I think the problem that most people are having here is, the stakes are
just not high enough for all this angst. Yes, we all know how obsessively Manik protects Dhruv, but that is simply not a good enough excuse for him to let the love of his life go, that too in such a painful fashion, just because Dhruv "thinks" he loves Nandini. It is plain and simple disturbing, and at another level, disgusting too, because it simply leaves the girl as an object to be passed around at will between the two guys.
The writers goofed up big time here imo, because the first rule to hook your audience to the angst is, up the stakes. Dhruv has never demonstrated any kind of passion whatsoever for Nandini, nothing even approaching the desperation of Manik's love. He is not even confident about his feelings, goddamit, and takes zero incentive himself to approach the girl, and needs a push all the time. Yes, Dhruv suffers from rage episodes, but since no one knows why they happen, we cannot even assume that Nandini's unavailability will trigger something major in him. So we are just left scratching our heads and wondering," So, he claims to love her too. Big deal."
It's just such a lame conflict. The only reason we are still enjoying this is because both Parth and Niti are nailing the intensity and we are way too invested in the MaNan saga anyway to get out now. But story-wise, this is one of KY2's weakest plot-lines for me.
And now that the rant is over, HOW AWESOME WAS NANDINI TODAY? Total tigress. Uff. She owned the episode today. Show those dumb males what balls are, girl.
