The wannabe funny show on Sony (Batliwalla House no.42) that failed to tickle the funny bone will be back in a new form. Re-christened Kudkudiya House no. 43, the show will now have a new name and a new family though the format of the show basically will remain same.
Jamnadas Majethia, producer of the show confirms, "Yes, the show is coming back in a revamped form. This time, we will have a Gujarati family called the Kudkudiyas on the show. They are a very orthodox family who hail from Rajkot. Their life style and up-bringing is such that they do not even appreciate girls mingling with boys."
Talking more about the show, Majethia says, "I have given all of them different characteristics. All the actors will have typical attributes, particular to their character which makes them unique. In Gujarat, the language, style and even the accent changes every kilometre. But the peculiarity of the show is that this family will be shown to own a farsan shop in their house."
So who comprises the 'happening' family in this mad house, we ask? "It has brilliant actors from Gujarati theatre. It has Dilip Joshi (also seen in Sony's comedy soap Hum Sab Ek Hain), Dimple Shah (she too was there in Hum Sab Ek Hain) and Nimisha Vakharia," Majethia says.
Considering that the Parsi family, in the earlier season, didn't click with the audience, do the makers of the show expect that the Gujarati family will be successful at striking a chord with the audience? Majethia clarifies, "The first season had secured a rating of 2.5 (in the audience metre), which for a weekend show on Sony was fair. But we are open to the idea of having different families in different seasons. As for this season, we are not sure how long it will run." Actor Madhavan and Mohammed Iqbal Khan (Angad of Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai) will be among the first guests to be on the show, which goes on air from November 25.
So dont forget to watch it and sorry I dont know when its going to be aired so someone do post the timing.
