"Action is eloquence." ~William Shakespeare
It's there out in the open. Nandini heard the words loud and clear. Everything was a lie. Manik doesn't really care about her. It was all a sick game. He stood there mocking her when she begged him not to do it. He walked away and she lost all her fireflies. She fell for him and he threw it back at her. She should hate him. She says she hates him. She told him he was evil and she told him he was loser. She fought back. She walked away from him. She refused his advances. She asked him to not touch her. And yet.
And yet, he was there when she was crying. He still follows her wherever she goes. He still bosses over her like he has the right. He jokes with her and fights with her. They've "broken up" and yet he's bumped into her 16 times.
Why does she still let him close to her? Why does she flinch when he's bleeding? Why does she care enough to make him feel better? Why does she accept it when he's always just..there?
Because nothing has changed. Not really and not where it matters. He's still doing the stuff he always does. And she's still doing the things she's always done. Status quo.
Of course he'll comfort her when she's crying. Of course he'll go after her when she runs. Of course he thinks he'll be the one to drop her off. Of course he still knows her. Of course he'll still check up on her. Of course he'll say he knows her very well.
Of course she'll remove his coat when he asks her to. Of course she'll get the nurse to tie him a bandaid. Of course she'll get into his car because she knows him and she knows he won't take no for an answer. Of course she'll let him into her room in the middle of the night.
Of course they still love each other.
Everything has changed. Except it hasn't.
