Every story needs one...every saga desires one...good or bad!!
And today MaNan finally got a closure to their story too. Till now I firmly believed that MaNan could not say goodbye...but today...!! The realization dawned that Manik and Nandini cannot be together!! They will have to say good bye, tie the loose ends and walk away!!
The reason...what Nandini clearly deciphered today ...sometimes sorry is just not enough!! Kuchch galtiyon ki maafi nahin hoti!! Finally she knows, she understands, what her man stands for!! What he is made of...a glimpse of the scars, a peek at the darkness that has surrounded him all his life. Now she understands why this man values absolute and unconditional trust so much. Now she fully grasps his anger, his disappointment, his raw pain...and the moment she measures the depth of his despair...she knows that there is no turning back, no forgiveness for her sin. The moment of absolute and un doctored truth...what is done cannot be undone!! Manik loves her...undoubtedly...like no man would ever be able to love her in her life...but can't forgive her...no..it's not won't forgive her...it's can't forgive her!!
It's actually break time!! They cannot be together when every time he looks at her his heart screams why...why did you do this to us?? Every time he faces her...his heart breaks with why couldn't she trust him enough?? And with so much of raw baggage, how can a relationship be sustained...how can they survive when they are dragging around the corpse of their dead trust???She was the one right in his life, till she decided to join hands with the biggest wrong...leaving him wronged forever!!
They can't be together...no...not this Manik, this hurt, broken, shattered, lost Manik and not this Nandini...this ashamed, guilty, wrong and pleading Nandini...with their trust gone, their faith shaken, the foundations cracked...
So...are MaNan destined to fail?? Nope...they will now have to wipe the slate clean. They cannot continue...so will have to stop and start totally afresh. This time sorry was not enough...but now when they get together...a thank you will not suffice!! The pain has to be left behind...and the joy has to be rediscovered!! Sometimes mending glass is never an option, the cracks will always be visible...its just easier to look through another pane altogether...with a fresh new perspective. Manik and Nandini need to fall in love...all over again...
Manik will have to let this Nandini go and then down the road, when they again, meet, clash, fight, befriend each other...will slowly and gradually and irrevocably learn to fall in love all over again!! He will be taught how to admire her, adore her, respect her and trust her one more time...and this time he will not make the same mistake again!! This time he will love her as she is, a flawed human and not a demi goddess placed on a pedestal, who cannot ever err or make mistakes. He will accept her with all her flaws and weaknesses...He will learn that trust is never absolute, faith is never free. Manik will learn that Alya was actually right ...love is incomplete without forgiveness too!! This Nandini was not perfect, but his new Nandini will be perfect for him...
And Nandini...as painful as it is...will have to let him walk away, only so he could return back to her!! She will fall in love again with a guy she had not seen before, a guy who has such a strong moral character, a man with convictions stronger than mountains, a man with such pure beliefs and blind love that she will feel blessed every moment of her life. She will find a new man, whose hidden depths will never cease to amaze her every moment she spends with him...a new found respect for a man worthy of her and much more!! She loved him...now she will learn to honor and respect him too...and of course will learn that trust is not only falling blindly in the hopes the your partner catches you...it is also walking side by side with him through thick and thin with eyes wide open!!
Yes...they needed this closure!! Cause this love story needs to be rewritten, re enacted, re phrased... with more passion, more fervor, more understanding...and definitely more trust!!
All I can hum right now is...Chalo Ek Baar Phir se Ajnabi Ban Jaay Hum Dono...
