Hi guys... as usual here's my humble take on Monday and Tuesday. As for Yesterdays episode...that deserves a seperate post on its own.
Mon: In the evergreen ways of WWE….this was a handicap match...the wrestlers being Karthik vs. Kripa and Prithvi….The winner…Kripa by a good mile.
Karthik: was so sure that he could rattle Prithvi's cage…that Prithvi would be a ever willing accomplice in whatever wicked scheme he was planning, that at first he couldn't fathom that Prithvi turned him down…he tried his utmost to use Prithvi's emotions against him by harping on the fact that Kripa went to see Angad, that Kripa might go back to Angad…Blah, Blah, Blah….
Sticking with the wrestling analogies, Karthik was given a choke slam of rejection by Prithvi which in turn allowed fearless Kripa to pin him down …1…2…3. Match over!!!
Have to give credit to the actor who plays Karthik (unfortunately I don't know his name)…his acting was good. He excels in playing the big baddie. He went from cocky and so sure of himself to humiliated and blustering idiot in a few split seconds…Good Job! 👏
Prithvi: He never let Karthik's words affect him, never showed any of his insecurities in front of Karthik, the only time we saw them surface was when Kripa so determinedly stated that she would be the one to help Angad rise to fame again. I must say…After all the staring matched between Angad and Prithvi (or rather all the glares that Prithvi has directed towards Angad), Prithvi has gotten the "look of disgust" down to a tee & this time Karthik was the recipient. I loved how Prithvi kept his head and saw through Karthik for what his true motives were…and what a put down…calling Karthik a "selfish and Gathia insaan"…& in the cold looks department…Prithvi excels….with a look that could freeze, Prithvi told K that despite whatever was between Him and Angad, he would never help Karthik with his disgusting plans. "Tum to baat karne ke laayek hi nahi" …I loved that line… and he delivered it with such Oomph….Wah, kya baat hai Prithvi!!!! 👏 👏
Kripa: Here's a lady that has clearly evolved in leaps. She was always intimidated by Naina and Karthik…she gave as good as she got with Naina last week, and today she returned the favour with Karthik…she stood up to him and put him down in such a dignified way….BRAVO KRIPA!!! All his screaming and bellowing had no effect on her…the more he threatened to ruin Angad and her, the more determined she became.
The fierce determination on her face when she proclaimed that she would be the one helping Angad to the top and that she would do it in front of everybody and the hope and light in her eyes when she thought that she might get to see Angad at the pooja just once again proves her feelings…deny it as much as she wants…its there and will always be there.
Angad: Our hero was only shown for a few seconds but he sure made his presence felt…the clenching of the fists, the anger in his eyes as he stared at the kidnapper…Iqbal once again, totally got Angad's emotions across without having to say a word (although beneath the anger, you could see that Poor Iqbal was still getting over his illness…that just makes me admire him even more)
General Comments: I don't know much about Hindu prayers so I can't comment. I've said it before and I'll say it again….the whole kidnapping thing just doesn't gel with me…it doesn't gel with the plot of KYPH…as for the kidnapper…he sure had a lot of Gall to walk into a crowded room to try and grab Kripa again…even if Angad hadn't stopped him…did he honestly think that he could get away with it??…was Kripa suppose to be submissive and just tag along with out putting up a fight???…and in the struggle surely someone would have notice the commotion….the lack of logic again shines through!!! 😕 😕
I've come to associate all the KYPH songs, from the sad "Joh tum nahin" to " Hum ne lagaaye joh har Aas he tooti" to " Rukh si gahi zindagi aaj is pal me" and so many more, with A-K…so when Kripa was sitting in the rocking chair and the music started playing…I was like...please don't use a sad KYPH song for Kripa and Prithvi, don't ruin it for me…thank goodness Ekta had the sense not to use one of the many songs…she just used an instrumental.
Tues: Angad, Angad, Angad…Angry Angad, Mucho Stuntman Angad, Softhearted Angad…it was Angad all the way. 😳
Episode started great with the very fierce, very angry Angad out to get the baddie of the day, giving chase, running into oncoming traffic, somersaulting and leaping over car bonnets…wow, what a mucho man, our Angad is turning out to be a proper stuntman….it's pity that he didn't get a few solid shots in between…would have loved to see those sexy muscles getting a work out. 😳 😳
Great way to have our hero make return after a few days missing.
