Manik sat with the rest of the Fab5 thinking about his decision yesterday. He couldn't believe that Alya had actually expected him to choose between them and ...Nandu. No way would he have chosen Nandu, she was just his spot girl and would forever be. Yeah, they now had something in common and had a sense of understanding between them, but that didn't change the fact that she was just his spot girl. He sat with his guitar slowly strumming it, when suddenly his phone started ringing. He picked it up and rolled his eyes. It was Spot, just because he was nice to her once, doesn't mean he was always going to be nice to her. He picked it up.
"Yes Spot?" he asked, bored.
"Manik! Please, mujhe help karo! I don't know what to do! Rishabh, he's having another attack and it's really bad. I can't stop it," she cried into the phone. Manik immediately stood up, making the rest look at him.
"Okay, slowly tell me," Manik said, trying to calm her down.
"I was downstairs, when suddenly I heard something crash, like yesterday. So I went up to see what was wrong and he was having another attack. I tried to give him water and calm him down, but it isn't working. He's becoming worse, and he keeps looking at sign. Please help me. I don't know what to do."
"Okay. Calm down, I'm on my way," he said, and hung up the phone. He was about to leave when Alya pulled him back.
"Where the hell are you going?" she demanded.
"Alya, not right now. I need to go and sort some stuff out. It's important," Manik told her.
"You're going to her right? I knew it. You've lost it, all for that stupid girl," Alya retorted.
"Stop it Alya. You have no clue what you're talking about, now if you excuse me I need to go," Manik said, leaving the rest in shock. Dhruv quickly went behind Manik.
"Bro, what's going on? Are you really going for Nandini?" he asked his best friend.
"Not for her, for her brother. He...he...he has the same attacks as you," Manik admitted, while Dhruv stared in shock. "I know you hate talking about it, but she really needs my help. I was there when it happened yesterday and I can't just leave her."
"Yesterday? You went to her house," Dhruv asked.
"Yeah...but that's beside the point. Don't try and stop me, I'm leaving," Manik said.
"I wouldn't even if I wanted to," Dhruv said, "I'm coming with you."
Manik looked at him for a second, then nodded. They both rushed out and towards Nandini's house. When they got there they both just entered, knowing that her uncle and aunt weren't home. Manik lead the way to Rishabh's bedroom, where he found Nandini trying to calm Rishabh down, she herself in tears. She tried to calm Rishabh down again, but he pushed her away and straight into Dhruv's arms. Her eyes widened at the sight of Dhruv then looked around and saw Manik as well.
"Please, mujhe madat karo. I don't know what to do," she asked them, in tears. Dhruv carefully transferred Nandini into Manik's arms, who carefully wrapped his arm around her and tried to calm her down. If she was hysterical, then it wouldn't help Rishabh at all. Nandini and Manik watched as Dhruv slowly got Rishabh to calm down, and slowly Rishabh had calmed down. Nandini rushed towards Rishabh and helped him rest. She then made the other two go down with her. As they went to the dining room, she wiped her face.
"Thanks for your help. Both of you. I just...I didn't know what to do, and I usually wouldn't have even thought about thinking about calling you, but I was desperate, and I didn't know who else to call," Nandini ranted.
"Hey, it's fine," Manik said. "I understand what you're going through." Dhruv stayed silent. Nandini turned to him.
"I'm sorry about this, and I don't know what you did but thank so much. If it weren't for you I don't know what would have happened," Nandini said. Dhruv just nodded.
"It's fine. If it happens again, just call me," Dhruv told her, while Nandini nodded. They boys went to leave.
"You guys aren't that bad," she said softly.
"Neither are you," Manik said, turning to look at her. Dhruv smiled softly as he watched the exchanged. Manik went towards the car. Dhruv looked at Nandini, and was surprised when she hugged him. He immediately closed his hands around her smaller body.
"Thank so much for what you did. If you weren't there I don't know what could have happened to you. I'm sorry you had to go through this for me," Nandini said, and Dhruv could feel the tears soaking his shirt. He pulled away and took her face in his hands, wiping the tears away.
"Hey, I'll always help you. It was no big," Dhruv said, and Nandini nodded.
"If your little lovey-dovey scene is over, can we go," Manik drawled from the car. Both Nandini and Dhruv rolled their eyes.
"Why? Jealous," Nandini retorted.
"In your dreams," Manik said back.
"You mean nightmares." Dhruv laughed at the two of them, and kissed Nandini on the cheek before going off with Manik. Nandini blushed and waved at the two.
Maybe this school won't be so bad after all, she thought as they drove away.
