Indeed he has to suffer more...this is not enough !!!!
He needs to realize that love is not a thing that you can pick up whenever you want and throw it in someone else's lap when you're done or whichever you please...and he should repent big time for this. He needs to work very very hard to regain Nandini's trust , which he so easily broke
The only question is will Nandu be able to completely trust him again and give her the guarantee that he doesn't do it again ???
