He had told Dhruv he wold be late for the party as he had some meeting. He is a big shot record label owner now, Manik Malhotra. He had to give up his dream to be a singer and a guitar player. Sitting in the meeting, talking to Riya Rao, an upcoming music sensation, Manik could not help but feel the ache of not being one himself. 'If only that incident had not happened', he thinks and immediately shudders the thought away. He hated to think about it. He saw Navya Naveli, the weird gaon ki ladki walking up to him in his office. The incident had changed her life too and he had helped her. Now she worked as a PA to Manik.
"We are getting late for Mr. Vedant's party, Mr. Malhotra", she said to a daydreaming Manik who had told her to use the formal tone with him in the office. "Yeah, you're right. Mr. Joshi, finalize the contract and we'll meet Ms Rao tomorrow. And tell Roy to take the car out."
He was still the same. He still had the command and authority over his people. Only Nandini was able to melt him. She was the only person who had seen the caring and soft Manik. Thinking about her, he cheerfully hurried down stairs. He would finally get to meet Nandini. Nandini Murthy, the love of his life. It seemed like eons now since he had last seen her. The thought about Nandini made him forget about everything and he rushed to his convertible, jumped in and hurried away to Dhruv's house. In his excitement, he totally forgot about Navya. She was left dazed while he sped away.
