True that. Then the name was "Master of the universe"...But no, I do not find similarities between Manik and Edward...I have loved Edward when I was in my teens and as I am growing up, I can see how unreal he was...Edward seems an imagination, an almost perfect one but just that, an imagination. He is thinker, selfless, a poet, bored to death, but can't die. PASSIVE (reason for "wooden face" 😆) Almost someone who is living but not alive, hopeless...He himself says in midnight sun that...Till Bella didn't came in his life, his days and nights were the same, years just passing by...While that seems romantic, but as a HUMAN that would be depressing, unreal, as he doesn't have a life beyond Bella. I can't imagine what he would have done if Bella would have chosen Jacob and not him.He is way too passive, way too selfless. He is an old soul trapped in a young body. The truth is that when I look back, Edward, to me, seems fragile...While Manik is anything but that, he is venerable, but isn't fragile. His isn't an easy one to break, he won't let anyone to do that. He has walls around him, his heart guarded. He is fighter, aggressive and impulsive. Has flaws, is an extremist, hate or love, anything he does, feels is limitless...He is dark, complex, arrogant. Manik his own insecurities, but you will never get to know them, only if you are someone who is close to him, very close, you may get a glimpse or two. But that is. He wears the bad guy title as a shining armor. His own words, "Main thori acha hoon, I am not good, I like to be bad."Manik many time has gone out of his way to make sure he appears as a bad guy to others. Does what he feels like, He isn't an easy person to hurt, only some people has that kind of power over him can hurt him. He, has given only a few people that power over him. And even then if they hurt him, he makes sure they regret it. He isn't forgiving nor he forgets. Despite of the fact the he loves unconditionally, forgiving and forgetting is difficult for him to do.He is the best friend to have, Protective and possessive over his people. When he loves someone, they become his to protect. They become his. That is why he is possessive. He will do anything for his people. As they are his, they are Him. He doesn't differentiate him and them. They are one. Every friend of his is important to him, more than himself.Despite of the fact that he is old as they are, He is almost a father figure for his friends. They see him as the parent they don't have, would like to have. Manik is the one who unites them, holds them together, makes them feels belonged. He makes sure they have a parent in him. The one, to whom they can come when they are troubled, need help.He is Mama bear for Dhruv, A father to Mukti...He made sure Cabir knows that he is loved, will always be loved, unconditionally, despite of what he does, is, will be...To Alya he has given his devotion and fidelity, for 7 long years...He is their family...They are family because of him...They all, even Nandini, everyone around him thinks "Manik hai na, woh sab kuch theek kar dega." As if anything is possible for him. Everyone around him look at him as someone who can guide them. He is the LEADER. He has the habit of demand and command. He likes to order around everyone. He makes mistakes, learns from them, grows with time, is in evolution. His best is yet to come. He is a work in progress, a dream in relation...Manik is Unique in his own way. He is REAL...Bas? Itna kafi hai? Ya aur kuch bolon? 😃 lol
Do you know that Christian Grey was just Fan Fiction of Edward...?Actually 50 shades of Grey was Fan Fiction of Twilight..😊
I didn't mean it in a bad way
They both r jealous, rich, possessive and difficult to understand and control
No offense, but I felt that
Hajnal I loved your reply...
If you don't mind I would love to debate it...
If you do mind, I am sorry.. I will stop...
He is way too passive, way too selfless. He is an old soul trapped in a young body. The truth is that when I look back, Edward, to me, seems fragile...
Actually in my view it's the complete opposite... Edward is in no way fragile... a person or in this case a vampire who could sacrifice his Love for her Safety and again do it to give her the choice to follow her heart, which might lead her to another man... Can never be 'Fragile'.
Such Devotion , such selflessness , such compassion is pure STRENGTH... STRENGTH in its purest form...!!!

Manik only looks tough from outside, but he is very 'Fragile' from inside, why did you think he built those walls... From inside he is a Hurt and Scared kid, he is scared of people bullying him, he is scared of losing , he is scared of being alone, he is scared of not being loved , he is scared of abandonment.
His impulsiveness , his anger , his recklessness, his aggressiveness, his arrogance, his violence are all Defensive mechanisms of the internal Hurt and Scared child.
Nandhini called him out perfectly... he is a coconut... Outside he puts up a show being strong... But inside he is Tender and 'Fragile'
Regarding the argument that he can be hurt only by the people he loves... isn't that same with Edward too... he can be hurt only by his Bella or his Family... No one stands a chance other than them.
And Edward too becomes what his Loved ones require of him...
He is a brother to Alice and Emmett, he is a son to Esme and Carlisle, he is a Friend to Jasper and ally to Jacob later.
Manik isn't real too...he is a fictional character like Edward... isn't he... one is a fictional Human and the other fictional Vampire... its only their characteristics that were put up in comparision.
Aur kuch bolo...😆

Thank you.
I don't mind a good debate, but I may take time to answer. And you would have to wait for some hours for the answer for the next one, as I will go to Uni in some hours. Can replay only when I come back...😳

You are right, maybe I should explain what I meant with "fragile"...What I meant with "fragile" is that Edward has given Bella the liberty to hurt him. He has given her the choice, he would have let her pursue what she wanted in case she would have chosen something/someone other than him. He would have let her go, for her own good. Without caring how much he would have been hurt, how much he would have suffered deaths worse than death itself.
While that is what make me admire him more than anything else, It's his selflessness that makes him "fragile" to me. I am not saying that this is the way he is seen by everyone, I am saying only as I see him. As we can see what to me is "fragile", to you its "Strength".

If you actually meant 'fragile' as 'vulnerable'...i.e that Edward makes himself more vulnerable to Bella than Manik makes himself to Nandhini... I agree...😊
True. But again, its the word. As I said, he venerable, not Fragile. Fragile is something easily broken, shattered, or damaged, something delicate. Manik isn't any of that. He is vulnerable only to people who can see past his walls. No one else in his collage would believe you if you tell them he is vulnerable or Fragile. To others, he is hard as a rock and solid as steel.

@bold:- He is scared of people bullying him. And what he does for that? He goes around and bully them. So no one would even think of bullying him. That, that makes him not-Fragile. He isn't easily breakable. He won't back down without a fight. He won't run away, he won't hide.He may scared of all that, but what makes him unique is what he does about that. That Defensive mechanisms of is doesn't let anyone see him as vulnerable, and Fragile. The walls he puts, that doesn't make him vulnerable, not Fragile, to others. The pretense of him owning the grounds he walks on doesn't let anyone doubt that he is hurt inside or that he could have his own demons. He is coconut, but only for the people his love, people who are close to him. His people. To everyone else he is the same Manik Malhotra. Who is just more busy in his life now days and that is why they are spared of his wrath.People around him still start shaking with fear with a just glimpse of his. They still fear him. And that is what not Fragile.Actually... in my POV... opposing someone hurting you and fighting back proves you stronger than hurting the person before he can hurt you ...like Manik does... and which you have implied as strength...Does others, or the world even exist to Edward? He is in move within every 3-4 year, he doesn't belong to a land. People around him doesn't mean anything to him more than noise in his head. He knows wherever he goes that he is there just for a few years. He could care less what happens around him...Manik knows he is there to stay, the land is his to fight for, his to own. He can't run anywhere else, his home and his family is there to stay, so he better fight, he better marks it as his own, that is why he goes around as he own everything, because he does.Edward never changed home because he was scared... he did so for his family, because people would notice his family not aging and start getting suspicious...also...when the newbloods came he didnt run with Bella... he stood his ground and fought... same with Volturi... even at the risk of dying... he stood his ground... his Loyalty is to his family not some piece of land...😊
