@Hajnal If you actually meant 'fragile' as 'vulnerable'...i.e that Edward makes himself more vulnerable to Bella than Manik makes himself to Nandhini... I agree...
fragile = easily broken or damaged.
vulnerable = susceptible to physical or emotional attack or harm.
They are still different words with different meaning for me. Manik is susceptible to physical or emotional attack or harm. But he won't let anyone, not even Nandini to break him. He is a fighter. Impulsive, aggressive...But a fighter.

Actually... in my POV... opposing someone hurting you and fighting back proves you stronger than hurting the person before he can hurt you ...like Manik does... and which you have implied as strength...
NO. To me, strength is not letting anyone hurt you or the people you love. It means you have to be strong and fight back. That is what Manik does. He feel the need to appears as strong, invincible. So no one will think of hurting him and people he loves.
Manik may have exaggerated in bullying people. But that is what makes him Manik. He is wired that way. That is what life has taught him. That is what he has learn.
He knows he has to protect his people, the people he loves. He has to be in power, so he is powerful enough to defend and protect. He has to be the leader. He has to do what he can to appear as strong as one can be, as powerful as one can be...
He makes SPACE his to reign, his to control, his to own. That is his territory. He has worked and fight back to make it his own, to be in control of it...
He is as strong as a teen can be...That is what makes him Manik...That is what makes him strong to me...
He has his own flaws, his own weakness, his own insecurities. But he doesn't shows that to anyone. He doesn't let them come in the way when it comes to protect his love ones.

Edward never changed home because he was scared... he did so for his family, because people would notice his family not aging and start getting suspicious...also...when the newbloods came he didnt run with Bella... he stood his ground and fought... same with Volturi... even at the risk of dying... he stood his ground... his Loyalty is to his family not some piece of land...
😊
"Land" has different meanings. It doesn't mean just "a piece of land" What I meant was the land one belongs to, has to stay in.
As you said, Edward belongs with his family, and he doesn't have to stay. He doesn't need to make a place for himself in the society he is in.
The knowledge that he isn't there to stay makes him, them not connect to the the people, to the things, to anything. He is disconnected, aloof, and uninterested to everything around him, to people around him. The sec school finishes, he can be what he is. No more "acting".
The fact that he, they doesn't want to be noticed, makes them act passive to whatever is happening around them. He doesn't have to appear nothing more than just human. He doesn't have to pretend to be nothing more than human.
"Sometimes I wish I could sleep" these were the first words, the first line of "midnight sun". He says that because he so damn bored with the life of teen he has to live, again and again, year after year...
I know Edward, I know the story, all of it. All the whys and hows. You don't have to repeat it. I am offending him. Don't be so defencive to take everything I say about Manik as an offence to Edward. It isn't my intend. 😊
P.s...And I apologize if that is what I made you feel like... No hard feeling...🤗
