"When all these things happen to a girl, uski zindagi se light chali jaati hai. She breaks into pieces. Wo kabhi waise smile hi nahin kar paegi. Wo kabhi kisi aur se pyaar nahin kar paegi..."
When she says that she no longer has trust on herself even, that seemed like a final straw. It was her way of saying, 'I'm done.' A girl who took every step because of her trust and faith, she no longer has faith on the word trust itself. I'm glad, I'm so glad that she said this to Manik himself. With two sentences she blasted all the base of whatever they shared. They wouldn't have shared a thing, not one single moment had Nandini not sensed the light in him and placed all her faith in that light. She kept addressing the light in him, forcing him to bring it out till the point that his light was that remained in him. It had its shadows but shadows exist where light is.
I thought about it, why was she stunned to silence when Dhruv proclaimed his love for her? And then I realized, it was another blow to her. Not unlike what Manik dealt her the previous night. The night before she was left so horribly alone by someone whom she put all her faith in, today she was pushed to the brink of losing someone so special in her life. Her savior, her light in dark times. Whatever our perception of Dhruv is, whatever evidence we have about Dhruv's involvement in all the times he came to help her; the fact remains that she is unaware of all the background things that go on behind Dhruv's actions. I don't believe she'll ever consider Dhruv any less special even if she were to know that Dhruv was dictated to do the things that he did because of this sole reason that Dhruv was there for her. For her, he was there. The ones who pushed him or asked him to be there, they weren't there for her when she needed someone. It was Dhruv.
I am astounded by the way one word 'love' has the ability to break her in many ways. The love she believed in was all proved a lie for her. The love which gave her the courage to dream and leap ahead left her so broken that one night changed Nandini in all the basic ways. And here it is again, love stripping away that one friend she holds so special..the one for whom her smiles always came so free and unrestrained, someone who kept her in touch with the Nandini who flew free, back home...his one confession changed him. She can say that she only wants to be a friend but can see look at him, ever again, and ignore what his true feelings for her are? Will her smiles come free for him again? Won't the thought that her smile might give him an idea she doesn't want him to get creep in her mind, forcing her to shrink deeper in her shell. She has so much to be careful of..break apart and be careful to gather the pieces so that no one would notice them..
But you know what? Despite all this shattering and breaking, this girl won't run. She won't curse anyone. She wouldn't go to anyone and blame them. She'll stand tall. And she'll stay. The tears which are uncontrollable for her right now, so uncontrollable that they start flowing anywhere, she'll wipe them all off. It's just been a day for her. Give her some time. This girl will gulp back all the tears and put up a face which wouldn't betray anything. She's done this before, she's been doing this ever since she was 7. It's just like that for her now, once again. Deal with it, not for her own sake but for the sake of the ones she holds dear.
The thing is though, there's only so much break one can take. She's at her limits now. It's not like Nandini to give it all up just cuz she was broken beyond repair and run away. She's got too much live for. She just doesn't have anything left to smile for.
And that is what excites me in terms of the future of this girl. Can she ever be the same giggling, blushing girl going through the beauty of love? My guess is no. But if that's not what her future is, what is it? Is it right for her to be a mature woman at the tender age of 17? Or will it make sense for her to revert back to her old self after going through all this life changing breaking apart? CVs, it's my request to you, don't disappoint me. Don't give this girl such heartbreak and then act like it was nothing a kiss of true love can't heal. It's no fairytale and we all know it.
