| here'z an interview with Ekta Kapoor about her further projects: What was the reason that you were ending most of your present shows? Firstly I would like to inform everyone that from now onwards I have decided not to stretch my serials for 4 to 5 years. The reason behind ending many of my shows was the TRP problem. Many of my big budget shows did not showed good TRPs due to their weak time slot. So its mean that you have a fear that the rival channels are taking over your serials with their own serials? Well I can't say that this is a fear. But yes some of the shows from Zee TV have done so. Saat Phere is doing really very well and due to it Kavyanjali's TRPs have declined. So tell me how many serials are you ending? Kandy Floss has already been ended. Kavyanjali is ending this month. Kaisa ye pyar hai is ending in December or January. Kya hoga Nimmo ka is ending in September. K Street and kesar are also ending very soon but I cant say the month accurately. But my new shows will replace these shows. I am also thinking of ending Kahin to hoga because there is not much left in it. Which new serials are you starting? Karam apna apna (Kasturi) is replacing kavyanjali and will be a grand show. It is based on the movie Silsila. Kis rishtey se is replacing Nimmo. It is a story of two sisters and Shabbir Ahluwalia and Karan Wahi are plying the main lead actors. And two fresh female faces will play the main leads. Karbon Kopy is starting soon and it will be suspense thriller. Kuch dil hi dil mein (title under consideration) is stating in December on star plus and will have a huge fabulous star cast, which will include RATI AGNOHOTRI, Iqbal Kan, Hussain KK, Kanchi Kaul, Nikki Aneja And many other great actors. Todhi si zameen… is starting on star plus very soon and it will be a joint venture of Balaji and Smriti Irani. I am starting Kamal, a story about bar girls and their difficulties in life. What was the reason that some of your big shows like Kaisa ye pyar hai and kya hoga nimmo ka didn't even came in top 20 in the daily TRPs? It is also a big question for me. Kya hoga nimmo ka was a very expensive drama having Ejaz Khan in it but still it didn't showed good TRPs. It had a shocking TRP of 0.5. Kaisa ye pyar hai included big names of televison like Iqbal Khan Hiten Tejwani Gauri Pradhan, but it also failed to have good TRPs. I guess it is due to the weak time slots of those serials. Todhi si zameen… Is a joint venture of yours Balaji and Smriti Irani, what do you have to say about it. TSZTSA is a reality show. It has been base don the problems of a normal individual of India. It includes a big star cast of Smriti Irani, Kiran karmarkar, Sanjit Bedi, Jaya and many other names. We heard that Jackie Shroff was first selected to play the male lead of TSZTSA. Why did he left? He didn't left at all. We just thought of casting him but later we realized that it is useless to cast him. It will not help the show. Like Kyunki… don't you have a plan for a 20-year leap in Kahaani…? Yeah, I do have a plan. But I wont reveal it. |
