like vinegar...the acid that has been not spoon fed but bottle fed to Manik since the day he was born...and now Nandini is learning to cope with it. Let him play with these ...let him test her time n again...cause this it the only way this poison will eventually drain out of his system. Don't judge him...please don't ...if anything his acid should burn our souls...like it does Nandini's...
