After Vaidehi's redicament due to an impotent husband and Ananya's dilemma over her two suitors in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, Sony is now going back to fairy tales. The channel's latest offering is called Kaajjal Sab Ki Ankhon Mein Basi.
Produced by K Sera Sera's TV division, 20-20 and directed by Ashish Patil (of Kumkum fame), Sony's chief creative director Sandiip Sikcand tells us that it will star a "pretty, vivacious TV actress and Apurva Agnihotri in lead roles, besides Rati Agnihotri in a key character." A little bird tells us that Surveen Chawla plays the title role.
The story, Sikcand says, is about Kaajaal "a small town girl in Mussourie who works as a radio jockey but she's unlike Preity Zinta of Salaam Namaste. Her only solace, guide is Lord Ganpati who she confides in and affectionately calls Ganu bhaiyya." The highlight of the story will be its "fairy tale nature. It's mainly for the masses. Her conflicts are unlike any other soap protagonist." The serial is expected to go on air end-September and the "lead girl will be revealed on one of the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa episodes."
Surveen Chawla will play KAAJJAL
