"Everyone had a forever, but given a choice, this would be mine. The one that begin in this moment...that took my breath away, then gave it back- leaving me astounded, amazed, and most of all, alive."
This.
This moment.
She doesn't know whether to smile or to cry. She doesn't even know whether she is alive or not. She doesn't know what she feels anymore.
One moment she feels like she's become a million times stronger. Nothing can bend her, nothing can break her.
And then in the next she feels like her heart would stop breathing, it would burst into million pieces...she feels like she would just melt right then right there and there's no stopping to that. She's never felt so alive till now and yet she feels like she would just die.
...No, she wouldn't die. She can't die. She is the star.
She is somebody's star.
She is his star.
Yes, she is his star.
She is the star, who shows him light, that helps him find his way even in the darkest of nights.
She had started shining for him long ago, even when she didn't know, even when he didn't know. She shined for him when he had asked her to; she shined for him even after he had left her in the darkness, without her fireflies. How can she not shine now? When he has bared himself to her? When he has voiced such vulnerability to her? When he has shown such raw trust, how can she not shine for him? How can she not shine when he says she is his protector?
She will shine for him.
She will protect him.
She will protect him now; she will protect him as long as she lives. Even when she dies, she will die protecting him, enlightening him, like a shooting star.
Stupid shooting stars.
Doesn't she hate them?
Why does she want to be one so much then?
She doesn't know. All she knows is he wants her.
He who has never given the thing that makes him stronger than any other thing ever has. He, who has never dared give much of himself to anyone before, just handed the whole of himself to her.
He belongs to her.
God! What is this feeling?
This can't be love. Can it?
She thought love can only give you pain...immense, heart-wrenching pain.
How is it possible for one emotion to have two extreme opposites?
Maybe it's not love. Maybe it's something more. Something human beings have not yet invented a name for.
She doesn't care. She can't help herself. She wants to be wrapped in his arms like this forever.
Every second feels so important.
Gosh...he says he won't choose her.
But he already has.
He has chosen to make her his star. His shining star. His North Star.
With that thought, she hugs him a little tighter, because she just can't have enough of him.
Because she is not going to spoil this moment.
This is her moment.
In his arms.
This is her forever.
