Dhruv sorry but I already disliked this character before today. I don't see no growth and no change in his character at all. To me he's worse than Navya at least Navya knows what she wants while rose boy is in La La land and is always confused and living in his own bubble.
I was actually cracking up today with his "I hope she's ok and after 3 bands" wala dialogue.
Manik had to literally push him to go and check on the girl he's supposed to love.
Manik: You have to support her. Be with her. Give her a shoulder.
Dhruv: *scratches his head*
Manik: "Kya hua?"
Dhruv: "I'm confused."
Manik: "Kyu, what are you confused about?"
Dhruv: "I can't make up my mind."
Manik: "On what?:
Dhruv: "Should I give her my left shoulder or my right shoulder." 🤓
Isliye Manik decides to purposely fall off that harness 🤣

There has been absolutely no character growth in Dhruv since the beginning of the show. When the show started, they made Dhruv look like the most interesting and layered character out of all. But it just all turned out flat.We have seen all the other characters grow. We've seen them cry, we've seen them angry, we've seen them strong and we've seen them crumble. Dhruv is the only character who has this monotonous presence in the show. His character graph has been a complete horizontal line. His attacks and disease is all there is to him. The rest of him is made up of Fab5 and Manik taking decisions and babying him. Dhruv has a very wrong image of reality. He wants to see everything perfect, the way he wants to see it. But that is not reality. I honestly don't know how his character will turn out to be after facing rejection or learning the truth about Manik-Nandini. He can't stand up for himself, think for himself, take decisions for himself or even handle confrontation of any sorts.Remember his attack when Nandini told him they can't be friends? Heck, even Shahid (who is completely useless) has had more character growth than Dhruv. Dhruv has turned out to be one of the weakest characters. Its disappointing to see Dhruvs character stuck in a rut and always being sheltered by Manik. This is only causing harm to Manik and himself. The only way Manik can ever move past this barrier and attain a certain individual freedom is when Dhruv himself free's Manik by taking control of himself. Manik and Dhruv are so co-dependant on each other. Dhruv is basically dependent on Manik for everything from decision making to standing up for him. And Manik is dependant on Dhruv for being the "greatest gift" from the stars. Dhruv is someone he knows he will always have, who will love him and be his eternal "buddy". But, seeing how Dhruvs character hasn't gotten very far in terms of attaining any form of stability upon himself and having any real vision of reality is turning out to be a huge hurdle in the story. I always thought that Dhruv is suppose to be the parallel for Manik and Nandini's story. In order to be the parallel, he has to be a more stronger, layered, and a more "aware" character.Instead, his character is acting more like a hurdle in the way than a parallel.Nothing more. He is shown as such a clueless lad and so flawed in every other aspect that it doesn't even evoke any form of pity in me for his character, regardless of his medical conditions. I don't know if CVs have intentionally shown Dhruvs character to have such minimal growth and development cause they have something different in mind, but as of now, his character has become frustrating to even watch.

I don't hate Dhruv just yet, but I certainly dislike how the writers are handling his character. The connection I felt with Dhruv's character is no longer there, he's become very monotous for me. He seems to live in this bubble and everyone around him only exists when he wants them to. Or better yet, when he needs them.

It's dissapointing to think that someone who had so much potential has become a puppet. He needs others to pull his string to tell him how to behave, talk, and think.

He needed Manik to push him to go to Nandini and console her...the girl he supposedly loves. If he really loved her he wouldn't have needed instuctions from another in order to reach out to her.

My unbiased Dhruv opinion:
you know it's really amazing, I watched the initial episodes of Dhruv and Nandini, Dhruv was MUCH better than, and his scenes with Nandini were actually cute. He went to see Nandini himself after that punch, he even told Manik that time not to keep pestering her, he even use to make jokes with Manik, about the punch and that accidental kiss. He had more of his mind then. In fact, ever since he broke his friendship with Nandini, he has regressed. Dhruv himself should have gone to speak to her, that is what he use to do in the past, I have to admit that, but the Dhruni today was not a Dhruni scene, it was a joke. I would be mightly pissed if I were a Dhruv/Dhruni fan today.

I don't know how I feel about Dhruv as a character, till his backstory is not revealed, I don't think i can feel for him much . Yet I kind of understand why his growth has not been shown or why he is like this -flat, passive ,these days. I think giving the lack of confidence over years has done a number on him. But it's his lack of will to improve or emote which bothers me. He is too satisfied with who he is , hence no growth. he doesn't notice the need for change.
Earlier he was happy at the attention Nandini gave to him for his saviour role. He liked it and savoured it, but once Nandini became his friend , his character's lack of communication skills or inability to listen carefully came into play.

