However, Neha Bamb's not returning in an Ekta Kapoor serial
GITA HARI
This pretty girl who loves to be in simple ganjis with denims, started off as a model and landed in the South doing films there but got recognition in Mumbai as Kripa, the love of rockstar Angad, in Sony's Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai. That's Neha Bamb for you! After KYPH bid adieu, Neha was missing from the television scene as she was busy giving final touches to her Telugu film Bhumeralu opposite Siddharth of Rang De Basanti fame. Neha says, "I was acting in the movie when Kaisa Yeh… was still on air. The movie released in Hyderabad after my serial went off air. I took a break for oneand-a-half months, just to feel fresh before I start my next serial."
Neha would very soon be playing Mahi in the daily soap Maayka. She says, "The role is different as it does not showcase just one protagonist. There are three daughters in a Punjabi family and I play Mahi, the youngest one."
Talking about her new role, the Taurean who does not hesitate to call a spade a spade, admits "I am blunt and frank. I relate to my character of Mahi, who is the youngest of the three sisters,
she is just like me. Chulbuli, talkative, a spitfire and a very happy girl, I identify myself with the role. No rona-dhona or melodramat- me ." Despite being an actor of a single heroine serial KYPH, Neha has bonded well with the other two girls, as she reveals, "For the first time I am shooting with actors of my age group. We wait for each other and have a blast on the sets."
Considering she became popular with an Ekta Kapoor serial, wasn't she offered any serial after KYPH? "Yes, I did," informs Neha, "Ekta offered me a role for a serial to be shot in Dubai. I would have to spend two years there. I did not go for it as my family would not allow me to stay away from home." Let's gear up to view the sweet and docile Kripa transform into a spitfire on the small screen.