I have to admire this man for the faith he has in his friendships, when he first saw the kidnappers letter, he couldn't believe that Mishty would stoop so low…the same train of thought carried through when she answered "madam's" phone…his eyes widening in shock.. The disbelief that a pal would do something like that…prompting him to cut the call and dial again and again….each time as if he were trying to convince himself of Mishty's involvement.
The entire Angad – Damini scene was a power packed scene that was brilliantly done by the two actors. 👏 👏 The steely determined look, the tightening of the jaw as he confronted Damini just added that extra conviction to his anger. You could actually see Damini shrink under that look as she faced him…poor woman…if he were looking at me that way, I would also be gob smacked.
You have just got to love this man…him being so angry (justifiably so), yet having the concern for his friend Mishty & her bro Prithvi, enough to lower his voice and having a soft heart, enough to keep silent about Damini's sins.
"Aap ye aisa kyon Kiya"…who would have thought that the second time Angad said those words would also be to a mother figure….he said the same thing to his mom when he told her about the death of his child and now he say it to another mother figure - Damini.
Angad's raging yet controlled anger (I know its a contradiction…but its perfectly suited in this case…his anger was off the scales, yet he controlled it admirably), Damini's breakdown or should I say manipulation of Angad's emotions and soft spots….the entire thing was very well shot…Credit goes to Ekta for this. 👏
Prithvi: is an ever increasing fool who seems to take a step towards redeeming himself in my eyes in one moment, to taking ten steps back to lowering himself in my books and having me curse him. "Angad ki Kaamyabi….shaadi ka tofa"…what a load of bull dust!!! (no swearing allowed) At every turn Prithvi seems to thrust his love into the fray…"I'm doing this for our love" or "I'm doing it out of my love for you"…blah, blah, blah…Angad never made his actions public, never held it up for Kripa to see so why should Prithvi always bring it up, why does he always ensure that Kripa knows about his reasons…and Kripa on the other hand seems to get more uncomfortable every time those word are uttered….he seems to want to bind her to him with those words and that just irritates the living daylights out of me!!! 🤢
Kripa: Is floundering…could have gladly slapped her in this episode…she comes to the pooja with the hopes of seeing Angad…her eyes searches the crowd in the hope of spotting him and when she finally sees him, her eyes seem to drink the sight of him in, yet she tells him that Prithvi is right and that he should leave….what's up with that, woman, you exasperate me beyond words.
BTW, Angad's eyes were drinking in the sight of Kripa as well, even if it were on the sly.
As for her being so happy about her office…she is a singer, wants to be a great rock star, yet she's happy about having an office, a desk to sit behind…what does she want to do, push papers the whole day…surf the net…maybe log on to I-F??? 😆 😆
Josh: I love this man…I've always felt endearment towards him, but today he solidified his place in my heart permanently. His love and respect for his friend shone through today and could have lit up a darkened room. "Dosti ki beech show kya hai, jaan bhi aajahe" (he said something to that extent) and "He's a star and I'm sure he'll never stop shining"…These are the lines that won him a permanent place in my heart. 😳 😳
BTW love the superman t-shirt that Angad was wearing… a tribute to "You're superman…actually you're batman & I'm Robin"
General comments: Why was Prithvi presenting Kripa with an office as a gift…if I remember correctly, didn't PK (Prithvi & Kripa) Enterprises buy Khanna Enterprises…so what's the gift…it's her office as much as it is his. And if she's so sorry about everything that happened, why is she so happy to occupy an office in Khanna Enterprises (I'm assuming her office was at Khanna Enterprises building), shouldn't he feel a twinge of sadness, if this were the case??
The grace and ease of Angad and Josh's friendship never seems to stop warming my heart, I love their easy camaraderie and how it's always so easy for Angad to truly smile when he's with Josh…I know that we've mentioned it plenty times but it bears repeating. The fun chemistry between Iqbal and Chetan is a true gift to us as viewers.