For me he has always been a lousy friend, he mis-judged Manik -his supposed protector inspite of being aware that Manik always covered for his pranks. He was very quick in snapping up his friendship ties with fab5 even though he had zero idea about Nandini as a person or a friend.

But this is the way he has been with every other character. He takes care and protection for granted. His lack of understanding about emotions makes it difficult.

I sort of started enjoying him with Alya but the moment he ignored the pain in her voice over the phone , i became detached. He is simply obsessed with his illusions.

I don't know how will he grow from here, because going back and recoiling in the shell after he comes to know about manik-Nandu will be a step back.

it doesn't help his character much that his interactions are so limiting to just Nandu, Manik or Alya and that also most of the time the conversations revolve around him. He is never curious about his friends, worried for them or even reaching out. This makes him emotionally super dull.

I doubt there has been a dip, for me he seemed to be like this since beginning. Unless they play around with his anger issues and OCD, i don't think his character will evoke any sympathy from me.

Having said that , his character makes for a good example of a boy infatuating or having love illusions.

The problem with Dhruv was that he started off as a white character, and the scope for a white character on screen is a bare minimum, they needed to add his grey layers sooner, because now in retrospect, a lot of his whiteness seems hollow or rather reflected glory. You cannot have purely white or purely black characters on screen or on television, because as much as its entertainment, television as a medium is an exaggerated version of reality. In real, human beings get angry, get jealous, they are selfish and that is why the story of a human being will always be interesting. Humans are good or bad with regards to perspectives and environments. I don't think any of us on this forum ,can say we haven't got jealous, haven't got angry and yet we want to see this ideal unbelievable character on television. This is a disservice to the character, characters are interesting when you see them in their layers, in their depth, how they journey from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs, otherwise they land up being caricatures and you feel absolutely no emotional connect. I actually enjoyed Dhruv initially when the show started, he had a bit more layer to him, you often wondered why a seemingly nice guy stuck around these bullies or when he talked about how anger looked good on him and not Manik.
It is a little hard to sympathise with him, because as we have seen the rest of the Fab5 have their own issues, it might not be physical but they all have issues and cope with it and yet its Dhruv who gets treated with kid gloves and Dhruv who seems to live in a bubble.

But I don't hate the character, I am kind of indifferent to him nowadays.

THIS👍🏼

Yup, if one watches the initial episode, Dhruv came off as one of the most intriguing characters. Being the nice guy of only a few words, with this medical condition, hanging out with a bunch of bullies. He came off as a very mysterious character with a lot of scope to grow. But over the course of time, he has turned into a very one-dimensional character where you fail to connect with him. There hasn't been any growth and there hasn't been a journey. Maybe the CVs are planning to develop his character in one 'go' after he experiences heart break. But again, I connect with characters who gradually shed their layers and have that journey rather than someone who suddenly changes over one blow. That "journey" of a character is what is truly insightful for the audience which they grip on to. Dhruv as such, hasn't had a journey in comparison to the rest. As you have said, television is a medium of exaggerated reality but in Dhruv's character, he is so far fetched that its hard to connect with him or see beyond his disease or his "buddy" tag.

Adding on, this is completely my opinion without any offense intended, but I believe Dhruv's character also lacks to be translated well in the acting department. Uttkarsh is new and is growing which is evident (appreciate him for that) but since Dhruv's character is suppose to be a complete parallel in MaNan's story, as they have hinted time and again, they should have chosen a better actor. All in all, the lack in development and the lack in acting together, for me, is not translating Dhruv as a very relatable character. I feel that the CVz time and again try to grab the "pity" factor for his character but sadly, the lack of connect doesn't evoke any such emotion in me for him.

Stop hating on Dhruv just cause of the MaNan fangirling is overflowing inside individuals. Dhruv is not butchered at all. Whatever.

P.S. I have never hated any of the characters on this show. Not even Harshad or Noyonika becuase none of them (including Fab5 & NH3) are completely positive or completely negative. I like this show because the characters are very relatable and they all have evident grey shades to them. All of them.MaNan is a big part of the reason for me to like the show BUT that doesn't take away the fact that I like this show equally on the basis of how they have etched out the characters and equations so beautifully. All of them together make me truly obsess over this show. Its just that Dhruv'c character is the only one which hasn't shown any form of progression. My love for one character or couple doesn't turn me blind towards others on the show. They are equally significant.
