What if in an ironic twist of art imitates life she ends up just as he did in the movie? What if the whole purpose of this Harshad Ji chant and blabbering and daydreaming is so that she wakes up to a harsh reality and goes on to translate that anger, resentment and hurt into her music and songs?

What if it's to provide the fire she needs in her music, the depth? Navya is naive and innocent - stupidly so. This is the harsh awakening awaiting her character to give her that push to grow, to become the person she's meant to be.

This whole Harshad-Navya plot serves multiple purpose I think. One as I mentioned before, second to clearly highlight the lingering feelings Mukti has for Harshad and third to point out just how destructive blind adoration and deep, blown out of proportion infatuation can be - something very common amongst teenagers.

Also, not a huge fan of the whole twin angle myself. They could have definitely done better. But I'm willing to wait this particular one out.

first - where have ya been CP?!

on to your comment, wow. That'd be like so angsty and a completely ironical take on Navya's character. Even before she was a obsessed mess, she has always been this naive girl who only lives in her dreams. And she abandoned her dreams of music and replaced them with Harshad's. When those dreams will break, she will have to go back to her previous dreams of music. And then she can channel the hurt of her broken dreams, mix it with a reality check and put it all in her original dream so that the dreams would have no choice left but to come true.

All this Harshadji crap, this could be just a step in the big scheme of things. A step to prepare her to achieve her actual dreams. I would love for that to happen. Getting a romantic happy ending is not the priority of girls with actual dreams to accomplish, which was how Navya was introduced to her. I want that Navya back, who has no time for anything else but her dreams..

Heey! I had been busy with RL so my catch-ups were halted for a while but I'm back to them now. And so I am back here too! :) Hows you been?

That's the amazing thing about Navya isn't it? No matter what she does, she does it completely, to a point of being obsessed with it. Her entire world, her very existance seems to revolve around it. Be it her obsession with joining Fab5, her dream of becoming a singer or now Harshad. She knows no embarassment, no shame. She goes all out. And to have a character like that shattered completely? Wow. That would be so amazing to watch.

I have a feeling that we will get that Navya back - only she would be a more brittle, harsher person and I have a feeling that it would ache us deep inside to watch her once she's matured. Because she will just go from one extreme to another. From naive to a hard-hitting realist, almost dark and ruthless in her single-minded determination.

First I thought how can one be busy with RamLeela then it struck me, "Oh..real life" xD
I've been great! Just missed you here!

I admit I never paid much attention to Navya in depth and just took her on the surface level. But that's a really great observation of her character. And it gets me thinking when someone like her breaks, how will she shape up then? The first thing that a heartbreak takes is one's laughter and humor. Navya is made of childlike naivety and if she goes through something that might take away this aspect of her character, what will she be left with?

I am excited about Navya's growing up because I don't know how she will shape up. I doubt she'll ever have the sense of maturity that Nandini has, she just can't become a wise girl overnight. I just hope whatever happens, at the end of it all, she isn't left alone. I want her to broaden her horizons, to learn to know and accept people for who they are more than her perception of them. She really needs that..

Sorry for butting in you guys, but I would love love to see this, honestly speaking. I also see a camaraderie building between her and Mukti, I don't know why.
I really hope the writers take this path, I don't want to see another guy for Navya just because Harshad or the Cabir pairing didnt work out. A woman's ultimate aim in life is not to get a guy, especially not someone who came with big dreams and ambitions.

Hehe. Believe it or not, I have still not seen that movie. It's been on my list forever though. SLB is love. :)

The great thing about characters like that is the immense amount of potential they behold. The girl playing Navya is a great actress and it would be a great shame if they dont tap into her talent. Plus, she looks a lot like Rani Mukerjee. I can't help but think that to myself every single time she comes on screen. When someone like Navya breaks, it's a nightmare to watch. I imagine her to freeze off completely. She is soo fluid and transparent that when she shatters, I imagine her to caccoon in on herself, completely cut off from everything and everyone. It would be scary to watch to say the least. A Navya that doesn't shine.

I can't wait for her to grow up too. And as cruel as that awakening would be, I long for it. And you are right. She will never be like Nandini - if anything, I have a really bad inkling that she would be like Harshad in some ways. You know I dont think she will ever be left alone, considering she has friends like Nandini and Shahid but I think she would isolate herself from them. I see her going darkside before she fully rises as her own. Positive to negative and then ground zero you know? My concern truly is that she will lose faith in people, even people that who really are as they are. But in the long run, I really hope she turns out like you said, I just think she has to be distrustful before she can learn to trust again. But that all is only possible if she gets the development she deserves. Oh how I wish they don't butcher her character and really flesh it out!

I want to be optimistic (that's like my word these days😛) and say that through the character of Navya they should how one does to adapt and evolve over a period of time.
One has to become practical and self-reliant these days! You need to love yourself, over boys! There is potential, but lets seee😃

Welcome Cat! The more, the merrier!

OMG yes! I truly seriously wanna see Mukti and Navya getting along, learning a thing or two from each other and just being each other's support systems. They are so deliciously different from each other and yet deep inside so similar. Please make this happen!

I agree with you on the guy thing. See Navya's character is such that she can only handle any one thing at a time. Now I maybe wrong but I just get a feeling that if she were in a relationship, she wouldnt be able to give her music her all. She doesn't come across as a person who balances things well is all. So more for the sake of her music rather than anything else, she should not have a romantic interest. I want it to be that one khalish in her life. That one couldn't-have in her life. I want her to be a famous, amazing, talented rockstar with an all consuming passion and love for music but with no romantic prospects.

Word. But this is an indian show after all. And we shouldn't get our hopes up. I can't begin to name the number of girls who came with big dreams and ambitions until they had head-on collision with guys and all that flew out of the window. Sad reality of desi television, that is.

I want Harshad with Mukti..they have some serious chemistry !
As it is I don't like Ranbir's character..it was unnecessary move by CV's !
For now I just want Navya to get over her Harshadji jaap and concentrate on her dream...Ranbir or someone else i really don't mind !

I wanted Navya Cabir because they were damn hilarious together but is Ranbir's personality the same as Cabir ? I don't think so. Better she fangirls over Harshad then. 😆

this show is supposed to be a sort of adaption of the korean show boys over flowers,in which kabir's counterpart falls in love with navya's counterpart. However since in kabir is gay, navya will probably end up with ranbir. The ' kabir' in that show helped navya's counterpart get over her boyfriend which i'm guessing is harshad. So navya and ranbir will probably end up together
